CTEK MXS 3.8 Multi Functional 7-stage Battery Charger 3.8 A

Very pleased with CTek 3.8 charger/conditioner. I have a diesel stop/start automatic, and the original AGM battery (after very light mileage) started to fail. Replaced with new AGM battery, and keeping car on charge all the time now to get the most life out of battery. The CTek is great. It shows the charging/pulse state, and I know CTek units are good, as I used one previously to keep a camper van charged up ready for seasonal use. Tayna were great. On line order was despatched and delivered really fast. Couldn't recommend any more highly.

I've been using budget chargers for years, to leave for lengthy periods connected to cars and motorcycles which are used infrequently. They do the job but don't last indefinitely, so you discover that the battery is flat even though it's been hooked up. I was buying a big battery for the daily driver and have had problems with the AGM battery in a trackday car, so decided to just bite the bullet and get this charger, as recommended by Tayna for the Odyssey battery, even though it's four times the price of the budget ones. Does what it says on the Tin!

A battery charger should charge batteries, this it does. EBay's rating system only allows for yes/no to the question "Is it Good Value". There are many cheaper chargers out there, so maybe this unit is not "Good Value", but it is a quality piece of kit and I feel it is well worth the asking price. I have used a larger version of this charger for many years, and apart from the connector in the middle of the output cable failing, it has been faultless. I bought this smaller version as it can usefully charge smaller 12v batteries safely, this it does without any problems. It usefully has a 'stand-by' feature if you leave it powered up without being connected to a battery, my old unit did not have this feature. Very pleased with my new charger.

Efficient Battery charger and conditioner

This is neat and compact product, that is easy to plug up and use. The system of sensor lights provide a clear indication of the condition of the battery and the stage of the charging activity. It can be used safely to recharge a discharged battery and to maintain its condition when the vehicle is out of regular use even in frosty conditions. Suitable for car and motorbike batteries. Highly recommended by users, it comes with a 5yr warranty.

Great little package

Really good little charger, really easy to use once you have connected the connector to the battery. However, you don’t need the additional connector that is recommended as it is already in the pack (unless you have a second battery)The extension cable is also too short to be off any use unless you can park next to a door or window. I just hooked it up to the battery and closed the bonnet with the cable fed out and plugged it into an extension cable.

Long term battery maintenance

Excellent. Just what I needed. Left permanently connected to my occasional use car in the garage. Should result in long and happy battery life!

Modern Car Charger

Only having a very old charger and now using the car infrequently I bought this to keep the battery on my Mk3 Focus in a good state. Easy to understand and use and much more flexible than the old fashioned chargers.

Size doesn’t matter.

Luckily I’ve not had to use the charger yet.But being much much smaller than my previous charger I’ll be able to get the bonnet down with the charger inside…Although slightly worried I’ll not be able to find it as it’s so small.

Very good quality product that does what it says it does.

Easy to use. if you have a car that doesn't get used regularly, it can be left connected without fear of overcharging. Comes with a good bag which keeps things together and protects it. Previously I bought a cheap Chinese charger which made all the same claims, it charged the first battery fine but wouldn't work after that. I have several vehicles, some had tired batteries which didn't hold there charges very long, I have charged them all with no problem, and it has brought the tired ones back to life. I can't see any downside to it.

Worth every penny for the charge you get.

I've owned a CTEK MXS 5.0 for a few years and it's always done a perfect job in keeping an old vehicle,s battery and electrics in great condition. This MXS 3.8 seems to work just as well on a newer car that as not being used as frequently as is ideal, due to lock-downs and it means I can avoid a potential flat battery. The benefit of the CTEK looking after your car and battery with the battery in situ is a great feature and has never given me any problems except on this newer car, the remote battery terminal points are quite wide apart and the CTEK connecting cables limited length means it's a bit of a close stretch, but it works fine. This is my only reason for marking this well made, robust and efficient unit down by one star.worth every penny.
