Dell UltraSharp U2422H 23.8" FHD IPS WLED Monitor

Bought specifically and only (and paying more) for the USB C - USB C functionality only to find out after getting home, unboxing, and extensive Googling that the monitor is not compatible with MacBooks with USB C-only connections. Therefore a complete waste of money as would have bought a cheaper non-USB C monitor instead. DISAPPOINTED that there was no mention of this non-compatibility anywhere in the specs or product description.Would like to say it has a fabulous picture, or something positive, but as I can't use it with my Macbook I can't see it unless I trek back to the store to buy an adapter. Feel extremely let down by the lack of transparent pre-purchase information.

Disappointed

I'm a long time Dell fan. This includes multiple Dell UltraSharp monitors over the years. I own 5 of them right now. I gravitate toward this line as I like to do photo editing. This U2422H is easily the worst UltraSharp monitor I've ever purchased. As compared to others I own, I find it to be dim. The colors look faded and uninteresting. Fonts are not very sharp and hard to read at a distance. The edge lighting leaves a visible change in the brightness around the outside of the screen. I did spend an hour or so with a very nice Dell tech support person just to make sure the problem was not on my end. I'm very sorry to say that this monitor's performance is disappointing and being returned.

Good Color and Clarity, But Not Quite As Good As My Old Dell Monitor

I have been buying Dell monitors exclusively for many years now after being disappointed with other brands in the same price range (around $300). I have been very pleased with all of my previous Dell monitors, but I noticed a slight difference with my new Dell UltraSharp U2422H monitor. The display is sharp and clear, but I noticed on my desktop that colors in the light cyan/white range do not display as clearly in some images. I have an identical desktop image of very colorful Easter eggs mirrored on both monitors. There is one egg with a lot of cyan and white that is clear on my old Dell monitor but somewhat washed out. Great Monitor

These are great monitors. The images are sharp and the text is easy to read, even at the highest resolution. Prior to these I had a 2015 27-inch iMac and except for the size difference, I don't feel I gave up much with these monitors.I connected these two monitors to a Mac Mini M2 Pro. Be advised that the monitors I bought are expecting either a HDMI or DP cable from the computer. The Mac Mini M2 Pro only has ONE HDMI port and NO DP port. If you are buying one of these monitors to use with a Mac Mini, then you will need an HDMI cable (not supplied with the monitor).To make both monitors work I installed one with a HDMI cable and the second monitor with a USB-C to HDMI converter, then the converter to the second monitor using a HDMI cable. If your computer has one DP port, then you can daisy chain them. In order to daisy chain these two monitors with the Mac Mini M2 Pro, I believe you need a converter to change a USB-C to DP (or a HDMI to DP) and connect that to one monitor, then you can daisy chain the two monitors together with a DP to DP cable (the DP cables are provided).There is another similar monitor to this with more connectivity ports. I suggest you talk with a B&H customer service representative to find out which is the easiest to set up with your particular computer system. The directions to dairy chain using DP cables is in the directions included with the monitor. You can also download their manual from the internet.

Great successor in a long line of Ultra Sharp Monitors

So far, the performance has been good. I have not edited photos yet, which is the reason for purchasing the Ultra Sharp monitors. I encountered two issues with the installation, First, the USB connection cable supplied by Dell is too short. Mine was three feet long and barely reached the computer, that is located not that far from the monitor, but in a desk computer compartment. Initially I had to use two 12" USB extension cables for a front connection and then one when I was able to move it to the back. I ended up purchasing a 6' cable and eliminating the extension. Having previously owned an Ultra Sharp monitor, I was aware that Plug 'n Play was not an end-state, especially if you calibrate.

Ideal for business monitor

The Dell U2422H is an ideal monitor for business with a display that is easy to read when composing technical documents or working with graphics. It renders internet videos and media with stunning quality and contrast. Its energy consumption is low in accordance with current standards. The display includes all the necessary video and usb ports for easy integration into a desktop or docking station configuration and its VESA standard mounting bracket makes it compatible with third party display brackets or usable with the included fully adjustable stand.

MUST use supplied DP cable for second monitor if daisy-chaining.

Purchase mostly for DP daisy chain capability which worked as intended. Only con; must use the supplied DP cable for the 2nd monitor. Tried another cable and did not work. That condition should be clearly labeled in the documentation and on the cable, and at the port which it is not. I only found it in the user manual after the original cable did not work. Only lucky I found it. Now I worry about someone else later using a different cord and not knowing why that wont work.

Nice monitor, terrible quick-start manual

I am constantly disappointed and dissatisfied with Dell’s quick start manuals.They are absolutely awful. They lack clarity and are very frustrating unless you are a computer science major. They should be written for all professions and students. A non-computer science major should try to set up the monitor and then try to use any of USB ports on the monitor for a flash drive. It is hard to believe that a company as large as Dell cannot find individuals who know how to write a manual for a computer monitor. One other point, individuals who have just purchased this monitor and cannot figure out how to set it up, WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE INTERNET FOR ASSISTANCE! SUPER sharp and clear!!

This monitor is GREAT. Super sharp and clear, and very much "plug and play." I love the extra ports it supplies too. I didn't even realize what I'd been settling for until I replaced my old, smaller monitor - this is so bright and clear. I did have to find a new place for my "post it note" cheat notes, as the "frame" is very very thin. Also, the back is slightly curved which made it a little tricky to "attach" my web cam, but it seems to be on there securely. I was also able to put this monitor on my standing desk monitor stand easily. Overall, I love this monitor!

UltraSharp 24 Monitor – U2422H

Love this monitor! The panel delivers gorgeous visuals and is perfect for viewing videos and Zoom calls. The Vesa Mounting bracket capability in the back of the monitor adds to the versatility of the display. With its InfinityEdge it almost floats when wall mounted. The unit has exquisite picture quality and impressive performance. The monitor has excellent color quality and is easily adjusted with a control joystick input method which is far better than the old-style button navigation. It has pretty much all the connectivity options you could want. The build quality is decent for the price of the monitor.
