l love love love my Cuisinart Elemental food processor. I bought it a few years ago and immediately thought that maybe I had made a mistakes in purchasing such a powerful processor. It's also a bit large and has a lot of accessories so the entire set takes up quite a bit of space. I used it once to prep some food for a huge party then didn't use it again for over a year. I thought about selling it, but then I decided to just put it to use. Once I really got the hang of it, it was game over. I use it so much now. I shred whole blocks of cheese, makes purees, make nut spreads, make salsas, slice veggies, spiralize zucchini; the possibilities are endless. A processor that can’t process?

We’ve used it 3 times: once for peppers and onion for gumbo, one for graham crackers for a pie crust, and once for crumb pie topping. The peppers were either paste or the one inch chunks we put in. The graham crackers just wouldn’t move around so we had sand on the bottom and whole crackers on the top. The crumb topping would not break up the one inch butter cubes. We dumped them into a bowl and used a hand pastry blender. I’d think a basic standard for a food processor would be to cut butter. Also, the bowl locks in right over the controls so you have to stand to the side to see them. We’re returning it today.

Cuisinart Food Processor SSL-100GM❤️
17 November 2022

I got this as a gift like 2 years ago for Christmas, and It's Been sitting in the back of my cupboard since then. I honestly forgot I had it, until today. My son and I were making some holiday candy recipes, and turns out the EXACT appliance I was desperately needing was here this whole time! Cuisinart Food processor came to my rescue, and saved our holiday candy treats for all of our friends and family. I only wish I had remembered that I had it sooner, as I probably wouldn't have burnt up my hand mixer along the way. Lol. Thanks Cuisinart!

Good price, works well, but too much plastic
29 August 2023

I bought this at a good price for a food processor from Target (under $100) , having purchased many Cuisinart appliances. Have owned it about a month. Easy to use and clean. I used it once so far to make peanut butter from roasted peanuts. I wish there was less plastic and more metal for durability. I would be willing to pay a bit more to have it come with a dough hook. I would recommend this.

Kudos to Cuisinart
29 January 2023

I purchased this food processor and I was so disappointed when I could not get it to work but the price I paid for this Cuisinart was too good to send it back, so I waited for a less busy day when I could take care of it. That day didn't come but my son found time to call the company and even though I had waited the company was able to trouble shoot the problem - over the phone - and determined it was a faulty part so they sent me a complete bowl replacement! I so appreciate a company that stands behind their product like Cuisinart has and does! I will continue to buy Cuisinart! My pumpkin scones are almost done baking! Gotta go!!

My first processor
7 May 2022

Have only used it three times as of yet, so this will be more of a first impression commentary. It is my first processor (have had a few blenders) and after some research I thought I'd give this a try. Only two of us usually, so the size was important. Didn't need the 16 cup behemoths, nor the minis. This size is just right. After reading the instructions and figuring out how the cup and lid works, it is easy to use. The blade and two discs are easy to fit and are of a good gauge. The base has a good heft and does not dance around on the counter when in use. The motor is definitely strong. The overall build feels sturdy and I feel I can expect a long relationship. One caution tho--if you hand wash your dishes, as I do, be careful washing the blade unit as they are ... MoreHave only used it three times as of yet, so this will be more of a first impression commentary. Not sure about the quality
9 September 2023

Being a cuisinart I expect this food processor to last. It feels cheaply made and the center post is wobbly. I returned the first one I bought thinking it was defective and confining it with Cuisinart. The second one came and it is just as wobbly. I spoke with Cuisinart again and was told this is how it is designed. This isn’t my first food processor but the first one that is built with a wobbly center post. We shall see if it holds up. It does work as intended.

Sharp blades

This is a long story but there is a moral at the end.It was just past midnight. Everyone was asleep. I stood over the sink, holding my thumb, staring blankly at all the blood dripping out, not believing what had just happened. If there ever was a Bounty moment, this was it. Unfortunately I only had the Kirkland brand and it soaked through immediately. This called for drastic measures. I wrapped a bandaid tightly around the wound and then folded and wrapped 2 paper towels around it and tightly wrapped 5 rubber bands as tourniquet. I guess this is triage a field medic would do. It soaked through but it seemed to hold after awhile. At this point, I just wanted to sleep so I got into bed, tossing and turning for couple of hours. Should I go to ER or urgent care? It soaked through but it seemed to hold after awhile. At this point, I just wanted to sleep so I got into bed, tossing and turning for couple of hours. Should I go to ER or urgent care? Too much trouble. Besides, all they would be able to offer is a glue for the cut and possible blood infusion to make up for the blood loss. Probably overthinking. I need to reassess in the morning.Several hours later, I woke up. Great sign! I took off the blood soaked paper towels and the bandaid and saw some signs of clotting. It started to bleed profusely again though. So I redid the tried and true wrapping method but this time with 3 paper towels. I didn’t want to be walking around looking like a biohazard. So how did I get here?Back in 1989, I made a purchase of a Black and Decker food processor. It was a small one and we seldom use it. But it still works great! Over the years I have looked at newer models with all the bells and whistles and have been tempted to replace it. But that B&D kept on working. It had chips and cracks all over the bowl, the body was discolored. It wasn’t pretty. Well, this Sunday, I strolled through Costco and I saw a large Cuisinart food processor on sale. It was big, bold, and beautiful. My wife asked do we really need it since it’s been years since we last used a processor. But at this point, the temptation ( and the price) was too great. I brought it home and it sat on the counter until midnight last night. I decided to wash the blades and as I was drying the blade, my thumb went across the chopping blade and sliced the top of the thumb off. I stood there stunned as I saw a large chunk of my thumb just laying on that blade. It was so sharp that my skin offered no resistance at all. I’ve cut myself many times before but never had I seen a blade as sharp as this. This is when I began to think, the grass is not always greener on the other side. I’ve had a 33 year relationship with that B&D.Next month, my 32nd anniversary will be celebrated. You can bet I won’t be looking to upgrade another thing.I’m still trying to figure out what to use the food processor after all these years because I really have seldom use for it. I did put through a whole stick of pepperoni through it in about 15 sec so there is that. It felt someone prematurely finished as I stood there and thought I guess I’m done. But do be careful. The blades are sharp.

Why did I wait so long?

I haven’t owned a food processor for several years, thinking they take up too much space and aren’t used all that often. Recently though, I’d really gotten tired of grating cheese and worrying about scraped knuckles. So after reading multiple reviews and making comparisons, I ordered the Elemental 8. Let me just say, it’s been one of the happiest purchases I’ve made in a long while. It was easy to set up, and I really liked the click security feature of attaching the basket and lid. The first thing I noticed during its maiden run, was how quietly it sailed through its task! Not at all the noisy crashing I remember from my old processor.
