I've been using Contigo's chug water bottles for years and out of all the different versions I like the design of this mouthpiece the best. It's easier to clean than the older version and seems like it will last longer because the overall design has fewer moving pieces that could potentially break.The only reason it's not five stars is because they took away the clip feature I love so much. I loved having the clip built into the cap on their older bottles and I used it all the time. I hope they bring it back in the next version. Additionally, I wish they had more color options for this specific bottle. I'd love a purple, orange, or gray option along with the existing blue and pink.

We have kids in elementary school, and have tried all types of water bottles. This design is our favorite. Slender shape fits nicely in backpack pockets. Lid is easy to open, use, and clean.The one downfall is if it's dropped just the right way, and the lid is damaged, you cannot buy a replacement lid.I don't think having to buy a whole new water bottle is the correct answer to that, at $10 to $20 a pop.

This is....maybe the best water bottle of all time. I LOVE it. Agreeing with other reviewers here - it's a fantastic lid design, it makes so much sense, it's incredibly easy to use and to clean (this makes such a difference!). I love the color - I got it in cucumber. My only complaint - I recently moved and left my water bottle (ugh!), and it's not sold anywhere! I originally got mine from Target, it's not sold there anymore (apparently?), and I can only find it in dragon fruit pink online. Hoping to be able to re-order!
I bought four of these for my family’s recent trip to Disney World. I wanted ‘cheap’ bottles that I didn’t care if they got lost. I also wanted something that kept the mouth piece clean. These bottles are amazing! I was so impressed with them. My whole family loved them. Lightweight, easy to use and clean, locking lid prevented accidental spills. Slim design fits easily in backpack side pocket and all cup holders I encountered. We continue to use them at home. They are our new favorite bottles! I joke they are my favorite Disney souvenir.
I am responding to myself. I LOVED these bottles for 5 months. Then I dropped one and the lid broke. No big deal, I'll purchase a replacement lid, right? Wrong. You can't just purchase a lid, you have to purchase a whole new bottle. In addition to the cost, that is a HUGE amount of plastic waste now that I have a useless water bottle that can't be recycled.
Today was my first time using this water bottle, and I accidentally dropped it on my kitchen floor. Yes, that was my mistake, but apparently that single impact was enough to break the switch that locks/unlocks the lid. Now the switch is loose in there, sometimes making the autopop stick and not work to *open* the lid, definitely making it impossible to lock it. If I could at least get the broken lock piece out, I could open it, but I definitely no longer have the ability to lock it. A single time hitting the ground from a couple feet up should not have destroyed a key function of the water bottle, my first time using it. I recently submitted an online form to customer service regarding this product. I stated how much I like this water bottle, but I needed to replace just a lid since my bottle fell out of my backpack while hiking and the button lock broke, however I was unable to just order a lid. Also, I suggested that the handle have a clip on it for backpacks or belt loops. Their response was to send me a new bottle for free! Wow, that was excellent customer service when I didn't even ask for a replacement! I will continue to use this product but will hope that will update it with a built in clip-on handle.
I love the color, how much water it holds and the fact that the lid locks. My main complaints with all Contigo products is that they CAN NOT survive a fall. I’ve been buying various cups of theirs since I was in high school till now and I have to say these are the most useable after broken. You can still lock it usually and as long as you didn’t break the whole lid apart it still won’t leak. This one I have in purple and it took a good fall from about 10 ft up and it still lock and only leaks on occasion so over all not bad. Don’t ever buy they over priced coffee cup with the fancy button of theirs tho. Biggest regrets once it fall your 40 dollar cup is garbage.
I really wish I could give these 5 stars. I LOVED the older version of these water bottles, which lasted for years until needing replacing. So naturally I bought several of these newer versions. Sadly, the autopop feature on the lid isn’t good. After 2 uses, we couldn’t get the lid to pop open so I had to return it for a replacement. With of of these other colors we ordered, I’m starting to see the same issue after about 4-5 uses. You press the button and nothing happens. I can sometimes pry it open with my fingernails but even that is hit and miss. I’m sad because I was so excited for these water bottles! :(
