Actually Resurfacing

I went from the active cleanser to this after running out for a little while and I am getting my skin used to it at this stage. It's DEFINITELY resurfacing. I could actually see dead skin rubbing away after cleansing and drying - and I was using another exfoliator that I thought made my skin feel smooth after but I guess I didnt know what smooth meant yet haha. I've switched to sometimes using it once a day while my skin fully gets used to it but my skin hasnt looked or felt this good in ages. Really active product. I was using the bio-lumin C moisturiser tester at first until it ran out and I am obsessed It's AMAZING. When I can afford it that's the first thing I'll be getting.

First time Dermalogica user

this cleanser was a good purchase, it gently cleans. Doesn't leave your skin feeling stripped of moisture, it is a cream cleanser. Very mild scent. Pump bottle is pleasant to use, however a whole push of the pump is too much. The 150ml has lasted longer than i imagined. My first Dermalogica purchase and i will continue to try other products in this brand

Good, Very Strong

Pros: Creamy, Smells Good, and Exfoliates. Great customer service. Cons: Very Strong, Poor instruction, Still need another facewash I was very excited to treat myself to Dermilogica products. They work so well and I see a difference/improvement in my skin. ! I decided to try out the Age Smart products and I followed the instructions on the box and started using them every day. I didn't know that you aren't supposed to use it so often. I had a sunburn-like redness, itchiness, burning, and flaking for a few days until I reached out to the Dermilogica team and they helped me come up with an alternate routine. Make sure to ease into using these products as your face gets used to it and have a more gentle face wash to use in between using this one.

Instructions are bad

The box says to use daily, the how to use section on here said to use it twice a day and only once if you are getting irritated.Then in the review section dermatological responded to a review saying you're not suppose to use this daily it's too strong .?? So much is information.I used it daily and I'm getting the same reaction as another review “sun burn like reddness”. Never happened to me before with any other product I've used for my face

Lovely exfoliant

Started using this years ago as it was recommended by Lisa Eldridge. I was new to exfoliating at the time and I found this to be non irritating but definitely felt like it was working as the tingling was strong. Now that I am very experienced with AHAs & BHAs I barely feel it at all but still use it as you notice the effects immediately.I would not use this daily but rather as a second cleanse on days you do not want to take the time use a exfoliating mask. I prefer this over exfoliating toners & serums especially when I have flaking skin from Retinoids (Tretinoin). Non irritating

I have redness prone skin I'm in my 40's and my skin is dry. I started using derm about a year ago with super rich moisturizer I love it but it doesn't have lactic acid which exfoliates. I was hesitant to try this cleanser but needed to resurface my skin. No welts or itchy or redness at all my skin did feel tight but after moisturizing it was so soft and dry dead skin cells were removed not all but a difference I could tell. Lactic acid is way more gentle then solitic acid. Iv used this only once a day May try twice but I'm so impressed and my sensitive skin can tolerate it. This doesn't have a heavy sandpaper feel it didn't scratch my skin.

OVERPRICED AND ESSENTIAL OIL LADEN

Skin Resurfacing Cleanser is the chief cleanser in the AGE SMART collection dedicated to ageing skin. Whilst this cleanser is not bad it isn't exactly wonderful either. As usual Dermalogica has thrown in more than a handful of their usual precious essential oils to keep up with their spa wellness beauty therapy image meets cosmeceuticals blah blah blah. Unfortunately this is not the case, this is a rather basic standard water soluble detergent surfactant cleanser formula there are only two or three surfactant (they are indeed gentle surfactants one of them is Sodium Laureth Sulfate) ingredients in this formula, followed by some lactic acid and essential oils (fragrance). The smell while beautiful is definitely overwhelming. The Lactic acid may have a softening effect but don't expect to exfoliate your skin thoroughly. You need a leave on liquid chemical exfoliant for that. It comes in a convenient pump packaged bottle and is frustratingly only available in one size (other than their travel size sample) at 150ml. It is one of their most expensive cleanser next to their new Intensive Moisture Cleanser. I am here to tell you if you use Dermalogica or are considering using their cleansers, stick to Special Cleansing Gel, it is absolutely better value for money. A well intentioned but seriously poorly formulated product that seems to be a love or hate option with customers. Dermalogica strangely advises you to use this morning and night, but to reduce the frequency of use if you find it too strong, drying or potent for your skin. I would not recommend this product, there are better gentle efficacious water soluble cleansers available at your nearest drugstore for a fraction of the price of this cleanser. The texture comes out as a creamy white glob and foams slowly.

Perfect for moisture and supple plump skin not drying and very clean!

I’ve been using this face wash as well as (special cleansing gel) with “daily superfoliant” & “multivitamin thermofoliant” ok so! I use the “spcl cleansing gel” (AM) 1st, then “superfoliant “ while it’s on I shave with it (use a good razor! Gillette fusion or something!) ok then (PM) I use “skin resurfacing cleanser” (after!!” the “multivitamin thermofoliant “ DRY! First! Then wet hands and continue, then add the “skin resurfacing cleanser” (I count to 30s for each of the 3 steps) then rinse and use a micro fiber towel. This product definitely balances my completion and dryness, while giving a polish -ing effect also reduces redness and calms irritation/irritated skin! Great for WINTER! As it’s a wonderful oil based moisture precleanse works great with pad and ionic technology cleansing machine “ there are many on Amazon” and they also are to be used “ionic technology” to apply ALL your products as the ions push in! the products! And pull OUT the dirt whilst closing pores! Etc. I’ve been a cosmetologist/esthetician since 99’ and have used dermalogica for 20+ years! Will enclose photos of regimen’s discussed…. Have a blessed & joy filled day!!! PS during this winter cold I’m using the skin resurfacing cleanser AM too no Spcl cleansing gel. Just me.

Solid Results, Long-term Staple

I started using this years ago after getting a sample after a spa treatment. I have sensitive, dry skin, and never used sunscreen on my face until it was too late, so I have sunspots from cheek bones down to jaw line. Initially I was impressed with how it refined my pores ever so slightly and no dirt residue on my towels after drying my face, which I've had happen with other cleansers. It is thick and I initially used too much but lathers up once blended with water and becomes slightly foamy, which I love. What REALLY got my attention was after a month or so of using, I saw a very noticeable reduction in sunspots. I use a magnified mirror to put on makeup and was literally in shock seeing the change.
