The driver materials, crossover design and geometry applied in the OBERON series has been selected to achieve a wide dispersion pattern. The rounded edges and rustic fabric of these new DALI front grilles add a lighter and more contemporary visual look to the OBERON series. The OBERON woofer features a wood fibre cone with a blend of fine grain paper pulp, reinforced with wood fibres, which creates a stiff, light-weight and well-behaving structure. In combination with a low-loss surround and spider suspension, this cone reproduces the micro details in the signal - unfiltered and with high accuracy. The iron pole piece of the OBERON woofer magnet is crowned by a patented SMC disk - minimizing the negative effects of the iron.

Check the separation, depth and detail of large audience responses at live events! I am very impressed by the natural sound qualities of these speakers, compared to a variety of devices I have used at length in the past. These include Spendor BCI, Tannoy Mercury and Mission models.I was introduced to Dali speakers by Stephen, of Richer Sounds Glasgow, who suggested they could be suitable for my Jazz, Voice and Orchestral tastes. If you happen to be fortunate enough to have a lounge of ballroom proportions this model is not for you, however, Dali market larger systems which incorporate all the important design aspects of this baby of the Oberon range, and more. There is a wealth of data online, covering Dali innovations, design aims and products.Although costly, compared to some popular small speakers, this option could possibly generate considerable interest among people looking for a really competent and revealing portrayal of their musical preferences. Oberon 1 works extremely well with my Cambridge Audio Topaz AM10 amp. There are alternative amplifiers, but in a new system with budgetary considerations, now is a good time to buy Cambridge as new/more expensive Cambridge budget products are being introduced.I am very aware of musical instrument/ensemble sound qualities. I spent 20 years of my working life as a London based professional musician, performing in Recording Studio, Broadcasting, Concert, Theatre and Jazz environments. Outside comparison with exotic speaker set-ups - Stacked QUAD Electrostatic demonstrations by Audio T spring to mind - these units provide very nicely detailed & balanced musical delivery, with only a fleeting perception of lack of controlled very low frequencies. They really are Little Music Boxes! Great in modest spaces.

Dali Spector 2s were the suggested speakers with Denon Mini System. But on advice from staff at Richer Sounds near Holborn I also listened to the Oberon 1s in their demo room. The difference was significant. And while obviously there are much more expensive and better systems out there - for the price this combination sound really amazing for the price (compared to everything else I’ve listened to. The Dali Oberon 1s are really fun when pared with the Denon DM41.

Exceptional product, exceptional service

I’m new to owning a record player and was fortunate enough to acquire a pre-owned amp, so I needed to invest in speakers that would not be too expansive, but that also provided some of the best sound I could get for the price.Research led me to Dali and the Oberon 1 model. I ordered these on a Saturday from Richer Sounds and by the Monday, they had arrived. I was kept up to date the whole time via text and email and I cannot fault the service. As a somewhat, impulse purchase too, I really valued being able to order the item and then have it arrive so quickly. It helps keep my excitement up!The speakers themselves are very high quality, beautifully made and were simple, even for a record player novice like myself, to install. The sound is incredible. I have a Bose soundbar for my television and that pales in comparison to the quality of these speakers. Bass is nice and thuddy, everything sounds clean with no distortion. Look forward to using them as much as possible.

A couple of weeks ago I visited my local (Maidstone, Kent) store looking for a pair of stand-mount speakers, amp and accessories to use with a newly purchased LG oled TV in my sitting room. I didn’t want a soundbar aa I have future plans to addd a turntable. After speaking with one of the staff, Ben, I opted for a pair of Dali Oberon 1s, Tangent Ampster BT II some stands and cables. A couple of days later all of the items were available for collection. I was expecting a significant improvement over the TVs in-built sound but what I got when I connected and switched it all on was nothing short of amazing! You can hear every sound in glorious detail. Great sound, lacking a little bass

I had planned on buying a pair of Spektor 2s but visited the Guilford store to confirm my choice. The team suggested that my amp (Marantz PM7000N) warranted a step up. I would always recommend a visit unless you're 100% sure of your choice as (if nothing else) you'll get a second opinion.Overall I'm really happy with these speakers. They pick out detail well and (bass aside) could easily trick me into thinking they are bigger than they are. I'm only around 15 hours in to listening with them so expect they will just get better. As you'd expect from speakers this size they can lack bass at lower volumes but not to a point that they annoy. I'm going to try them alongside my subwoofer but most likely I'll put it back in the cupboard afterwards! Thanks to the team in ... MoreI had planned on buying a pair of Spektor 2s but visited the Guilford store to confirm my choice. Lyrics for the first time- fantastic sound

'Boyo' am I happy that I chose these speakers to sit on my desktop, alongside my computer even though their position is rather unconventional. My Bowers and Wilkins were over 10 years old and had suffered damage to the tweeters during rough handling at a teenage party resulting in a rasping sound in the higher frequency register. Small and compact my Dali Oberon 1 speakers emitted a sound that was pure bliss, making the lyrics of songs I had previously missed, crystal clear. The light oak finish matched my desktop - a deep brown or even black grille might have improved the looks rather than the grey - but then again the function of a speaker is the sound and not the looks (perhaps a lesson that one should buy in store not online). New HiFi Separates

Was looking online at getting a new hifi for the first time in many years. I had previously used Richer Sounds many years back and had no hesitation using them again this time. The guys in the Glasgow store couldn't be more helpful when I called to discuss what I was looking for and it was Peter who helped me pick the pieces I needed that fitted my budget. Very happy with new hifi. The Dali Oberon 1 speakers sound great matched with the Cambridge Audio amplifier and the TEAC CD recorder and tape deck. Bit of nostalgia having all this again to play my large vinyl collection on (already had compatible turntable).Would recommend using Richer Sounds and I would use again too!

Richer Sounds Milton Keynes were really helpfull letting me try these out against other speaks I was considering, all set up on the Cambridge CXA61 I was looking to buy with. These Dali's won out as they handled lyrics so beautifully. Others had a bit more bass or pressence, but I just kept coming back to that vocal clarity. On the day I actually took the risk and "upgraded" to the Opticon 1s without hearing them. Unfortunately I hadn't realised they had even less bass than the Oberon 1's so was a little underwhelmed in that department. Richer Sounds were really helpful and swapped them for the Oberon 1's I loved so much, even though I had used them for a few days.Set up at home the Oberon 1's sound great in my small home office. but try a pair of the discontinued Dali Zensor 1 bookshelf speakers. It will annoy you intensely, if youve just bought a pair of these, as I did. The Zensor 1 designs are almost identical AND they sound much livelier compared to the mildly sat-on presentation of the much more expensive Oberon 1s. The same thing applies to the Zensor 3/Oberon 3, incidentally. Zensor 1s are available used for around 100. At least as good, possibly better than the Oberons.
