CTEK MXS 3.8 12V Battery Charger

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this battery charger made in Sweden. It is well made and was easy to set up. I felt quite safe using it and it worked as expected. The only disappointment was the fact the optional 'comfort adapter' eyelets wouldn't fit the battery terminal screws in my car. I have since learnt that there are several comfort adapter sizes available but just the one was included in this kit. Presumably it is the most common size. I am thinking of drilling or filing the eyelet holes to make them fit as the size difference seems minimal.

Better Value than the Marine version

My old Marine CTEK charger died. I spoke to CTEK customer support who said that the 3.8 was both a better and cheaper charger. As long as it wasn't likely to be openly exposed to a marine environment it would be worth considering. So i did. As with all CTEK chargers it works perfectly and maintains my starter battery without missing a beat. However... Anyone considering installing a 3.8 in their boat be aware, one thing they didn't tell me was the 3.8 doesn't come with the huge length of cable the Marine version does, probably about 500mm as opposed to about 3m. My Electrics cabinet is very close to my engine bay, but still not close enough. I had to extend the charge wire.

C tek the best chargers

I own a small farm lots of power equipment that gets used intermittently used to have endless problems with sulphated batteries until about 15 years ago I was put onto the need for maintenance chargers. Since then I've tried many brands of charger all of which have eventually failed especially during winter time in damp tractor sheds the only ones to survive are ctek. CTEK MXS 3.8 Smart Battery Charger

Set & forget Charger. Connect it up & walk away, the charger will do the rest. The extra cash for the silicone sleeve is worthwhile if you can find one. The plating on the bulldog clips seems to be better quality than what you might usually get & the clips are fully insulated. I had never heard of this brand but a suggestion on a forum somewhere made me look & I' m glad I did because the one I had in mind was a series of decisions you have to make with the buttons. This is set & forget - no drama at all & overcharge proof. If your battery is sitting for some time then this is the answer - the higher [5] amperage one would be faster but this one works fine & charges fast enough my application [2020 i30 N Line sitting idle for weeks at a time - 550CCA battery].

Ctek 12v and 24v Chargers.

I have had Ctek chargers for years. They have safed me from normally having to replace discharged batteries on my Cars, Landcruiser, Truck and motorbikes. My other chargers will not recondition and/or restore flat batteries. As long as there is at least 1.5 volts or more....a Ctek will bring it back. I have the - 0.8, 3.8, 7 and 15 Amp Hr 12 volts and the 14 Amp Hr 24 volt Cteks for all my gear....for the mower, key start generator, jetski, boats, motorbikes, cars, 4WD, off road camper, Trucks, and Excavators. They are just awesome. Nothing comes close to a Ctek. Cheers Rob

Great Charger

I bought this to leave attached to my Jet Ski whilst not in use and it works perfectly. Very easy to install and connect/disconnect.

Great company to deal with, long warranty. Does everything as described. Keeps car, ride on mower and spare batteries charged

Awesome charger

No output voltage

This product appeared to have good features and it was on sale. Unfortunately it tuned out worthless to me, after a few minutes of being connected to the battery, the error LED just flashes. I attempted a few times and tested the output to see zero volts!Returned to store only to be told there is a no replacement warranty.

Small, compact, and takes up very little room when stored in my car's glovebox.

It's a no-frills battery charger/maintainer and it did exactly what I expected it to do! It is self regulating and can sense whether the battery needs recharging or already fully charged. And the low charging rate means that it does not cook the battery. A 5-star rating.

Very Handy Device

This trickle feed charger is a life saver. My car which only is used for car shows and events was often close to having a flat battery due to irregular use. Now I never have to worry. Simple to connect and the battery always is ready to go. A great imvestment.
