I have the Dell U2718Q 27 UltraSharp 4K monitor at home that I use while not at work but the P2719HC does just what I need it to while I'm at work.Obviously if you're a gamer you might want to go with the 4k but this monitor is definitely the best bang for the buck. It comes with a display port cable instead of an HDMI cable which is sweet because it provides a better quality then using a traditional (lol I can't believe in using traditional to describe an) HDMI cable. It also comes with a USB type-C cable which was really nice so I can charge my phone right next to me on my desk. Also I have not experienced any problems with screen burn/ fade or coloring issues that I heard could be the case if you have a mac OS. The monitor is only HD quality and while there are more and more 2k and 4k monitors with USB-C, they're still very expensive. I don't mind the lower resolution (omg, I can't believe I am calling HD low resolution, remember the VGA days?!) of the monitor compared to the built-in retina monitor. Note that the display only delivers about 60 watts to the laptop but most USB-C cables can only handle 60 watts anyway.I want to purchase another as a dual monitor setup eventually. I'd love to see how the DisplayPort works with the USB-C connection.Solid monitor, especially if you want USB-C and don't mind the 1920 x 1080 resolution.

I paid at least $50 extra to be able to use the USB-C charging feature on this model vs. P2719H. After a few days there was a buzzing sound coming from the monitor, too loud to ignore. After searching online, I see there are others who have noticed this problem, and it has to do with using the USB-C cable to charge a laptop while connected to the monitor, which the monitor is supposed to be able to do. I am now using the much shorter Thunderbolt 3 cable that came with my laptop, instead of the USB and so far it is not buzzing, but I am skeptical as to whether this has resolved the issue. The bottom line is I find the buzzing sound unacceptable, I wish I had known about it before I bought this model, and I did not think the Dell responses on the Dell community ... MoreI paid at least $50 extra to be able to use the USB-C charging feature on this model vs. P2719H. I don't have the time to do an exchange right now, and it would end up costing me money to ship it back, so I may not be able to resolve this for myself, but at the very least I wanted to let others know about this issue. Again, I would not have bought this model if I had known, hence the 1 star.

I'm withdrawing one star because the first unit that came in the mail was not working (backlight was broken so it was impossible to see what was on the screen) and I had to wait 2 weeks to get a replacement (free of charge). The end result was fine but Customer Service could've been more communicative along the process. The screen is fabulous. When you take it out of the box, you realize how massive it is and the hinge it attaches to is so polyvalent. This ease of movement was really the thing that sold me on this monitor. It may not be higher than 1080p but for the common folk working on spreadsheets, it's more than fine.USB-C is a dream. The ability to daisy-chain devices is awesome and saves a lot of cables on the desk. USB-C is awesome.
It's nice to underpromise and overdeliver. However since Dell chose to make some pretty powerful statements on their website about how great this monitor is, there was little chance they could do the overdelivering part. Yet they did. The monitor is literally perfect. So much so, I just bought another one. I needed a solid monitor to use with my MacBook 12". The MacBook 12" has only one port (USB-C) which in my day to day mobile life, has never been an issue ( I know people complain about that and could never figure out why). So I wanted a monitor that would have a single USB-C to C cable (which this monitor comes with!), taking care of the AV and power. I also wanted the monitor to have plenty of standard USB ports to handle anything else I may throw at it (now that I am making my laptop into a desktop). It had all that. It got better. The display itself is really great. I have zero complaints. It got better. This was the easiest stand I have ever experienced. Setting up the monitor was so easy I actually thought I forgot to do something. It got better when I remembered how little I paid for this (purchased directly from the Dell site. It got better when I stepped back and looked at the desk. The monitor looks great on and off. The best advice I can give to Dell about how to make this monitor better is to not try to make this monitor better.
This monitor is great. Does the job perfectly as a monitor. The hub however, is crazy good. The difference in cost is minimal between the model with and without the hub, whereas a standalone hub with the same capability is a couple hundred. Way better value if you need a new monitor and a Laptop hub.
Image and video quality is really good, but shocked at how pixelated and fuzzy fonts and SVGS are. I'm coming from a Mac screen to this, and I guess I just didn't realize monitors were still this bad today. Had to get a new chord and mess with some settings (I'm using a Mac Mini) before I could stand to work with the thing. If you do any kind of web work or design work, I recommend just spending the extra money for the 4k to get something better. I would've liked to exchange it but customer service was no help and the shipping cost and restocking cost were just too much to make it not worth the hassle for me right now. I do like the size however, I really like the width and height and that it can rotate side to side and vertically. Great monitor for working from home. They daisy chain together excellent with the included Display Port cable and the laptop connection with USB-C is perfect since it charges my laptop! No longer need a docking station, just 2 of these! Great adjustments for hieght, swivel, and tilt. I had to buy 2 more for my wife since I felt jealous that my setup was so great! Only critism is that the Display USB ports only work on the display with the USB-C laptop connection. I wish both worked, but I stll have 4 on the 1 monitor for connecting a mouse, keyboard, printer, and Webcam. Dell did a great job with these! Thanks!
I'm surprised there are not more reviews on this amazing P2719HC monitor. If you’re a Mac user, this is the one to get. I originally bought a U2719q 4K to use with my mid-2010 Mac Pro with 280X video card. The 4K was too much for the system and I was unable to boot into the monitor plus there was random flickering. To get the 4K to work, I had to boot into an older monitor then switch cables to the display port. Forget that. In addition, the 4K had a native resolution that made items on the screen truly miniscule. I can't imagine anyone being able to work with this on a daily basis. The only recourse was to set the resolution to a lower number completely defeating the purpose of the 4K monitor. Forget that! Dell returns were amazing and assigned me a person to make sure I was happy. No restocking or other fee.I was sold on this monitor when I talked to my business rep at Dell and he told me this is the monitor that the sales teams use in their offices. This P2719HC monitor is beautiful and bright and crisp. Colors are stunning. I’m able to plug in my Mac Pro (mini-Display port to Display Port) and any other macs I have directly using the USB-C port. I don’t know of another Dell Monitor that has this plug (I'm no expert). So get this monitor. You will be very happy you did.
I purposely purchased this monitor because of my experience with the P2419H that comes with the new Dell desktops that are bought by schools (University specifically). I was able to use that one at school for my dissertation graphics. At the start of the pandemic, I had to work on these from home and was severely struggling with just my laptop. I did a bunch of research and settled on getting the larger version of the same monitor.I am extremely pleased with this monitor. The USB-C cord *can* be the only cord you need to connect to your laptop. However!! This is completely dependent on the USB-C port on your laptop or desktop. Do not assume that the USB-C port on your laptop will automatically perform everything that this monitor suggests. My laptop is not the newest (but not old either) so the USB-C port is not able to be used for displaying or for the laptop charging option. There is no adapter that can make this an option either, so be mindful of that.Overall, I love this monitor and I hope to get a second one as soon as I get a desk big enough! I don't know if it works well with a wall mount as I haven't tried any. I highly recommend.
