This product just made its way into our Carle Place store, and I immediately took one out to test it.My first observation was that it was extremely well made, encased in a steel box body with flat end ears, pre-drilled with holes for permanent mounting to flat surfaces. The reach of the sound without losing clarity over distances is incredible, with a large antenna being used that is similar to something you'd see on high-end wireless microphone systems. The clarity is an excellent sound that any professional can rely on. I can't wait to purchase one for my own use.- Trevor at Sam Ash Music Store in Carle Place, New York

I ordered the DN-200BR to use with an older amp/ receiver which did not have Bluetooth. Even though it cost a little more than others I was familiar with Denons products and was confident with the quality. I did have to spend some extra money for a cable that converted from 1/4” jacks to RCA, but that didn’t bother me, since with its set up for input makes it more universal for any use personal or professional. I’m currently using it to stream music via my iPhone. The sound was much clearer and did not clip at higher volumes compared to using a wired connection from the phone to the amp. I was very impressed. The only improvement I could see would be an on/off button. That would be easy enough to do, but at this point it is irrelevant for my use. If used with an a/v it could be switched with the a/v’s switched outlet. If used professionally, it would be unplugged when not in use. For my use, the gain control is turned all the way up. For other uses it would be necessary. Excellent product! I would recommend it for any use.

While the photos show a stub antenna, I was thrilled to receive an antenna pod at the end of a 4' long cord, with a very handy magnetic back. Perfect for the flexibility needed in my application. It works well up to 100 feet away, though effectiveness varies by device. Cell phones have a much longer range than iPad's. I'm not sure why. What I love most, as my application is in a school theater, once I pair with it, nobody else can pair until I un-pair. The connection is quick and reliable and stable. Please note that this is absolutely a line-of-site device. I am very pleased with it. The sound quality is also very good. The difference between good and bad sound files is very evident.

I was happy to find this product as it allowed me to used my touch screen control system to initiate pairing. That part works great. However, I could only go 15-20 feet from the unit without dropouts. At first, I thought that the problem was with the metal structure of our building, but now I'm seeing the other reviews and realizing that it isn't just my situation. I was going to buy another one for a large room, and now realize that i need to find another solution.
Works great. Easy set up. Used it to add streaming capability to a 1970's HIFI Sansui stereo. Just had to get proper cables to connect to Auxiliary input connection on Stereo Receiver. So great to play my mp3's, stream youtube, pandora and other digital media on a great sounding stereo. Not like the junk low quality sound you get from stereos and speakers made today. Denon is a name I trust from my HIFI days.
The unit allows for connecting devices that would otherwise not be practical or even reliable with cords. It's a simple device to set up and use for professional level equipment. It has a higher signal level than home equipment may be able to use and may distort with them. The only issue is the range. Like most bluetooth devices it is limited to very close distances. In this case, around 25 feet in actual use. The antenna has a nice feature with a magnetic base to be able to get it above the crowd for clearer connection. The device works well for portable use, but is best intended for permanent installation.
I've used this unit at work, so when as client required a robust Bluetooth connection, it was the first one I thought of. It was fine for connecting the client's laptop to the audio system for playing tracks for a show until... the cast and crew all had their personal devices in the room at the same time. So many devices searching for Bluetooth connections caused interruptions in the music playback that was the main point of having it. I don't know if it's possible to build in a method of isolating one device over all others, but it would be helpful.
I have a live setup with a Gemini mixer hooked up to a Crown 1000W amp and two live speakers. I got sick and tired of hooking my iPhone up to the mixer with an Apple dongle patched to an 1/8" stereo jack to RCA. After shopping around for a high quality consumer-grade Bluetooth receiver I got fed up with bad reviews and questionable features and quality and decided to search for a more professional option. This Denon is precisely what I needed, and it far exceeded expectations! It is extremely rugged construction, professional setup with balanced outputs AND 1/4" analog if you don't want to splurge on balanced cables. I opted for a 1/4" to RCA patch cable to hook it to one of my mixer channels. I opted for a 1/4" to RCA patch cable to hook it to one of my mixer channels. My iPhone found the Denon quickly and played uninterrupted at perfect audio quality. The box is simple and has everything you need: besides the inputs, it comes with a power cord, a receiver cord (think antenna) and the end is magnetic so you can attach it to anything made out of steel. The box also has gain knobs. My only minor complaint is that the line output is a little on the quiet side. I had to turn the gains all the way up but even then I had to crank the amp and mixer up to get really loud sound out of my music. It was still very loud and is no less loud than any consumer grade Bluetooth receiver. Range was very good and even though I didn't push the limit, I got pretty far away and had perfect uninterrupted sound. Bottom line is this is a great solution to Bluetooth-ing your components.
I ordered one to use phones and other devices on my PA without needing a cable jacked into the device. I found that it works well when you are near it and not the 80 some feet as suggested in the manual. I opened the cover and quickly found out that audio electronics engineers should NEVER attempt to mess with RF engineering. Denon, you really need to step your game up if this is the best you can come up to market with. It is also really interesting to see a device with an antenna an no FCC type compliance anywhere on the device. I would not recommend anyone buy this version of the product, Denon needs to recall this thing and do RF correctly.
Needed the ability to add Bluetooth but could not in anyway justify a new mixer or powered mixer. Looked at this unit for over a year before biting the bullet. I purchased mine from a local guitar shop that had used it a few times for live events they ran.Easy to pair and unpair with my iPhone, noticed zero noise using the unbalanced outputs into an older YorkVille powered mixer (I didn't have any XLR's shorter than 25ft otherwise I would have used the balanced outputs.). Plenty of signal from the DN-200BR with level set to 12:00. I'm sure clipping would have occurred had it been in the 2-2:30 + range.A little disappointed in Bluetooth range which is the number 2 reason I chose this unit. It could have been environmental but even raised I would experience drops ... MoreNeeded the ability to add Bluetooth but could not in anyway justify a new mixer or powered mixer. It could have been environmental but even raised I would experience drops only about 25 away. Just placed the audio source (phone) next to the unit and left it at that.I had expected better range and will try again with more time to setup cleanly.Sound quality is great, distance is adequate even if a little disappointing. Hoping to be able to move around a crowd during an outdoor Halloween event proved to be more than what the receiver could handle. Should not be an issue under a more normal condition.
