Absolutely awful product. I lay awake typing this review at 5 am, not because I enjoy reviewing mundane posts at this hour but because I was awoken to shattering glass from the picture I had hung a few hours prior. See I would take the blame for this, if it was the only picture to fall off my wall and shatter but it is in fact the second one to do so. Silly me to have left them up after the first, but my test photo had been up for multiple days now And after the other pictures held a few hours I assumed it was safe. Wrong. I now have tiny shards of glass in my feet, two broken frames that I need to repurchase and wasted my time spacing out measuring and leveling photos all to do it over again the old fashion way with nails into the tiny triangles they provide. I also should add that I followed the instructions completely, actually allowing the strips to dry on the wall for longer than the suggested hour yet still find myself in this situation. Save yourself some time, and money, and just use a nail.

I wanted to hang some pictures on a wall that I did not want to put holes in. When I have used Pressure Sensitive Adhesives in the past, I have taken off pieces of painted wall. I have used the Command(tm) products in the past for small items and had decent luck. I saw this product for larger pictures, adn thought I would try it. Worked Great! I had a huge world map picture puzzle to hang (heavy and large) and applying the strips and hanging were simple. And it is still hanging with no problems. I will certainly use this product again for pictures where I would normally used nails to hang them. Very Pleased.

I do not find these strips are as good as they claim, unfortunately. I used them to hang some frames on newly painted walls, wishing to not place any holes in the lovely clean surface. Even though I placed more than the package recommended, using a heavier weight gauge than the actual frame exerted, they still fell off. I gently buffed the new paint surface, thinking that was the issue, but they still were ineffective. Perhaps they work for VERY light items, but I would strongly discourage anyone from using these strips for frames larger than an 8X10.

I have new freshly painted walls and do not want to use nails or screws to hang stuff so i opted for command strips. I have heard a lot of good things about them and well, they seem to work great in the commercials! I used them on my “Marine Corner” (see photo) and everything is still hanging perfectly. I am quite cautious about stuff falling off while using these strips but my Military corner has proven, at this point, that I can put some trust in these command strips. THEN, I used them to hang my clock. This clock does not weigh any where near the “up to 16lb” weight limit so I trusted that these were safe and would hold my clock. I used 2 pairs- because I’m not sure (based on description) if that weight limit is for 1 pair or if i have to use 2 pair. I used 2 pairs- because I’m not sure (based on description) if that weight limit is for 1 pair or if i have to use 2 pair. If it is 16lb per pair then using to would give added security in my mind and there should be no reason they don’t hold this relatively light clock. Well, 48 hours later, see photos. My hundred dollar clock is BROKE and so is my heart. I LOVE this clock and it took years for me to finally get one. The entire face of this clock broken….
I attached a handful of very light picture frames from Ikea on my wall using your command strips about a year ago. I believe 4 strips are supposed to hold 16 pounds total. My frame is 3 pounds so I used 2 strips thinking that would more than suffice. In recent days I had 2 frames fall off the wall and one of them actually broke. They are light but still have sharper corners so luckily none of my kids was under them at the time. All of these strip products seem like "easy" and clean solutions but the products do not perform. I've had other small strips with hooks etc simply fall off the wall as well. Great ideas terrible execution.
I have a large picture gallery wall and although the frames sit on the shelf, when I dust or move any of the picture frames, sometimes the larger ones in the back tip over and they start falling down like an avalanche. I can't tell you how many times I've had to repair or replace frames, glass included, that were broken because of that. I'm currently changing up some of the pictures and frames and was looking for a way to hold the larger frames in place. Bingo! I found these Command Picture Hanging Strips. I put one strip directly on the upper back of the frame and the other onto the wall. They hold the frame to the wall and will not move until I purposely pull the 2 velcro-like strips apart. I am beyond ecstatic and highly recommend these 3M strips.I've included 2 pictures, one showing the gallery wall and one showing the Command strip between the frame and wall.
I have purchased over $100 worth of command strips over time. The outdoor light hangers and strips are excellent. The indoor small picture hangers are so-so, just hard to actually disengage back (attached to wall) from front (attached to picture) before allowing the glue to dry. Even when I followed the directions exactly, 3 of my larger frames fell, one in the middle of the night. They seemed to hold for about 4 months, then one by one started to fall. When pulling on the tab to remove the the wall mounted strips, paint and wall texture both came off. I used heavier weighted strips and weighed each picture before hanging. One is an antique oil painting with of course no glass, but a custom frame that now is damaged. The less expensive frame was damaged on the 9x12 when it fell. My walls are painted in flat paint and as 90% homes in the West Coast or Hawaii, have a slight orange peel, which 3M customer service said would be fine. No looking forward to all the replacement of the frames or re-texturing, patching and re-texturing. The ads on TV are very misleading for how easy or well the product works for picture hanging. As I mentioned, the outdoor for lights as well as the hooks for hanging things do work.
I love command strips and this value pack is just amazing! From using them in a classroom to now hanging up pictures, paintings in my rental home, I cannot tell you that these little gems are a blessing. They leave no marks on the walls and they are superlong lasting. I did have one of my bought paintings fall in the bedroom. However, i believe that my humidifier stood to close to the painting and caused the strips to become too moist and fall down. I lived in Florida for many years where the humidity was/is always high, and I have never had a problem with my command hooks or strips...so I have to take responsibility for this OOPS. One of the best inventions ever!!!!
My gosh these are FANTASTIC just absolutely FANTASTIC! I honestly wasn't sure they would work but man went beyond my expectations. I've used them to put up the following so far. 5x7, 8x10 and 11x14 picture frames. All picture frames were plastic ones except for 3 that were entirely wood so just wanted to disclose that. Also pair of wall clocks and a LED ceiling light. All have stayed up no issue since i taped them up on walls. I'm glad I was told about these and I will definitely be getting more if i need them in future.
I bought this to hang a picture in my brand new 18k remodeled bathroom. The picture was a canvas frameless picture that weighed less than one pound. Followed direction and 3 days later the picture fell off the wall. I tried to remove the strips as indicted. When the strips came off so did the paint along with the dry wall paper. Purchased this as I did not to put holes in brand new walls. No holes in the wall, but a ruined wall from these strips. I would never recommend this to anyone.
