The Futura 26 from Deuter is a backpack with everything on it. With a well-ventilated Aircomfort carrying system you have optimal wearing comfort and support in your back while walking. The special aspect of this carrier system is the ventilating capacity. There is space between the back and the backpack so that continuous air circulation keeps your back a lot drier and can ventilate well. The Futura has a large main compartment that can be divided into two smaller compartments. Both compartments are easily accessible with a zip. The main compartment has a stretch pocket to place an optional hydration system. This way you can continue to drink while exercising without having to take off the backpack. This is the second Deuter backpack I have owned. The best feature is the aircomforter back which allows the air to circulate and keeps the pack off your back. They have made a couple of improvements since I bought the original more than 20 years ago.

This model with the front panel opening is of a far better quality and more practical than the newer model that has replaced it. I have both and I & a lot of others feel that Deuter has gone backwards.

This is a well made, durable day pack - bought it as a gift and have a very happy camper - great frame and all the accessories he wanted. Great advice and service from Sail, too.
Great size and design for day walks
Bought this to replace a small camelback pack. The extra space and wide hipbelt are just what the doctor ordered. The zippered opening allows you to access items in the bottom of the pack.Very satisfied!
I grabbed this for the summer months and Iām happy I did. I really like the Deuter trampoline air flow system and this pack is nearly perfect for day/overnight hikes. See attached video for a full video.
I haven't tested it yet. It's differently shaped for its size, so it can be one of the best daypack for hiking or a big mistake.- pros- sophisticated, and tall and narrow for its size- mine is in black with red zippers & zipper pulls, very sleek- Aircomfort Back is a big plus for hiking in hot weather- well built with good material and craftsmanship (YKK zippers and buckles are all around)- cons- 2-day shipping became an almost 10-day shipping and it was shipped by ground instead of by air as advertised when ordering- maybe too small even for day hiking (especially because of the main compartment's shape: side height is short for containing bulky items)
Nice mid sized daypack, but it is a little heavy.Classic "german" backpack, function and durability over style and gramweenie friendliness.
Excellent back pack, really comfortable, love the way you can get to your gear at the bottom with front to the bag been able to open.
