Crazy good monitor, replaced my Dell IPS 34in ultrawide from 2019. The fonts are super crisp with the higher resolution. Using with a M2 Macbook Air, set resolution to 3840x1620 to match MacOS scaling is the key so the UI is just large enough to see properly. Cannot do 120hz with my M2 Macbook Air (not monitor fault). When I plug in my windows laptops, it does 120hz no issue, just set the font scaling for your preference in Windows 11 and you are set. I mainly use this for MS Office and browsing for work and it def takes strange off my eyes with the blue light blocking and the crisp fonts. The speaker quality lacks bass compared to older 34in Dell, but its ok as I just use it for Zoom/Teams calls. Issue 1 - The auto-brightness feature is useless. If I cover the sensor it only goes down to 9%, 9%, 9% (low, mid, high). I want it to be 0% With my room light turned on: 9%, 14%, 24% (LMH). I want it to be 80%. To get the display to go above 24% I need to shine my phone flash, point blank, into the sensor, giving me a reading of 22%, 65%, 96%. !!!! I should be able to 1) set an "output" min/max brightness (ie: 0%/80%), 2) based on an "calibrated/input/room" brightness (ie: "night time", "day time", "lit room"). Similarly, when in P3 mode, RBG content looks saturated. The whole operating system/drivers/hardware integration/implementation seems premature.

The size specs of Dell's UltraSharp 40 Curved Thunderbolt Monitor are perfect and the 5K resolution is impressive. Unlike other typical large size monitors, this monitor extends in a curved landscape orientation that I feel is easier on the eyes from a left to right perspective, versus jumping up and down. The number of different inputs and built-in speakers are a very nice touch to this monitor. What should be noted however is if a user is connecting a laptop via a docking station, it's important to understand that the docking station isn't limited and able to support the 5k monitor requirements, or Dell propose a recommended docking station solution(s) upgrade for laptop users whereby the integrated hub is not able to meet the need. The Dell 4025QW is a very good display for productivity and light gaming. It requires fairly recent hardware for optimal use. I purchased this monitor for work and occasional gaming. It is not fully compatible with 10th gen intel laptops like the dell latitude 5411. I was hoping it would work with my latitude 5411 but it is not. I had to upgrade my laptop to a newer one with an 11th+ gen intel CPU that supports thunderbolt 4 or USB4. With the older 10th gen CPU, the maximum resolution 5120 x 2160 can only be run at 30hz, which is not ideal. And with the older, thunderbolt 3 laptop, I was having connectivity issues. The laptop or monitor would drop the thunderbolt connection multiple times a day and send the monitor to standby. This monitor is very close to the U4021QW, but there are some things that set it apart in addition to one concern. First, the thunderbolt hub monitors are so much better than having a docking station. I have one power cable to plug in the monitor and one thunderbolt connection to my laptop. It really cleans up my desk and reduces the amount of cables that I have to use. Second, the positive improvements that the U4025QW have compared to the U4021QW are IPS Black Technology, better brightness, better contrast ratio, and a better refresh rate. I also really like the drop down USB A/C ports on the bottom of the monitor. You can push the drop down back up into the monitor to hide the ports if you don't want to use them. They come in handy to charge your phone, plug in your headphones for charging, or plug in a USB A receiver if you are still using a mouse that isn't Bluetooth. I wish there were specific printed instructions on using the KVM feature. I figured it out after playing with it a bit. The monitor does a decent job walking you through the setup, but I prefer printed instructions in the box. The one concern that I have is that it appears to be using a Displayport 1.4 connection which can only do 60hz. If you use that Displayport you won't get to fullest capability of 120hz out of this monitor. I wish Dell would have put a Displayport 2.1 connection in the monitor. In conclusion, I think it is a really good monitor, but I don't think it is worth the extra cost compared to the U4021QW.
I was provided this 40-inch monitor by my company as I needed a dual-monitor setup for my productivity workflow, but my small home office couldn't accommodate two separate screens. This monitor turned out to be the perfect solution, fitting the available space well. After three weeks of use, I’m very satisfied with its performance. One feature I particularly enjoy is the "Easy Memory" software, which allows me to have all my applications load at startup in specified screen locations, saving me setup time every day. Additionally, I use the monitor as a KVM switch between a laptop and a workstation. The shortcut I set up on the Dell software on each machine lets me switch between the two effortlessly without needing to touch the physical screen controls. While the monitor also offers Picture-by-Picture (PBP) and Picture-in-Picture (PIP) modes, I find that 40 inches isn’t quite large enough to fully benefit from PBP for dual-machine use. If space allows, a 43-inch monitor might be a better option for those wanting to take full advantage of this feature.I’ve had to adjust the DPI on my mouse due to the increased screen real estate, but this is comparable to navigating a dual-monitor setup. Overall, I feel like this monitor has made a big difference to my workflow - enabling me to see more of the data I am working with in one go and write my reports.
