Dermalogica Sound Sleep Cocoon 50 ml

I can't say enough good things about Beauty Affairs. I've been a loyal customer now for about three years and can't fault their delivery - it feels like I get VIP Express Post when I just make a regular order. I (now) do a lot of online shopping across the board (clothes, shoes, beauty, etc.) and Beauty Affairs stand out from every other vendor I have shopped with throughout COVID as fast, reliable, and essentially flawless in their supply chain when even the previously-good-ones have slowly fallen victim throughout 2021 to COVID disruptions and delays. Whatever they're doing, it works! I will only shop elsewhere for beauty, cosmetics, and perfume on the odd occasion they don't stock a brand I want, but apart from that, I say: MECCA, who? Sephora, what? ^.^

But really I wanted to come here and give thanks and my 5 stars to Beauty Affairs! In this current climate (covid) it’s been tough.... I wish Dermalogica made a bigger size of this and I hope in the future they will cause I can’t get enough of this stuff. It is a bit pricey but Dermalogica as a whole is a professional skincare brand, used by skincare professionals, and with that being said you’re getting access to professional skincare in the comfort of your own home. Aside from that I just adore this stuff. It’s the perfect night time moisturizer to soothe and calm the skin and help you wind down after a long day. It does have aromatherapy benefits as well as being extremely hydrating for the skin so it’ll aid in the relaxation you’d feel when using this as a night time moisturizer. Great for any skin really since it’s a gel cream, love this stuff!

Absolutely in love

I truly love this product! It’s light and not greasy and hydrating. My skin feels soft when I wake up. The packaging of this product is perfect. It pumps out exactly the amount you need every time. One bottle for me lasted almost two years which did make me feel better about the price. I bought this for the first time I think sometime in September of 2020 and I just ran out of it now. Once it stoped dispensing the product, I did force it open because I wanted to see if there was any more left I could get to. I was shocked to find that the contraption inside was very thoughtful and well thought out for the consumer to make sure that almost every drop was dispensed and hardly waisted! For the price I paid there was barely any wasted product. I like that it’s easy to travel with since it twists to dispense. The smell is very calming and I find I look forward to putting it on to smell the wonderful aroma before I go to bed. Makes me feel relaxed and less stressed ready for bed. Towards the end I started to even put the product on my hands that’s how much I liked the smell and the moisture effect it gave me. Wish they made a buddy lotion for this. Although, with the price of the face cream not sure if I could afford their body lotion if they would made it. However I do think that not everyone would like the smell but again for me loved it! The price I can also see deterring people from wanting to try it or be purchasing it again . But I will be a repeated customer since not only dose it work for me and me needs, but the product lasted a very long time, and the packaging was so extremely thoughtful that I don’t feel as if I’m wasting money when I do repurchase it. It truly does what it says, your skin the next day is so soft, supple and glowing! A small amount of this product goes a long way.

Like the texture but not the essential oils

I go up and down with Dermalogica - some products I absolutely love (especially their cleansers) and some I just don't understand. This for me falls into the latter category. I love the texture - really like a gel texture as it doesn't feel too heavy or too much for my skin but I really don't want to put essential oils onto my face. They have a tendency to make it break out and leave it somewhat irritated which seems the opposite of what this is meant to do. It's nice on my neck (which seems immune to breaking out) and I really like to put it on my elbows and shoulders. The smell is really nice but not for the face in my case.

Love this stuff!

Anyone with sensitive skin who hasn't tried Dermalogica Calming line needs to give it a shot. I'm borderline rosacea and bought the trial kit, loved everything about it! I wanted a gentle night moisturizer and picked up the Cocoon, I've been using it now for possibly two years. I also use this as my daily face moisturizer, I love how it just melts into your skin. This company has evened my skin tone so well, I don't wear foundation anymore! It's fragrance just reminds me how natural and gentle these products are. I highly recommend any Dermalogica product, to me... it's worth every penny!

Packaging is a Rip-off

I do like this product but not the packaging. It stopped dispensing and I finally realized that if I twist the container apart and cut the inner plastic bladder open there is a lot left that can be used after the dispenser stops working. Some people think that none of these products justify these prices but it is an additional insult to package them in such a wasteful manner. The hard plastic, twist and push dispenser is unnecessary. There's no blending or any reason this can't be in a regular tube. Fooling people into thinking it's empty when there's a month's worth left is what gives marketing a bad name. Shame on you, Dermalogica, and shame on Ulta for not insisting that products you sell not be wasteful in packaging or quantity.

Smells great, works great

I bought this product to help my skin during a dry winter. I live in Southern California so it's not extreme weather, but my skin felt helplessly dry. The first thing I noticed about this is the packaging-it's amazing! I really love the design. The second thing I noticed is the scent of the moisturizer. It smells just like lavender and when it goes on the skin you can smell it for a couple minutes before it dissipates, which is so soothing but doesn't become distracting or too much. I found this to be lightweight and non greasy but also sufficiently hydrating for my skin to feel comfortable the next morning. My skin also has a glow it didn't have before and this is the only thing I changed about my routine so I am pleased! Want to love it, definitely could without the fragrance

Fair warning this review is probably obnoxious and is less about the product and more about the smell. I have reactions to unexpected ingredients, including some that are supposed to help soothe sensitive skin. Given that lavender can be a skin irritant I'm surprised it is included in this product. Based on the reviews here, this is an unpopular opinion, but I don't want lavender in my skincare and wish that it either wasn't in this product or that there was a fragrance free option. The mention of it in this product made me remove it from my shopping cart - I did end up trying it via free sample and really liked it - and didn't have a reaction at all. That said - the smell is offputting and I'm just not sure if I will be able to get over it and pull the trigger.

Wanted to love it

I've used in the past and I remember why I stopped. I have moderately dry skin all year and I tend to breakout with alot of products. I do have some hornal acne changes once a month (very minimal) my face is usually blemish free. I read alot of other reviews about the silicone and was worried it may have that "clogging" effect on me and it did. I used 3 nights in a row with a breakout after night one. I have not used it for 2 nights not and face cleared up. The scent is lovely. The texture is like nothing I've used being. Looks like very thick gel but once rubbed onto face it just disappears without leaving much of anything left on the skin. May seem a bit tacky but no more then a thicker moisturizer. Hope this helps!
