In college, around two yeaes ago, this stuff hit the spot. I have fine hair, prone to eczema during drier months, and generally sensitive/dry skin, and it used to provide relief that no other conditioner could. I repurchased not too long ago only to be monumentally disappointed. That cooling feeling I felt before was lacking, and didn't provide the prior relief I was searching for - which is upsetting since my scalp has been especially itchy and dry as of late, much worse than before (there is no dandruff or texture that needs treating, my scalp is clean, my hair itself is just dry thus causing itching). I only am writing this review to question if the formula has changed, I am never truly upset by a failed product, mainly inconvenienced if anything because I will ... I started using this product about 3 months ago and here's my take on derma.Pros- I don't lose as much hair. My hair felt healthier after a couple of uses. The waves in my hair look more define vs frizzy, when using the conditioner. You will feel a cooling sensation on your scalp from the menthol. (I personally enjoy that feeling, others may not.) The longer you leave the product in hair the better the results. It took care of the dandruff.Cons. The bottles are extremely difficult to extract the product. I would recommend dumping the product into a reusable pump bottle. The condition is the hardest to get out. The scent may not be appealing to some.Overall I feel the product is great for getting your scalp balanced. I've tried a few dandruff shampoos such as H&S ... Also you don't want to disturb the natural biomes on your scalp so choosing products with ingredients such as need or tea tree oil is a great way to get the balance back

The menthol was mild, yet soothing.I'm African-American (4a/b mix) and plan to use this twice a week for a couple of weeks, then go back to weekly or as needed. I think I have found a solution for my troubled scalp! Tried several medicated conditioners that did not work and dried my scalp and hair out profusely. this one shows promise. Will add update if neccessary in the future.

It's a shame that apparently nobody at the company tested this conditioner in the shower before deciding to put it in a tall, narrow bottle with a narrow opening. The product is THICK. It's a cream, and should be in a jar. I first discovered problem after washing my hair and couldn't get any product out. The plastic is so hard you can't even squeeze it, and I have pretty strong hands. So I spent approx. 25 minutes this evening trying to transport the cream into a usable tub container. What I had to do was slowly add a little water and try to stir and scoop out small amounts with the handle of an ice tea spoon, which was a lengthy process because the opening kept getting clogged. Ridiculous! See attached photos. The portion I spooned out in second photo is AFTER adding water, so it was actually thicker in the bottle. I used it on my scalp and I think it works well. Therefore giving two stars. However, I won't purchase again due to the issues getting it out of the bottle. It seems like a good conditioner otherwise, but sadly I can't recommend due to the inconvenience factor.
My scalp gets so dry and itchy in the winter and recently its been burning as well. Prior to this line, nothing has relieved it. Ive been using it a little less than a month, and the shampoo, conditioner and the serum have completely changed my whole head of hair. My hair looks incredibly soft and shiny, and no more flakes, itching or burning! Im so happy! Highly recommend!Only downside is the bottle. The plastic is so hard, I have to use two hands to squeeze it to get the product out.
I love the product inside, but the packaging is a nightmare. Unfortunately, I think anyone who has limited dexterity or strength in their hands might really struggle with any shampoo or conditioner by Derma E because the bottles are made of very hard plastic that is difficult to squeeze. It's especially difficult to get out the conditioner because the consistency of the product is quite thick. If you don't mind the packaging or have someone who is willing to transfer it into alternative packaging for you, this conditioner is really nice in my opinion. I have eczema and dry skin, and I was dealing with a constantly itchy scalp that was flaking off onto my shoulders even when I was using other products that were free of SLS. I have eczema and dry skin, and I was dealing with a constantly itchy scalp that was flaking off onto my shoulders even when I was using other products that were free of SLS. It wasn't fungal dandruff, so traditional dandruff products did not help. Since switching to this line a few years ago, the itching and flaking have gone away, and my hair is shiny. The conditioner doesn't do much for frizz, but it is great at detangling. For what it's worth, I have frizzy, wavy/curly hair that is medium thickness and low porosity.Be aware that this product contains menthol and tea tree oil, which I believe some people find irritating. It doesn't seem to bother my scalp, though. I don't like the way the product smells when I'm in the shower because I don't like minty smells, but I never notice the smell once I have rinsed my hair, and my partner says he can't smell it on me. This product does give your scalp a cooling sensation, which I remember really loving when I first started using the products and my scalp was still very itchy. It's not super strong and does not last incredibly long, but it definitely soothes for 5-10 minutes or so. (I let it sit on my scalp for about 5 minutes in the shower, so you may notice it less if you rinse it out more quickly.)
I absolutely love Derma E Scalp Relief Conditioner. I have to be careful what I put on my scalp and this works for me. As a bonus it leaves my hair tanglefree. I do have a BIG PROBLEM with the container it comes in. The plastic is impossibly hard to squeeze unless you are a heavyweight champ. I have to wash my hair in the kitchen sink and remove the cap so I can lean on the bottle with my forearm to get the conditioner out. Please someone fix this problem. If this didn't work SO well on my hair, and I didn't have such a picky scalp, I would choose another product to avoid the hassle.
While the bottle is a harder than usual plastic, I think the issue is that the opening in the bottle cap is too small to accommodate the thick consistency of the conditioner. I turned the bottle upside down until the conditioner was all the way to the cap, unscrewed the cap and was then fairly easily able to squeeze out a usable amount in one try. I see that the opening in the cap is the same size as on the shampoo bottle and as the shampoo is a much thinner liquid it works fine but not for the conditioner. While a pump on the conditioner bottle would be great, perhaps an easier fix is to use a cap with a larger opening.
my son gets horrible patches on his scalp that can get bad enough to crack and bleed. this shampoo and conditioner combo is the only thing that has helped. my only complaint is the packaging. the bottles are really firm and really difficult to squeeze once the bottles aren't mostly full, add wet hands to that combo and it's really freaking frustrating. I am still getting it at it's the only thing that works for him, but am buying bottle to transfer it to. I don't think I should have to do that!
I do rcv 2-3-4 days of relief from using this conditioner. there's no itching Day 1, some itching Days 2,3 tho scratching results in halting the need to scratch. I can be fairly ok Day 4 but will absolutely shampoo and condition that day or evening. This plastic bottle is so rigid, I cannot squeeze it to release any conditioner & this is a problem. As soon as I locate an empty, clean squeezeable plastic bottle, I'll try to relocate the conditioner from the 1st bottle to the 2nd. The conditioner is very thick, which is fine, but adds to the challenge of accessing the product.
