This air purifier has become a great investment. I suffer from seasonal allergies and have pets. My family and I can tell the difference in the air quality in our home. The air purifier is a bit on the large side but surprisingly lightweight. I haven't had it a month yet, but the 2 filters are to be replaced every 6 mth. A light will come on to let me know it's time to replace and the app will too. Yes, it's wifi enabled and can reorder filters and can control the settings from wherever I am through the app. Gotta love technology! It's mostly quiet until it goes in high speed but you get used to it. It sounds like an oscillating fan on high, to give you an idea. I like the fact that the 400s model can be set on auto and it'll do it's thing, even go into night mode ... MoreThis air purifier has become a great investment. We live in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California and go through months/weeks at a time where the smoke from forest fires can result in air quality in the 700-800's. What a game changer the Airmega is!! I wish I had ordered the Airmega 400S sooner! We love that it covers the entire house and is extremely quiet. Between the cats, dogs, forest fires and pollen, we were in need of cleaner air. If you are still trying to decide if an Airmega is worth getting, then wait no more! Order one today and you will not be disappointed.

Definitely would recommend the product to anyone.

I smoke cigarettes and I bought the 400 S for the upstairs and down stairs of our new house. The machines work great and are not very noisy and they can be set for sleep mode. They also remove cooking odors in the house. Pre-filters and and the charcoal hepa-filter are easy to remove and service. We are extremely happy with the purchase and the service.

Excellent air purification
11 June 2018

Because I have severe allergies, I purchased a Coway Airmega 400S about 4 months ago to help lessen dust, allergens, and pet dander in my home. From almost the first day, the difference in air quality has been amazing. I use this in an open concept living/dining area and notice less dust on surfaces, and my allergy symptoms are definitely improved. I clean the pre-filters about every 2 weeks, and I am always amazed at what is collected. The unit is very sturdy and easy to operate, and I find it very quiet on both the low and medium settings. The high setting is a bit more noisy, but nowhere near the level of some other brands I have owned over the years. Multiple visitors have commented on how clean or fresh the air smells. Filters are very easy to access and clean as well, and the replacement costs seem reasonable. I am so happy with this unit that I purchased a second Coway unit for the bedroom.

Excellent air purifier, terrible WiFi....
9 January 2019

We've had these units for about a month now and I do really like them. Nice air purifier, works well and very quiet and excellent build quality. I researched for weeks and then bought two of them, this 400S and a 300S. My other was the Allen models. I like these AirMega's because they have two separate air intake & filter sets vs. the Allen which only has 1 filter set. They both have smart mode which is another feature I was looking for.The only reason for 4 stars is the WiFi on the 400S is really poor. It drops constantly. The 300S WiFi has never dropped so I know it's not the app on my phone. The WiFI feature (when it's working well) is a nice to have but an unnecessary feature. Basically good for checking filter status quality or to make sure the unit is in ... MoreWe've had these units for about a month now and I do really like them. Keeps dust allergies at bay, can breathe better
20 December 2022

I've been doing a lot of pet-sitting at friend's houses, and one friend in particular had a Coway in every room, and I noticed I could breathe way better at their house than in my apt. My puny off-brand air purifier was clearly not cutting it. My friend had the small, giant-ipod-shuffle looking ones. Seeing as how I live in a 500 SQ ft apartment and I cook often, I decided to go for this 900+ SQ ft covering one instead (because go big or go home). My common breathing problems are definitely because of dust mites, but this helps a lot, especially for all the times I don't vacuum because I don't have the energy for it, this air purifier keeps them at bay. And of course if I do vacuum once a week like I should, I can wake up with a clear head or stay in my introverted ... MoreI've been doing a lot of pet-sitting at friend's houses, and one friend in particular had a Coway in every room, and I noticed I could breathe way better at their house than in my apt. Definitely quickly filters cooking smoke/smells too!

Not the Best Korean Brand...
8 April 2020

As an air purifier... Is okay. Have a Winix (another Korean brand) that is rated for a fourth of the square footage as this and don't find any difference between two in purifying my open-space first floor (dining, kitchen, living room, ...). However, I will say that the Winix is much quicker to act in detecting poor air quality when in auto-mode than this one.Bigger issue though, and why the 1 star, the accompanying app (which is why this 400S model costs more than the 400) is spyware. To use the app you MUST allow access to your files, camera, and location. Why does the app need to access my files? Why must my camera be accessible if I manually enter pairing code? Why does both location AND files need to be accessible even after setup?Other than the privacy ... MoreAs an air purifier... Is okay. Was impressed with the clean, functional Winix app and this one was just a total disappointment. Winix app doesn't require any of those access rights either.Only positive, which is maybe the 1 star, is the modern look. But the invasive, poorly made app ruins the entire experience. If you value your privacy at all skip this. Especially for the price, no need to be data mining.

Powerfully Effective As You Wish
24 January 2022

Received 400S 2 days ahead of date promised. Can’t understand negative feedback seen on some websites. Majority centered around a distasteful order/smell emanating from air ducts. No foul odors were experienced from my unit when powered up. However, should you forget to remove plastic filter protectors before use, I’m certain you’ll experience a toxic blast. Hot plastic tends to do this. The 400S gets to work swiftly with updates informing you if the air is unhealthy by cell phone. A bright green indicator makes you aware of clean air as the red flashes warn of the unhealthy. Unit is as powerfully effective as you want it to be.

Super effective and convenient
14 October 2022

This Wi-Fi version, the Coway Airmega 400s not only, is not only very effective at air purification on the highest setting, it covers a large area and it is super convenient with the Wi-Fi settings to control it via phone and/or remotely. I highly recommend it. It is recommended by some top air quality professionals. Especially if you can get a good price on it.

Very Happy with my Airmega
14 February 2019

Very happy with my Purchase of the AirmegaI have read many reviews about the Airmega which were very positive as to performance of the machine, but very negative when it came to the wireless app. Also of all the air purifiers I look at, the Airmega came out on top as to performance and reliability in all the reviews I read.I have this unit placed in our master bed room/office area where my wife & I spend our time sleeping & working. Since installing the air purifier both my wife and I have been breathing easier and my sinuses do not seem to act up as much. Our master bed room/office area is roughly 627 sq Ft, so at Speed 2 we get a continuous ACH of 6.4 and a sound level that is perfectly tolerable. My operating schedule is to have the purifier on auto mode from 5:30am to 11:30pm for cleaning during the day, then run sleep mode the night while everyone is asleep. I in sleep mode, it is very very quite. You must really concentrate to hear it at allI find the quality of the 400S quite good. The housing is plastic of course, but it is a good thickness and quality.. The 2 HEPA filters fit snugly into the housing and have a foam seal to ensure no or minimal by-passing of air.The controls are intuitive and on the 400S are touch sensitive. The lighting of the unit can be turned off if it becomes bothersome. As far as to thr chime, I do not find that it is that loud.I have the unit on my wireless AT&T U-Verse BG210 modem and the App on iPhone 7 & 8 running iOS 10.2.1, and it has operated flawlessly .I was also able to link it with Alexa, and can do limited control thru it.The app functionality is OK. You can perform basic manual control (power on/off, lights on/off, check filter life). It also has a section to set up an operating schedule. Other features of the app are Smart Mode air quality measurement sensitivity, (hi, med, low), set pre-filter wash frequency notification, & filter life milestones, and any system errors or failures. And contrary to some other reviews, if the app does not work then the only real loss is the scheduling feature and air quality data logging. All of the basic functionality of the unit can be controlled on the unit itself manually.I have read on other reviews and I am reviewing here because hopefully it will help more people.
