Got this from Currys as it was next day delivery.Excited to put it in my 10 year old Lenovo laptop as my previous had bad sectors and was original standard HDD so lasted quite long.Upon putting it in the computer keeps rebooting itself and says error or something along those lines at the startup before the bios screen.I take it to a friend of mine who is better than me in the technically side of things and he told me what I assumed...faulty SSD...my first thought of it was ita really light and felt so cheap..very cheap plastic ectBut apparently for a SSD to fail before using is odd. Safe to say will not be using this brand ever.Went to another and it worked straight away, albeit slightly more expensive but at least it works!!

My 6-year old Dell Inspiron has been showing its age by slow running especilally at start-up & waking from sleep mode. Doubling its memory made a good improvement but replacing the HDD with a Crucial SDD brought about about a huge improvement with the bonus that the computer runs much more quietly.The disk cloning process was easy - thnks to the online support and videos.Because of this positive experience, I similarly revitalised an old HP laptop, though I did find this more tricky because after cloning, Windows update kicked in to download system drivers which somehow went AWOL.

Great sad especially for the price. I had one in pc for music. One for Xbox 360 and Xbox o e games plugged into my series x external . I have one in my Xbox one x internal. and PS3 internal. Havnt got one for my PS4 yet as I don't need extra external storage. I future I might get the Mx500 for internal uses as it has cache of sorts so better for OS but the bx500 seems perfect so I keep buying them. I have internal NVME with 7000+ read and writes so I know speeds and the bx500 is great for so cheap and as a sata drive easily put in external enclosure for a few quid.
Its a SSD and it works fine.I upgraded my old E6410 laptop to a dual boot: Linux and kept the original Win7 OS, using a bootable USB Linux to do the work.After installing the blank disk and booting to Linux I used 'gparted' to create a slightly larger ntfs partition for Windows and a new ext4 partition for Ubuntu. The "innocent" command 'dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb' blindly copies the old disk, byte-for-byte to the new disk, where sda was the old disk that I attached via an external SATA-USB disk caddy, and sdb was the newly installed disk. You MUST check your own configuration (gparted) to tell you which is which for your own installation - they could be different and you don't want to copy blank space onto your precious old disk! 'dd' took 3.5 hrs to blindly ... I actually had to repeat the whole process above after I messed up the boot mode through my own fault. No problem, I just had to wait again to re-copy the old disk after reformatting the new one.

First attempt at cloning drive failed because the computer shut itself off during the process. Be sure to go into power settings and disable automatic shutdown or sleep mode. Once I did that the cloning succeeded. Second PC was a desktop with a 250GB spinning drive. The SSD is 1 TB. Using the cloning wizard, it wanted to create a 217 GB Windows partition (same size as it was on the spinning drive) and it wanted to blow up the recovery partition to well over 700 GB. Well, that's stupid! It should have kept the recovery partition the same size and increased the Windows partition as ... So I accepted those sizes and did the cloning. Why couldn't the wizard have figured that out? Bottom line - pay attention during the cloning process to make sure the wizard isn't doing something dumb. Both computers are now running much faster than before. My wife is delighted with her new laptop. She says it is now super-fast. B&H sale price was great with free two day delivery.
Small cheap SSD drive needed to replace an existing slow HDD on a friends very old, 10+ years, HP machine. The HP machine was very sluggish (Browsing, Facebook usage, starup) had 8Gb (4Gb x 2) never fully used and a low spec dual core AMD chip with integrated GPU that was never maxed out. So it was the HDD? Copied the drive over, an overnight job, put the new Crucial in and rebooted, at the desktop in seconds rather than minutes. Disk drive is no longer running flat out so browsing has improved. Friend noticed the difference quickly. So a nice cheap upgrade that should keep them going for a couple more years, not the fastest SSD bu they didn't need that.