At this price point, it is very much not refined enough. Although this is the only ultrawide 4k monitor with high refresh rate. To start with some goods: - Built-in PSU - Good stand with cable management - Good amount of USB downstream ports - Thank you! - 90W PD3.0 charging - 2.5GbE - The slight curve is not disturbing compared to more curved 32 inch monitors Then here is a long list of small issues: Software/DDM: - Adjusting brightness through the DDM on Windows is slow, taking multiple seconds, but this issue does not occur on macOS. - When switching between KVM upstreams using DDM, the HUD appears - Installation of DDM on macOS fails if the user is not part of the 'staff' group, even if the user has admin - Cannot program joystick direction to directly be a ... MoreAt this price point, it is very much not refined enough. Always need to press any joystick button then select a short cut with the scrolling menu - There is no option to save user presets for PBP/PIP configurations - Does not work on macOS over HDMI without USB connection Thunderbolt: - Occasionally, the monitor fails connect display data correctly, although downstream usb/thunderbolt devices still function. Need to replug the monitor's power to fix. - The monitor does not act as two separate monitors in split screen/PBP mode, which is particularly an issue for macOS, as it does not support DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport. Hardware: - The pop-out USB ports are oriented horizontally, which is inconvenient because the monitor's overhang obstructs access when plugging in or removing cables. - The USB hub does not remain connected when the monitor is turned off. - There is no brightness control when the monitor is in HDR mode - this might be a limitation by the standard, but minimum and maximum brightness levels could still be adjustable - Auto Colour Temperature keep switching between warm and cold in a dark room - Below average panel compared to other premium 4k 32inch monitors (QD-OLED / Mini LED), 10bit colour needs FRC - VRR only has a minimum refresh rate of 49Hz - No DisplayPort 2.0 so requires DSC With the launch price soon decreased by 25%, it probably should get another 25% off to be really good value.
The Dell U4025QW is a fantastic productivity booster! It enables you to see more of what you're working on with less frequent swapping between windows. It's also amazing for wide spreadsheets as it helps minimize horizontal scrolling. The gentle 2500R curve is absolutely a win. I tried an 1800R curved screen a few years back and felt like it distorted documents and text to the point it was distracting and returned it. I'm happy to report that is not the case with this monitor as the curve is much more subtle. My previous work setup consisted of a Dell 32" 4k USB-C hub monitor in extended desktop mode in conjunction with my Precision 5480 laptop. My previous work setup consisted of a Dell 32" 4k USB-C hub monitor in extended desktop mode in conjunction with my Precision 5480 laptop. I'll admit, it took a bit of trial and error to figure out how to position all my applications with the added space the U4025QW provides, but after a few days of playing around with it I found a happy medium. For the time being, I still have my laptop setup next to the U4025QW in extended desktop mode, but I've been keeping everything on the big screen - occasionally it's nice to have the additional space of the laptop screen but will likely close it up day to day and rely solely on the ultrawide (just need to pick up a webcam first). Other pros: - The integrated Thunderbolt 4 hub provides speedy access to my corporate network and peripherals (keyboard, mouse, DVD drive and the occasional USB flash drive). - The monitor as a whole feels very well constructed and the stand is very sturdy as well. - IPS Black truly helps with the contrast ratio - 120Hz is a plus - particularly when scrolling through long documents and websites Cons: - Perhaps the screen bezels are a bit large but it's hardly worth mentioning. - There's no doubt the asking price is high, ultimately you get what you pay for. Full disclosure, I received this monitor as part of the Dell Seed Program - very thankful to be included! The fact of the matter is, I bought one for use in my home office as well - it's that enjoyable to use.
I was replacing a 5K retina iMac Pro, so I was nervous about this, but a 27 monitor wasn't enough for my aging eyes anymore. I really wanted the other Apple brand 34 monitor, but we all know how expensive and old that technology is. And their other monitors are also 27, so Apple was out. After watching a lot of videos and reading reviews, I landed on this monitor as a companion to my new Mac Studio. While this monitor does not hold up to the Retina display quality, it is good enough. I don't mean that as a knock. I mean it's a high quality monitor that is what you need it to be. It doesn't output at Apple nit levels, but in my office (which has 6 curtained windows), I never used the Apple brightness over 1/3rd of what it could do. I don't mean that as a knock. I mean it's a high quality monitor that is what you need it to be. It doesn't output at Apple nit levels, but in my office (which has 6 curtained windows), I never used the Apple brightness over 1/3rd of what it could do. I have used this monitor at full brightness with the curtains pulled back, and it's more than enough. I'm torn on the matte finish of the display. On one hand, it has almost no glare, which is great! But I'm just used to the glossy/glassy coating on Apple which feels like a crystal clear image, where on this monitor, if your font is too small, you can start to see the pixel breakdown. But once you get everything configured properly, you won't want to go back.I got this monitor because I needed more space on the desktop (the virtual desktop I mean) and because my eyes are aging or degrading (I have double vision and other undiagnosed eye problems, so I'm not the average user). After switching to this monitor, I have less strain on my eyes. I don't know if it is due to the larger screen (I am using about the same font size though) or was due to the glossy screen I was using before. As far as quality, you can find plenty of reviews on the color gamut and quality. I'm no expert, but the image clarity and color space appears to be great. I don't notice any washout or bright spots on the display. If you pair this with a Mac studio, you'll be very happy.

You can’t go wrong with this monitor… Yes it is expensive, but it is WELL WORRH IT, and I could not be more pleased with my purchase! If you’re looking for the best of the best for Productivity but enjoy a little gaming on the side (in my case, Microsoft Flight Simulator is my Vice, then you owe it to yourself to give this monitor a try. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. It is simply the best monitor currently on the market, PERIOD… Oh and I completely forgot to mention that it comes complete with a full fledged, full featured thunderbolt 4/USB/USB-C dock built in with at least 12 ports, a feature set that would cost an extra $300-$400 on its own as a standalone dock if it wasn’t built into this monitor, including 140W charging over USB-C/Thunderbolt, enough power to charge a brand new MacBook Pro at FULL SPEED! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
