D-Link AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 VDSL2/ ADSL2+ Modem Router with VoIP
The future is unstoppable, your Wi-Fi should be too. Wi-Fi 6 brings next-generation Wi-Fi technology into your home, giving the quantum leap in capacity, speed and range you need to handle all your Wi-Fi demands. Perfect for high-performance, device-dense Smart Homes. Connect More, Congest Less with OFDMA The DSL-X1852E uses Wi-Fi 6’s cutting-edge Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) technology. Small data packets destined for multiple devices are transmitted together and never have to queue up again. Perfect for Smart Homes filled with bandwidth-hungry IoT devices battling for bandwidth. Two-Way MU-MIMO MU-MIMO technology helps distribute the flow of data to multiple devices simultaneously. With Wi-Fi 6 technology the DSL-X1852E leverages the multi-user version of OFDMA and MU-MIMO for better efficiency of upstream and downstream transmissions, unlike previous Wi-Fi 5 technology where MU-MIMO could only operate simultaneously in downstream transmissions. This combination greatly increases capacity, coverage and performance in ultra-high-density environments. Extended Coverage, Reduced Interference High-gain antennas, built-in power amplifiers and beamforming technology allow the DSL-X1852E to extend the reach of your Wi-Fi and focus a stronger signal in the direction of your devices to ensure a stronger, faster and more reliable Wi-Fi experience. Meanwhile a long OFDM symbol ensures even greater Wi-Fi range, especially outside the home. The Future of Wireless Encryption One of the biggest concerns with IoT devices and Wi-Fi networks is privacy. The latest industry-standard 128-bit encryption is the most advanced security standard available and begins a new era of wireless encryption, ensuring greater privacy throughout users’ devices and networks.

The unit runs like it's on fire. Wi-Fi 6 is standout. No more worrying about whether to connect to 2.4 or 5 GHz. Wi-Fi speeds max out my internet plan. Love it. The router decides whats the best connection for the device. Only downside was my internet provider wouldn't give me the VoIP settings for "security reasons." The phone then had to be configured to connect from Tuitahi's internal ONT

Well, I bought this unit, which is sitting in its box at another location. It'll stay there until UFB eventually becomes available in that region. This is marketed as a DSL-capable unit with ADSL2 support. As I discovered, it supports PPPoE, and ISPs offering ADSL typically offer PPPoA only. So, for my purposes, it doesn't work and probably won't work for most ADSL users. Aside from all that, I believe it will be fine for Fibre and 4G, but I cannot test that. However, people need to be warned of the PPPoA problem before purchasing.

Old modem died on me, decided to upgrade to a better one. Installed and see no improvement in internet speed. Wifi signal was strong though. So, upgraded NBN package to 100mbps. Microwave usage interfering old modem was an issue for me as well. But doesnt affect this modem which was a plus. Overall great product for the price. Looks great in the living room as well.

I purchased this on 18/2/22. At that time, there were no reviews or mentions of it online, which was the first warning sign. I installed and configured the modem, and after 2 days of troubleshooting with D-Link, it was found to be faulty. The internet connection and 5GHz WiFi band worked great. However, the 2.4GHz WiFi band did not. Also, the DHCP server was glitchy. Some hard-wired devices would not be assigned an IP. Other times no devices would. Performing a firmware update did not help. I swapped the modem with another model and on 23/2/22 found the same issues. Whilst the swap and return process at Officeworks was lengthy, the staff were courteous and helpful. D-Link chat support was also very quick and understanding. The UI for the modem was quick but didn't ... MoreI purchased this on 18/2/22. D-Link chat support was also very quick and understanding. The UI for the modem was quick but didn't show all the details I would want, such as reports on what devices were connected to what band, load, etc. There is also no app for this modem. I need a FTTN DSL modem and was looking for one that supported SOS-ROC and WiFi 6E. At time of writing, this was the only one I could find. I suspect this modem was brand new, and perhaps contains a few bugs. Hopefully this review will save someone a few days of troubleshooting headaches. I wouldn't recommend it with firmware AU_1.10 or AU_1.11.
While the set-up was not as bad as others have reported, my issue is the ongoing performance of the modem. I think that I would need to reset the modem on an almost daily basis due to connectivity issues with my WiFi. The modem indicates that there is no issue (all lights are green) but every device connected to the network indicates that there is no network, or the internet cannot be provided via the network. It is quite infuriating how often I need to do this, especially considering the price that I paid for this thing. If I had my time over I would buy something altogether different.
Excellent unit, good signal output and can handle multiple users very well. We have six. Setup is a more difficult than it needs to be. At the “Username and password” stage the setup wizard would not accept its own default password! Go figure!! If you are not confident with IT hardware setup, this is not the one for you.
I purchase this a month ago now and has been the best modem router that I've owned. The setup process was very easy for both the internet and VoIP. It did initially have a few issues the smart connect within the wireless settings but once i disabled it has been faultless. The WIFI range is very good and can handle a family of 5 with multiple devices each no problem at all. I would recommend this product.
I purchased because this was the only one that had the VOIP connection in store. My ISP went through the configuration for their service and it failed to connect. I then went to D-Link Tech support and did the same thing and it failed to connect. I returned to the retailer and they gave me my money back. I have gone back to my original modem.
Brought this ADSL modem router as my old ASUS DSL modem/router was overheating. I could not get this unit to connect to the internet despite hours on the phone to my provider and the manufacturers help desks. Eventually D-link agreed that there must be someting wrong with the modem and have agreed to replace it through Harvey Norman. I am hopeing that I dont have the same problem with the replacement.
Product works great. There were a few hickups during install so you might need to be able to play around with the setup. You may need support if you can't work these things out. It was very basic but I had to deviate from the instructions and do a little Google searching. I paid full price for online purchase and could have gotten it significantly cheaper in store, so do this if possible.
