My son love hands on activities. When we came across this I had to get it for him. The directions were so easy he was able to complete and activity with out adult help. Both he and I loved it.

Grand kids had a blast with this little science kit! My granddaughter did a TikTok with the Mad scientist screen while doing an experiment and loves it! She loves watching the different colors and creating different things with the reactions.

We have a great time doing them. They are easy, quickly gratifying and give us a chance to talk about chemistry in daily life. I hope it gets them excited for learning more- it seems to have :)

My 10 year old loves to experiment with things so I thought this would be perfect. Both he and his older brother sat for at least an hour mixing and creating their own potions. Lots of laughter, oohs and ahhs were created too.
Neat science experiments for my 8-years old son, who loves to watch science stuff on YouTube. Definitely requires adult supervision, only because the measurements are small. My son liked it, but after watching all the large scale chemical reactions they do on TV/YouTube, his reaction was 'meh'.
My 8 year old daughter enjoyed the 5 things you can do with this kit. Essentially, it is using citric acid and baking soda to make fizzing acid/base neutralizations. Included is red cabbage powder that is used as an indicator for if a liquid is an acid or base, which my daughter thought was really cool. Insctructions are clear and easy to understand.
The first two experiments were simple and they didn’t react when we mixed them together. But we added more soda and acid to get the reaction. My kid was excited and loved it. The last experiment was also cool. I would say that this set got my son interested in science and that was the goal, so I give it 5 stars.
A great introduction for young STEM participants into the world of chemistry and experimentation. Teaches science terms and attention to accurate measurement for science experiments. My grandchildren ages 7 and 9 yrs loved this kit. I have already purchased more of this kit to watch my grandchildren conduct on their own (with adult supervision). A truly "cool" chemistry kit. Thank you National Geographic.
I did this kit with my 4 almost 5 year old. My 7 year old was bored with it and left. The experiments were a bit redundant- basic color changing. The big finale was the fizzing one. Would have liked to see more variety in the experiments. It held attention for my young one and was okay. We bought it on sale. Wouldn’t have gotten it at full price.
This was the best idea for my nephews birthday! He is into science and all thing science related!! There are so many combinations of reactions and projects you can do!!! I almost bought a second one for myself lol
