Found many Internet warnings that different brands of new memory and old memory may not play nice together, even if CAS latency and ECC/nonECC are the same. Matched old memory using HP Z240 sales literature and CPU/X. In the worst case, could have 16G Crucial memory alone; or, best case, 24G Crucial+HP. Everything played nicely together, and computer is running with 24G.

No issues to speak of. This 16GB kit worked immediately in a AsRock Rack C236M motherboard with Intel Xeon 1280E3v5 CPU. I put this kit through four passes of Passmark MemTest (latest version) and no errors were found. A further 4 hour test with Prime95 revealed no issues. This RAM is being used in a server, so therefore stock clocks and voltages are utilized.

8GB is enough to do basically anything normal on your computer - from browsing, report writing and even AAA gaming (assuming your graphics card and CPU are up to it). Not a bad choice. If you want to get 8GB sticks I recommend this one. It's even cheaper than the krappie fries brand. But i am only using this temporarily while i get enough money to buy 2X16GB sticks to max out my RAM on my MOBO.

I bought Crucial again because of my long experience with their excellent quality and compatibility. Cheaper RAM isn't a bargain if it causes instability or performance problems. I've never had to put extra troubleshooting time into a Crucial RAM upgrade -- just install it and go. The RAM boost gave a nice performance improvement on a system whose user insists on opening too many Exchange mailboxes all at once in Outlook.

People please stop wasting your money on memory with heat spreaders that have not been needed since ddr2. Buying those "fancy" ones encourages manufacturers to get more ridiculous with the designs. Get the slowest common speed available unless you are going for benchmarks. In this case 2133 is fine for a high end pro-sumer workstation. The extra $ for higher speeds yields almost no real world results. This kit is perfect.

This RAM is boring green like it should be. No heat spreaders to make it look cool. What you get is rock solid, reliable RAM that meets Intel's standards for the latest Skylake processor. As always, Crucial RAM is compatible and it works the first time every time. The RAM does not look cool or have glowing LED bits to it. If you have a window on the side of your case perhaps you care about how your RAM looks. If you want compatible, reliable RAM that performs as advertised then this is your product.

The latency is one clock lower than most stuff on the market so its a little more responsive. This ram doesn't have those stupid non-functional,cheap, plastic and/or aluminum that is double side taped heat spreaders to the memory sticks. The big speeds advantages from DDR4 seem to come from memory that can be overclocked. I don't mess around with overclocking ram so I got this ram for my needs. Its a little bit more responsive right out of the box than and cheaper than the fancy ram than can be overclock. Don't expect this to be a huge improvement over DDR3.. some of the test I have seen put it at about 5% faster than ddr3 @ 1600mhz. With this ram turned down to 1600mhz its actually slower than DDR3. This memory does exactly what its supposed to do: be memory! Auto'd right up to 2133 on an ASRock X99 WS without having to configure a thing. If you're gonna overclock your memory it wouldn't hurt to have heat spreaders of course, but this basic 2133 memory wouldn't even be on your radar anyway. My con is frankly silly, but hey, had to come up w/something. When pressing the RAM in it digs in to your fingers a bit. With heatsink'd memory its wider and doesn't do this. Oh well...

I'm giving this RAM 5 stars, because it passes successfully any stress test and I haven't found one faulty batch yet.BE AWARE, I have found a very specific issue with the following motherboard:ASUS H110i-PLUSIf you leave the default configurations as detected by the BIOS by reading the RAM information, several addresses of the RAM will be shown as faulty because somehow all of them are "misaligned" by a few blocks.To overcome this issue, override the latency (tCAS) from the default of 15 to 16, you may also try the following reported compatible latencies for this RAM: 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19.
