De'Longhi La Specialista Arte Espresso Coffee Machine - Silver - O/S

So after looking around and checking out different coffee machines this came up as one of the best around, once it arrived and it was all set up and ready to go. Which was very easy, with alittle playing around I got the right bean grind for the type of beans I was using.The different baskets for single and double are good you just need to remember to change it on the machine too, the steam wand is good but make sure you clean it straight away or the hole will block.Overall really love this machine and would recommend it to any coffee lover.

Pros: The coffee that it makes is of a high standard once you have played with it and adjusted it to your taste. We followed the set up instructions which were fairly easy. The milk frother is amazing and this ensures your coffee stays warm for a longer time. We have yet to watch the YouTube videos on milk art, but want to. It looks very stylish on our worktop and is relatively simple to use once you've made a few cups. I would advise experimenting where you put the product in terms of ease of filling with water, access to milk steamer and ease of making the coffee. Have no need to go out and buy a coffee when I can make one just as nice at home!Cons: The milk frother is noisy particularly when you have guests chatting around the table like we did. They had to keep stopping their conversation until we had made the 4 coffees. There are lots of parts, which some sit nicely on the machine, however some can look a little untidy. I might find a section in a drawer to store them in. Naturally there is coffee grounds mess but as we become more confident in using the machine I am sure this will improve.

Pros: Makes really good coffee, very easily! Even my non coffee drinking partner has managed to serve a good drink from this, and I'm an ex-barista (AKA picky)! Once everything is set up (and it does take some tweaking with the grinder and dosage to that) it's very consistent, the tamp guide is hard to get wrong and if you do somehow over or under dose / tamp / get the wrong grind it's very clear from the gauge that it's going to be under extracted or burned. Preset settings do just fine and you can adjust them if you need to. There's plenty here to play with if you want to make the perfect espresso, but it's straightforward enough that a novice (or anyone at 4am before their first coffee) can get really good results with minimal effort. The steamer produced good results with both dairy and plant milks, and even if you don't know how to froth correctly it still produces enough froth for a flat white. Also handy for making a decadent hot chocolate! Water tank is a good size and the bean hopper stores plenty too. Cleaning is straightforward and anywhere that is likely to get dirty quickly (steam wand, drip tray, portafilter etc) are all easy to clean down or take apart. Can't fault the whole bean to cup system, there is nothing in this world like a fresh grind to cup.Definitely worth it if you are seeking a truly good coffee. Worth getting out of bed early for to enjoy a peaceful drink before having to face the world!Cons: Only minor points here, the drip tray scratches very easily. On my first use putting a mug underneath to flush through the system before first use (and it was just an average mug) and the tray had mild scratching. Now it has seen more use this is more prominent. Takes a while to get set up and you will go through a fair amount of beans getting there. The quick start guide is helpful though! Milk jug is fairly small, you can get enough for one small cappucino in there and that is skimming the top of the jug as you get up to temperature. Seem to get some water left in the portafilter after use, it's not blocked but just seems all the water didn't come through. Not the end of the world but if you're not careful it can be spilled and no one likes cleaning up wet coffee grounds. It isn't the easiest to get the single/double measures out either. But on the flip side once they're in they are definitely not going anywhere!Despite being a fairly hefty unit, it does move across the worktop when twisting the portafilter in. Perhaps I just have very smooth worktops.

The machine is easy to use and the control panel is not overcomplicated, giving you at the same time all the control you need to make your barista-quality coffee.It comes with a quick guide, but I really recommend downloading the full manual from the De’Longhi website, as it explains the whole process in more detail.Then you only need to put in the coffee beans and water, turn it on and you are ready to go.It takes around two and half minutes to make a coffee from bean to cup, and when you follow the process it's a perfect cup of coffee every time. Cleaning is also easy, the manual shows you what can be washed by hand and what can go into the washing machine.Some tips for beginners:-Measure the water hardness in your house with the supplied kit, and program it into the machine. It will help to determine when you need to go through descaling (descaling kit also included).-Keep it clean, I can't stress enough how important it is to take care of the machine, so the machine can take care of your coffee!-Make a couple of cups using the factory setting, but after that… watch a couple of YT videos or read some tutorials, don't be afraid to play with the settings - as that will allow you to make the best cup of coffee you ever had.The machine is just amazing and suitable for beginners but also for more experienced users. And always remember, brewing coffee is science, but fun science!Cons: It is expensive, but it's a premium product - you can have a “coffee” without it or buy it and have a Coffee!But the biggest downside that I can see is, that after using it… you will never enjoy a coffee that hasn't been made with this machine :)

Good basic coffee machine

I received the La Specialista Arte for an anniversary gift. I am quite happy with the machine and the quality of coffee it brews after around 6 months of use. My only flaw with it is a design flaw with the bean hopper and burr grinder. You are unable to remove the bean hopper and clean the burrs, unlike other machines like the Breville equivalent which is super easy to do such task with the turn of a knob and the hopper is blocked and lifted off the machine. Other than this pretty happy with it. It would be great to see such a feature implemented in the future. The tamper has a nice weight to it and feels very solid.

Pros: The coffee machine looks sleek, is quite small and fits well in my kitchen. The actual coffee machine has equipment to prevent the coffee powder from spilling everywhere once the beans are crushed to turn into powder. I like how the machine has three levels of temperature adjustment, dosing level settings and three options of hot water, espresso and americano as options in making a drink. The froth maker is a great addition as well and really add's a nice touch to the experience of making a real coffee. Pros: An aesthetically pleasing, fantastic little machine. I am very happy with the coffee quality and would without a doubt recommend to anyone looking to take their first step to a bean to coffee machine!Cons: Few people have already highlighted this already; the temperature even at the highest setting is too cold, however a minute or two in the microwave resolves this.

Velo have a very good price, prompt delivery and also include some velo coffee

Nice surprise to get some of their coffee to start off my machine.As for the machine itself, it gets the job done.The steam wand is a bit less powerful than ones you'd see in coffee shops so it took a bit more technique to get the milk spinning (hold jug at a sharp angle)The machine and accessories are very good build quality, but you'll need a mat to put under the machine as it easily moves when putting in the group head.You'll be up and running making coffee in about 10 minutes of setup. Only suggestion i have for Velo, is to include a recommended grind setting for the beans they include, that would be next level awesome.
