Prior to this upgrade, my computer was only marginally usable. My computer, the HP Pavilion dv7 laptop, is a rather nice machine, but the stock RAM - only 4GB - made it difficult to use effectively. Applications would begin to alow up after having as few as three open, and if one happened to be especially intensive (such as a game), there was no hope for a smooth run. With the 16GB kit, this has all changed. The upgrade allows a user to open an almost unnecessarily large number of programs at one time and use them all to their fullest potential. Switching between windows does not come with the lag that previously entailed. And what's more, many games now run at boosted performance, which includes running at higher settings and maintaining a smooth framerate. The bottom line here is that this upgrade is entirely a great decision to make. Once you purchase it, you will not have to worry about constantly slow speeds any longer.

I wanted to upgrade my Samsung laptop NP550P7C-T04CA RAM from 8 to 16 Gig but was not sure about the exact type of memory. I verified on many web sites and in most cases they reported a limit of 8 gig was possible on this laptop.I used Crucial Scanner and it properly identified the type of memory, the maximum capacity and listed many possible combinations of different memory chips. I also felt confident to order from them because I could return the chips in case they would not work in my laptop.I ordered 2 x 8 Gig memory stick, install them and everything worked. I booted my computer, went into the BIOS and voila: 16 gig of ram. I strongly recommend anyone to check with Crucial before they order RAM chips from other web site.

As usual when I needed to add memory to a laptop Crucial came through like a champ. It was so easy to order with the memory tool that searches your computer and recommends which memory is compatible. The first place I ever go to is Crucial when shopping for memory. Out of at least 10 purchases I have only had to return memory once and I think it was my fault because I wasn't paying attention to the speed of the memory. Now as long as I have the Owner's Manual with memory specs. I never have to return an order again.

My memory shipped quickly and was a snap to install. I went from 4G to 16G which is the max that my Toshiba Tecra laptop will support.I bought the extra memory with the hope that it would speed up Firefox and browsing the internet. Sadly, I can not tell any difference at all. It's nice to know that I have the extra memory, but I was expecting (hoping for) much quicker response with Firefox. Firefox should be faster with 4 times the memory, so I might have a Windows or Firefox problem and will probably reload both. With that said, it's been a month since I've installed the memory and I have not had a single problem. Would I buy it again? YES.

I use Chrome a great deal and usually have 50+ Chrome tabs. My PC would slow to a crawl 1-2 times per day with the two 4G DDR3s in my Win8 Dell XPS 15. After installing the two 8G DDR3s, this stopped happening. My memory does not get max'd out and neither does my disk access. The only not-so-great part is that my computer has completely frozen twice since I've installed the new memory. Nothing would work, and I had to hold down the power button for 10 seconds to force the computer to turn off. Once I turned it back on, everything was fine.
