I make a delicious fish sandwich using: 1 can Crown Prince tuna in water, 1 can sardines, about 5 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1/4 cup mild onion diced, 1 small dill pickle diced. Everything is mixed together. Then I spread a little Mayo on one slice of all grain bread and I slather the fish mixture on the second slice of bread. I top it with crisp lettuce or thinly sliced cabbage, whichever I have on hand. Yum! Yum!If you decide to try this recipe, it’s an easy recipe to adjust. For instance, replace the dill pickle with a sweeter pickle. Or leave out the onion. Add celery or olives. I heard that tongol tuna had less mercury in it than alabacore and other tunas, so I started buying this product about a year ago. It tastes great (not fishy, almost like chicken) and it has a good cosistency (not mushy like some other brands). I also love that it's just pure tuna and spring water with no added salt or other unecessary ingredients. Since it's unsalted, it tastes very plain, so you have to flavor it up. I mix it in plain Greek yogurt with Himalayan salt, pepper, paprika, hot sauce, and a pinch of a stevia blend. It also tastes great in a salad with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
I am always in the market for low/no salt items. Often these types of items get sold out quickly in the stores, as it seems that many people are looking for similar items.
