While this may be affordable and somewhat reliable as a product in itself, these units have a massive weakness: insects and spiders. I service smoke alarms for a local real estate and since this photoelectric technology came in I get called out to roughly one false alarm a week, seven out of ten of which are caused by this specific alarm. I have cleaned funnelled webs, spider hatchlings, cockroaches, moth bodies... you name it, I have cleaned them out of this alarm.

Clipsail good qualitu

Got four of these to replace my current ten plus year old smoke detectors. The Clipsal quality is good and I like that I can quickly test and hush the alarm. The led lights are subtle looks good. Overall a good buy.

Easy install.

These detectors matched the wiring connection block and, screw mounting holes of the previous obsolete smoke detectors. The small light is a bonus, provides enough illumination in the hallway without turning on main light. A quality product, I'm very satisfied with purchase.

Ideal to replace 10 year old smoke alarms

This alarm has the same base as the 10 year old ionisation type that were due for replacement, model 755SMA. So any marks on the ceiling left by the old alarm and the mounting holes align, this makes it a simple job to turn off the power and transfer the wires [including the interconnect wire] from old to new base.

Interconnectable Photoelectric smoke alarms

Have had this brand & model of interconnected smoke alarm installed in my place for almost 12 months now. It is a coastal environment that could potentially cause many unwanted activations, to date I've experienced none. These smoke alarms along with correct placement have so far proved to be a reliable choice.

Must have for caravanners who cook or heat with gas

We use it in our caravan for safety reasons. Works ok - tested it by exposing it to high concentrations of CO like the car exhaust pipe. Alarm sounded so it works.

Quality product, easy installation.

Great product for home safety. Works well when wired with interlinking cable and with RFB2 wireless bases to interconnect all detectors in house. RB relay base is also a great addition to turn on hallway lights or similar when detectors go off.
