Contrast Ratio and Eye Strain - 3000:1, or 1000:1

I found that the 1000:1 contrast ratio on the S2721HN is actually friendlier to my eyes, less strain than the 3000:1 contrast ratio of the SE2722H. Both are excellent monitors, but for being on a computer hours every day, I prefer the lower contrast ratio, as there is less intensity of contrast between the brightest and darkest pixels. Contrast is poor

I bought this specifically because the 3000:1 was far superior to other monitors in this price range. The contrast is pretty poor; blacks look gray unless I lower the brightness to the point where whites look gray. I'd say it's on par with other monitors advertising 1000:1 ratio. The settings in the monitor are lacking too. There is no gamma adjustment. There are a lot of preset modes; RPG is my favorite. Not a lot of manual settings. I'd say it's worth the low price I paid for it but the falsely-advertised high contrast ratio leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Easy to install and use.
25 October 2022

Love it! It was easy to install. It is well designed. It is easy to plug-in to the back of the screen, both the electrical outlet connection cable and the connection to my CPU cable. And, the monitor enables me to gently tilt the screen for great viewing. It is a sturdy tilt and doesn't wiggle-around while I'm viewing the screen & I can just leave it at that angle without having to readjust it each time I use my computer. I'm so happy to have a Dell Monitor. Viewing the screen is clear and easy on the eyes. (I also love the Dell Optical Wired Mouse MS 116 (Black) mouse device that I recently received!) Dell is the best brand. Thank you, Dell.

Excellent at this price point
19 December 2022

Bought the Dell SE2422H as a tag along display to my 2nd gen Macbook Pro M1 to use with MSOffice apps, social type games, YouTube viewing, etc. Most work done with it revolves around community gatherings of sorts. So, to me, I didn't need the latest 4k, 5k resolution but a low price yet sharp display with a very goods text resolution and acceptable video screening, as the main viewing point is a video projector. I find UHD display do a better job at that than the latest high resolution display. The Dell's Text definition is excellent, as is the color rendering and warmth of videos. To that end, I highly recommend the SE2422H while it is still being offered. Couldn't do better than this dislay.

Good but seriously flawed machine
9 October 2022

Generally a good machine but with serious faults: a) The S - version of Windows Home causes too many restrictions, need just the plain Home version b) Automatically providing Windows Edge with its overload of ads and Bing News flashes and inability to have a permanent Bookmarks column on the left of screen. c) Intrusive McAffee antivirus which is impossible to remove in order to install my existing, licenced G Data Antivirus d) Various other undeletable files such as Dell assistant. I want to be in control of programs on my machine not vice versa, I chose this machine because of my favourable experience with my Dell desktop and monitor. Good monitor for the price

Good monitor for the price. It provides more screen real estate than previous VGA monitor. getting the video contrast, brightness, color depth to be where i liked it to some bit of trial and error since i'm not a video expert. out of the box, the default settings needed tweaked. that is probably going to be a personal preference for most people. so far, i have no complaints, but i've only been using for a couple days. assembly was easy, don't really need instructions. however, the box contents show i am supposed to also have a VGA cable. if so, it was not in the package. will contact support

The monitor is a great deal and it works super well. A shoutout to the Jimmy Boh from Dell store Serangoon Nex. He is a great advisor on Dell products, super efficient, reliable and trustworthy! Really good to have a live interaction with him! Also appreciate Dell point to point purchase. The whole process is smooth with good integration from digital to human delivery. Dell website with updated data in a timely accurate manner. All these things matter and give added confidence to Dell's trustworthiness.

Overall good monitor - may not be ideal for MBP
3 December 2021

The monitor was decent quality overall. Hardware: Monitor was solid, mounting options, stand was fairly sturdy compared to others in this price-point. The matte anti-glare screen is great and I prefer that over gloss. Connections: Great for this price-point, I did not expect any USB or data connections, the HDMI and VGA was expected and worked. Screen Resolution quality: This pertains to all monitors that are HD (native 1920 x 1080) and MacBooks w Retina displays. Although this is HD level resolution, it may look good for videos, gaming, but for actual computer work with text, the quality is poor. This is using the default display resolution via HDMI and I used 3 different MacBook Pros from 2015 w direct HDMI to 2020 with USB-C to HDMI dongle (This is running from a MacBook Pros that has a Retina display which is higher pixel density). I gave this monitor 4 stars, because part of this is related to the device sending the signal and its capabilities (MacBook Pro). There are a lot of articles online about this "issue" and potential solutions from third-party display apps, font smoothing adjustments to just getting monitors with higher PPI. I ended up getting another monitor that was 2560 x 1440 (Quad HD) and it renders much better on that monitor.

Three Brand New SE2422H Monitors Terrible Quality
31 January 2022

First the Dell Technical people I have talked to regarding problems with these monitors have been great and have done all they can to try and resolve the problems with the 3 brand new monitors they have sent to me. The design quality in these monitors is terrible. All three brand new monitors wobble left and right and up and down every time you turn the monitor on. If you have to touch the monitor screen for anything the monitor moves and wobbles. Very poor design and I'm astonished that the Dell engineers would push a monitor out to the market that have obvious structural problems. Also, the first monitor that was delivered not only had the wobbling problem but also the quality of the picture was terrible. I read a lot of other reviews on this monitor and most of the people said it was a great monitor. Don't understand how any of you who gave this monitor a high rating could live with the wobble on this monitor every time you touch the screen!
