I bought this crockpot just over a year ago and I’m so disappointed. I’ve only used it 4-5 times - once to make Pulled BBQ Chicken, twice to make Chili and 1-2 times to make soup - each time my meal was over cooked or burnt. There does not seem to be a difference between and low and high setting. Both settings boil instead of simmer. I don’t know if the switch or temperature controls were faulty but I wish I’d returned instead of trying to adjust my recipe cooking times (recipes I’ve made before with another crockpot and never an issue. If money wasn’t tight, I’d go out and buy a new one. I would definitely NOT recommend!

Terrible appliance. Had corned beef and cabbage cooking when I smelled something . Lifted the crock out of the base and liquid had leaked from the crock and burned on base. Put crock back in to get something to try and wipe it up and when I lifted it out again the bottom was still in the base. This is less than a year old!!! I saw other reviews with same issue. Should have read them first before buying this. I will never buy this brand again!

Good while it lasted
6 August 2022

Got this as a wedding present last summer and really started using it in January this year; probably 3-4 times a month. I love using it for meal prepping and an occasional dinner. Clean up is easy, love the digital feature and was really enjoying using it. Agree with other reviews that it does get very hot, even on low. Not much difference between the 2 settings. While it’s cooking, it’ll make cracking/popping noises every now and then, figured no big deal, just the ceramic adjusting to the heat. Last week it finally cracked. A large crack through the side and bottom. Put water in it and it all leaked out. And best part - this company doesn’t sell replacements. And the company they refer you to doesn’t have any. So 6 months of seldom use… not great.

Hot stuff, baby!

Like other reviews mentioned here, I am noticing that this slow cooker runs VERY HOT; so much so, I would never leave it unattended on high (and with reservations on low) - which kind of defeats the purpose of a dump it and leave it slow cooker! I've had to take this into consideration and adjust the amount of liquid I put in the pot (more than any other cooker I've ever used) or else I'll have a burned bottom! Sometimes you WANT LOW AND SLOW, not boiling, but basically you always end up with boiling in this cooker. Because we are only two in my family, I use my smaller other branded slow cooker more frequently, but when I am making big batches, this large sized pot is awesome. I'm a chronic over-filler, but you can throw in everything, including the kitchen sink ... MoreLike other reviews mentioned here, I am noticing that this slow cooker runs VERY HOT; so much so, I would never leave it unattended on high (and with reservations on low) - which kind of defeats the purpose of a dump it and leave it slow cooker! I'm a chronic over-filler, but you can throw in everything, including the kitchen sink and still have room. I bought it mainly to be able to accommodate large pork and beef roasts for things like pulled pork and shredded beef tacos, which it has handled nicely. I also am looking forward to cooking whole chickens in it, just haven't tried yet. The last programmable Crock Pot branded cooker I had did not have this high heat problem...but the crock liner cracked and rendered it unusable. Because of my past experience, I am scrupulous about allowing this crock to cool completely before washing or putting in the refrigerator. I'm not sure if the larger size of the crocks make them more susceptible to breakage or not - I just know my smaller 80s style slow cooker has just kept on trucking, despite rough usage!

Makes a Huge Mess
11 July 2023

I bought this crock pot for the large size to feed my large family. Unfortunately, I cannot even use it. The lid does seems too small and it does not fit well. Every time I use this crockpot, it splatters liquid out all over the counter. Then I have an electrical appliance sitting in a huge puddle on my counter. It has even been created such a big puddle that it drips onto the floor! After reading the reviews, it seems that I am not the only one to have this problem. I have used many crockpots over the years (I currently own 7 of them). This is the only one that has ever made such a mess! I would love to have a lid that fits this crockpot correctly. I would order a new replacement lid, but I don't want one that's exactly like what I already have.

Single guy secret to avoiding a wife
15 September 2022

I'm a single guy likes great food and if there is away to slow cook while being a way working, then you've got my attention. My first one was a hand me down from my grandmother. I loved it. but it was small and manual. when the pot broke I looked at all models, then I saw the eight quart with digital timer. The sales person even threw in the warmer. I could not have asked for more. I still have it (my mother has tried to keep it several times) and it makes football night a breeze. My MARRIED freinds want to know the secret to my chicken wings and how they are so tender, They can't see the secret right in front of them.

Too hot

I purchased this crockpot after our last one was damaged in Hurricane Ida. I've only had it for a few weeks and had an opportunity to use it yesterday. Its a basic model however, I've always had great success with this product in the past - my last one was 18 years old. I turned it on to prepare dried beans with the proper amount of liquid as I have done dozens of times before (with the older model) After one hour on high, I went into the kitchen to find the beans and liquid at a rolling boil. I turned off the unit and reset it to low temperature and watched it for a few minutes. Return top the kitchen again to fins it again, at a rolling boil on the low setting. I am going to return this unit as it is clearly not functioning properly. I would never leave the house ... MoreI purchased this crockpot after our last one was damaged in Hurricane Ida. Watch your food timing
7 October 2022

I bought this cooker 3 days ago and just made my first dish. Cooked the chicken with a cheese topping as the first part of the recipe and put it on high for 4 hours as instructed. It cooked way too hot! The cheese was browning on the the bottom and sides of the pot and starting to get hard with 23 minutes to go...way too hot instead of "slow" cooking. We'll be sure to subtract time from the suggested cooking time, at least on the high setting. It will be passable until it's time to be replaced but we'll look for another alternative in the future.

Wish I had kept my old slow cooker
28 February 2023

I received this as a Christmas gift. I was so excited as my old slow cooker was much smaller and at least 30 years old. First time I used it for cream cheese spinach dip within 30 minutes the cheese was scorching, even on low. I had to keep stirring to prevent sticking and scorching. I might as well have cooked it in a pot on the stove. Second time I used it I put 2 pork tenderloins I with BBQ sauce, water and seasonings. Even though my recipe called for no liquid, I still added it. Turned the pot on low and set for 8 hours overnight. About 6 hrs into the process, thankfully I got up through the night, and the liquid had burned out and the meat was completely black and dried. It had burned all the liquid out and began to scorch. Slow cookers are supposed to be made to cook overnight. I won't trust this one again. The lid is extremely lightweight, not a good thing, and allows moisture to escape. The lid and/or pot seems to be warped as it doesn't seem like a good fit. I sure wish I had not thrown out my 30 year old slow cooker because as bad as it looked (stained, broken handle) worked miles better than this one. I would not buy this brand ever again and may have to replace this practically brand new one. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because it is a great size.
