Works like a charm. Glad I am able to have multiple applications opened at once, to help with productivity but also multitasking of free time and needed leisure to have music and games and even the search engine in the background all at once. It sure is the dream to have 16GB of RAM for my computer. Get 32GB if you’re really going to open many more things at once if you read this review! You won’t regret it!

This appears to be a better match for my system than the RAM which came pre-installed. I upgraded from 12 to 16 GB, but more importantly, I believe, it was more compatible with the speed of my CPU and motherboard.I had been having frequent freezes and auto restarts, but now it runs smoothly.

I upgrade and repair computers as a hobby. I purchased four of these memory modules to upgrade an older HPZ240 to 64GB of RAM. The computer is more robust and applications load much faster. Don't get me wrong, I also installed a 2TB Crucial NVME drive and that's where a majority of the speed improvements came from. However, the additional memory did play a significant role in overall system performance and stability.

I got this particular product because it was the same model number as the 16GB RAM module that came with my system. My motherboard has 2 memory slots, so I decided to get a matching stick and upgrade while prices are low. Word on the street is that it's better to get 2 sticks at a time, as the manufacturers can test out pairs ahead of time and make sure there are no problems between the pairs, but I've had no problems in the month and a half I've been running both. I didn't do much testing to compare 16GB single channel vs 32GB dual channel. My CPU-Z Bench CPU test scores went up 5.6% for single thread and 3.3% for multi thread. So, maybe a small performance boost from having memory running in dual channel. I'm sure I'll see a noticeable change once I'm doing real video work again and using much more than 16GB memory.
Best packaging I've ever seen. Extremely well packed. Exactly as advertised. Works perfectly. Thank you!
As per manufacture's website: Crucial 8GB DDR4-2400 UDIMM CT8G4DFD824A Specs: DDR4 PC4-19200 • CL=17 • Dual Ranked • x8 based • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR4-2400 • 1.2V • 1024Meg x 64 • Memory's sticker labels product as CT8G4DFD824A. After closer inspection, the chips and circuitry on the board of RAM are slightly different than my original 8GB stick of the same model which is a dual ranked. Also, the only sticker on this chip is the label itself, no other "warranty void" stickers on the chip. I install the RAM and run CPU-Z for chip information. It lists the following information: module manufactured by Crucial Technology, DRAM manufactured by Micron Technology, and part number CT8G4DFD824A but it is a single ranked chip. It lists the following information: module manufactured by Crucial Technology, DRAM manufactured by Micron Technology, and part number CT8G4DFD824A but it is a single ranked chip. My original chip shows up as dual ranked in CPU-Z. The first RAM I received from the seller was labeled as CT8G4SFD824A 8GB DDR4-2400 UDIMM 1.2V CL17 on the sticker. As per the manufacturer's website, CT8G4SFD824A is a SODIMM chip. I cannot confirm whether this is an issue of manufacturer defect by mislabeling chips or if this is actually a counterfeit chip but the specs are not as they are advertised by the maker so I feel that a 1 egg rating is in order.
My first set of chips didn't work, so I sent them back. When the second set of chips didn't work, I asked for assistance, because something was fishy. Turns out, it can sometimes take a very long time to train a laptop to use the chips. I had been waiting a normal amount of time, not a very long time. Had a simple note been placed in the packaging, I wouldn't have had to spend for return shipping and crucial wouldn't have had to send me another set at their expense. It was a colossal waste of time for everybody. A simple fix is all that's needed. Include a note to be patient and let the chip be discovered.
I have a Dell Inspiron 3260 with limited opportunity for memory upgrade. My computer had slowed-down considerably, when performing tasks, even with more than 50% of hard drive free space available. The extra 8GB of RAM added increased the processing speed considerably and was a good 'first option' for me.
My RAM came in on time and unharmed, but reading reviews from other Crucial products has brought about suspicions of Chinese interception or imposure upon the exports, which is strange since my draw in the lot worked out so well. I say techromancy because this RAM brought an old Dell Optiplex 780 back from the dead, and now it runs beautifully in all of it's DDR3 glory. Games run well (Light games, of course, I'm rocking a Core2 CPU), work programs run well, my order performs within expectations as I have run the benchmarks, it's good! Techromancy, I say, TECHROMANCY~. If you have an old computer kicking around, or want to kick around an old computer, Crucial has the RAM to snuff as long as they can get the product to you! Very impressed!
Second time I've used the Crucial system scan to determine my PC upgrade options (the first was for a bigger SSD). Doing so I was able to determine which RAM to buy and price options. RAM works great and I now have 64GB of RAM instead of the 16GB that the PC was sold with.
