My coffee comes out nice and hot, and you have to remember if you only shoot two ounces of coffee and the rest is cream, it's going to be cold. With a little tweaking in the app and adding more coffee and less milk is a perfect cup of coffee. I'm running lavazza beans and grind setting from Delonghi is perfect. Setup is a breeze and the coffee tastes wonderful. Machine is much quieter than the breville. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. A plumbed water line would be a nice, you will be filling the water often if your a heavy coffee drinker. Always have a extra cup sitting on the side, since it cleans itself after every time you use the lattego. Bought this 01/04/23 to replace my faithful manual coffee machine. Absolutely loving it, but only giving four stars as the coffee is definitely not hot, even on the Max setting. Early CHRISTmas present for the hubs! Wow! Effortless set up, I literally plugged it in and the machine told me what to do, it was so easy to figure out. ( I’m not one to read directions…lol) but they do come with directions and later I found the booklet very helpful with fine tuning and programming my favorites. Also has an app but the app is supposedly very finicky with terrible reviews so i never tried it.8. Put a small rubber coaster on the tray to avoid scratching.9. Keep a small glass prep container on the tray to catch liquids and reduce the water that goes into the tray to reduce number of times emptying.10. Continually refine your coffee making skills until you make perfect coffee drinks.11. Only use fresh coffee in your new machine.12. Enjoy the coffee making.13. Savor the coffee aroma and flavor!When i purchased this particular Delonghi machine, i read the instruction manual several times to fully understand the machine. I'm a big espresso drinker and have owned Delonghi machines for the last 11 years. Overall the DP is a good machine. I had bought and returned a Gaggia Babila machine purchased through another company because it would not properly froth nut-based milks and creamers (Soy, Oatmilk, etc.). I was very interested in the plug in milk jug on the DP and its frothing capabilities. Overall, this machine makes wonderful a espresso (we use Illy medium roast beans) and the latte system is fantastic (as advertised). For those reasons, I gave it 4 stars. There are many areas where the machine could improve to get 5 stars. This is not an intuitive machine. Even after watching all the videos, you will still have questions. Customer Support is not much help as I seemed to know more about the machine than they did. As others have stated, the app is not good. Sometimes it takes multiple openings and closing of the app before it finally connects. Once it does connect, it provides a good user experience. You can program the quantity and strength for most drinks, but not all. As an example, when preparing a Doppio espresso, the app allows you to save your strength setting but when close the app, it does not remember your setting the next time you open it. On other drinks such as a basic espresso, it does remember what you saved. There appears to be a couple of drinks that you simply cannot control the strength, which makes no sense. If you try to program the same Doppio drink on the touchpad screen of the machine, it will also not allow you to choose a strength setting and the default is "extra light". Lastly, the machine will not provide a true double shot of espresso (meaning complete 2 separate grind cycles). It simply runs more water through the pod. This is not a true Doppio. What's frustrating is the machine is capable of doing this as there is a "Long" drink setting which will complete 2 full grind cycles but does so at a "lower pressure" to mimic a lighter, pod coffee experience. Who wants that? I bought the machine for espresso, why not include the ability to grind 2 full espresso shots? Other machines on the market are capable of providing 2 complete grind cycles (Gaggia that I previously mentioned) so Delonghi should include this on a $1700 machine. If you can take the time to learn about this machine, then like me you will adapt and figure out how to make it work for you. Others have commented on earlier models and have complained about the temperature of their drinks not being hot enough. This newer model has an extra hot setting so I have not experienced any issues with temperature of the coffee or the milk. Occasionally I use a Soy milk or an Oat milk creamer for a fun drink and the machine is incredible at producing a gorgeous froth/foam. So overall I am happy with the purchase but I believe Delonghi needs to fix the app problems immediately. It is not ok for a large company to release a crappy app. Please invest the time and money to improve the user experience!

I bought this Machine to replace My Breville Barista Pro- As its heating elements failed for a second time within two years on two machines. I was super exited as it was delivered to me yesterday. As I set up the machine, and filled with the coffee beans and tried making from an expresso, to regular coffee, I kept getting a message to add beans to the basket while it was filled with beans. I contacted DeLonghi customer service and they asked for access to my phone camera to see the message being displayed on the screen. After some time, they advised me to vacuum the basket out and if that did not work to send a ticket with proof of purchase for repair. I am like why would I do that? I just purchased this machine, and what if it was a gift? The price even on sale is expensive.2. Even when set to the max temp setting I have to microwave for 30 seconds.
