Dermalogica PreCleanse 30 ml

If you have sensitive skin, SPARE YOURSELF, and DO NOT USE! :(I was suggested this by an employee as I was searching for an oil cleanser that was good for oily, sensitive, acne prone skin. I have used Farmacy Green Clean forever and I regret SO MUCH trying this product - I am having the worst face experience of my life (and I’m 31!). *cue all the anxiety and tears*I tried this product twice and it has affected my vision, my face is burning and red, it is PAINFUL and honestly scary! I’ve had to go to the doctor and douse my face in hydrocortisone, plus pretty much not use anything but the most basic skincare. It sucks!I was really hopeful but as soon as I can see clearly again and my face doesn’t burn from leaving my cave, I will be returning. :(

Amazing!

I never leave reviews but I fell in love with it the moment I pumped it into my hands. The smell is to die for. It really feels like you're getting a spa experience with it. I wanted something to remove my tinted sunscreen easily before washing with my regular cleanser and it does a great job. I have to work it a little longer on my waterproof eyeliner but nothing crazy. People who leave bad reviews don't know how to use it correctly. Do not wet your face beforehand. Use it with a dry face and hands and soak in the beautiful spa experience you get from it. My only con is I wish I bought 2 bottles during the sale because I'm probably going to fly through this because I enjoy it so much. I'm also acne prone and it does not bother me.

Doesn't thoroughly remove mascara

Perhaps user error but I cannot get this product to completely remove my mascara. This is true of both my non-waterproof tubing mascara and my regular waterproof mascara. No matter how much product I use, how much I rub on my lashes in both the oil phase and the foaming phase, I'm left with black patches under my eyes. I think the point of using a precleanse is to not have to use makeup remover first so it's a little frustrating. Other than that, I like the product fine. It does feel heavy but rinses off fine after the foaming phase. I don't find the slight scent to be a problem and I'm very scent sensitive. All in all would continue to use if the mascara wasn't an issue.

Has fragrance, but I still love it

I have acne prone skin, with a blackhead problem. I use this Precleanse in the evening, to remove sunscreen and any make up, before my water based cleanser. It feels great sliding it onto my skin and neck, and once rinsed, my face feels clean, without being tight. My only gripe with this product is that it has a LOUD lavendery fragrance, which my dermatologist has warned me against. Due to this, I stopped using it for a while, and started using a fragrance free balm. It did not compare! After a year without, I've come back, the prodigal daughter! This product feels great going on, it leaves your skin feeling clean without feeling tight, and I have noticably less black head gunkIf Dermalogica could make a version of this without the fragrance, that would be wonderful!

I LOVE IT

I had put off oil cleansing for such a long time. Not really sure why. I have issues with sebaceous filaments on my nose and my chin, particularly right under my lower lip. The photos that I share here are after one use, and now I'm hooked on double cleansing! Not only is there a huge difference in the way that my skin looks, but it also feels more smooth and clean. This oil is nice and light, smells wonderful, and left my skin feeling way more soft and hydrated then it typically feels after I use my everyday water cleanser (which is still great!) The pump works great and the bottle is a nice size. I'm not a giant fan of the price, but I can't complain too much based on the results. It's fine, but didn't stand out to me.

This is my first cleansing oil, and while I like this Precleanse, I'm not especially wowed by it, so I will try out a different one when I've finished this bottle. I appreciate the cruelty-free product and recyclable packaging! I can't say that I can comment on whether it "melts away waterproof makeup," because I usually don't wear makeup, and when I do, it's even less likely to be water proof. That being said, it does easily wash away my physical SPF (Vanicream's facial moisturizer with ceramides and SPF). The lather when you go in with water is super mild and barely visible; I wish it was more visible, but I think this is just how cleansing oils are supposed to be. I do feel like it is soothing, nourishing, and moisturizing, and while I don't think it *contributes* to any acne I might get, I also don't think it helps heal or prevent acne. (I mostly get hormonal acne - only sometimes - and it's not too severe when I do get it.) I'm not sure why the Sephora page for this product says it's a good product if you have skin redness as a concern, because it hasn't done anything to improve my redness. Last thing to mention - there are quite a few oils in here that are solely in here as perfuming ingredients, so I do not think this would be good for sensitive skin.TLDR: Does wash away SPF easily and mostly keeps pores clear. Doesn't strip your skin, but doesn't do much for redness. Recyclable packaging; ingredients that may not be safe for sensitive skin.

Just fine; strong scent

Then I added water and continued massaging, finally rinsing it off and following with a gel cleanser. I bought the mini which is a nice tester size, I got a few weeks out of half the bottle before I stopped using it.I thought it was okay. It cleanses well without drying, but I find my gel cleanser works perfectly on its own and this product doesn't add anything to my cleansing step. Not for everyone

I started using this product almost 2 months ago. I LOVED how it removed my makeup and just how my skin felt, but pretty quickly i started noticing bumps all over my chin. Like little white pimples but they were so tiny. I thought that was odd but didnt contribute it to this product. I aboslutely looved how my skin felt, then i noticed breakouts. It was so weird its like i would get a big ball type pimple. My mom even asked me what was going on with my skin as ive never had pimples like this before. I didnt know what causing me to breakout as i hadnt changed anything, in fact i added more skincare products. One day my husband said, what if its the new stuff u got? So i stopped using it for 3 days and immediately the white almost "oil" bumps were gone! I am back to ... MoreI started using this product almost 2 months ago. Semi-Impressed

Nozzle is really hard to push down to get the cleanser out - I've swiveled the nozzle round & round in different spots, but I definitely have to hold the bottle and then press down, then quickly move my hand to catch the cleanser. Not cool. I'm also not a fan of the texture of the cleanser. I don't think I realized it was an "oil" based cleanser (yes, I'm sure it said that on there, but I didn't stop to think about what that meant texture wise). So, I'm not a fan of the oil texture and I feel like I have to squirt 2 or 3 times to get (what I think) is an appropriate amount of cleanser to use - because it feels like I'm not getting anything out of the "oil" based product. It will either sit in my shower now forever or I would over use it just to finish it. I was apprehensive to try an oil cleanser, due to how my skin would react and the mixed reviews on all of the ones available on sephora. This was highly recommended.1. The main oil is non comodegenic (doesnt clog pores)2. Essential oils added in it are all known to benefit skin in soothing, clearing, antibacterial, acne fighting and more.3. I have not broken out from it or experienced irritation4. Removes ALL my makeup including KVD waterproof pomade/eyeliner, waterproof mascara, long wear lipstick and a full face with one pump of product5.
