Concept 2 Rower Black D Model

My wife and I wanted a piece of cardio equipment to add to our home gym. We are older athletes and considered an elliptical because we wanted something easy on our joints but would still provide a good workout. We decided instead on the new Concept 2 RowErg. It gives us more flexibility as far as workouts, is easy on the body but still taxing on the heart. When we looked at the price and setup, the RowErg was a no brainer. We have already done a few workouts on it and having this stud of an piece of equipment in the house is sweet. Set it up to do intervals with bodyweight and kettlebell exercises and the possibilities are endless. Great value for the money, set up in least than 20 minutes and shipping was super fast!

I purchased a concept rower so I could build on my home gym and give going out to a gym a break. Having a back injury and numbness in my leg I wanted to slowly build on my rowing and carry on into running. Only weight lifting and doing high intensity workouts with my injuries, I have missed out on building speed and endurance for 2 years. Having this rower has helped me build on these skills and I'm back running and I feel great. The addition of a device holder and the Erg Concept app was a nice surprise. Each day the app has a new wod. You can bluetooth your workout from your app to your rower monitor to log your workouts in the app (and also join in on challenges if that's your thing!). The console pairs with both my Garmin watch and tablet so I can record workouts while also using apps that connect to the tower. So far I have only tried Cityrow but that has been great as I wanted to make sure I worked on my technique since I plan on using the rower frequently.I love running but want to maintain strength and rowing is a full body exercise. I had read that those with bad backs can make it worse, but I've found by doing beginner classes with form guidance that my core is really gaining strength.The rower is noisy but fine with earbuds.The decision over the Concept 2 or a cool machine with a screen was the concern about what happens if the manufacturer stops supporting the machine in a few years as the tech ages. Concept 2s have been in use for decades now and with the built in phone or tablet holder I'm not stuck. Apart from noise I'm not fussed over air, water or magnetic resistance.
