This is my 4th Deuter pack. The quality and thoughtfulness have made me a fan for life. This pack is exactly what I was looking for to carry a bit more gear on longer day hikes — specifically for a trip to Norway but anytime it’s needed.It’s comfortable, lightweight and technically advanced. I really appreciate the various storage areas for easy access without opening the main storage area, including to little zippered pockets on the belt. Nice touch.I fully expect this pack to last for years like my other Deuters have.

I love this backpack! It's super comfortable and keeps the back of my shirt cool on hard hikes. I use it for day hikes and I've also carried 3 days of gear on backpack trips too. It has a zippered compartment for the rain cover, and lots of separate compartments to keep things organized, including a hydration sleeve. Most importantly, it allows me to carry 25 pounds easily without excess strain on my shoulders.

Pack is super nice. I am 6’4” 225lb. I should have got an extended size. It will be fine, but the hip belt pockets are too far back for me to access them easily and the fit on my back is higher than i expected. Next one will be for a taller person.

I bought this bag about a year ago, used it and abused it until I upgraded to a smaller pack last month. It is very breathable and comfortable to wear, the padded hip fins made for a comfortable displacement of weight. The hydration system compatibility was nice but I found I rarely used it because I carried Nalgene bottles instead. the added rain cover is very good quality like I would expect from Deuter. However never had to use it though seeing as the bag itself was very water resistant. The separate access from the bottom was very useful for storing sleep gear, a tent, or wet items. There are two outer pockets which are good for first-aid supplies and trail food. As well, the two top compartments were good for general tools like my head lamp, compass and fire ... The Deuter Futura 32 is one of the best all season hiking mid sized ruck sacks you can buy. It can sinch down flat with a light load but is always capable of stowing any equipment you can think of on a days hike. Bullet proof construct and a revolutionary ventilation system for the ridged back the Futura 32 is one of the most comfortable and lightweight packs you can carry. It also does a great job of keeping the weight high on the back with a vertical and slender shape for maximum movement range. Add to all this the built in waterproof cover and additional hydration system and it will be hard to find a better rucksack especially for the money.
I was looking for a multi-day pack that wasn't huge. In the past I owned two larger Deuter packs, so when I saw this one on MountainSteals.com at a great price, I had to buy it. The pack is awesome! There are plenty of pockets and adjustments. I loaded it with most of my gear for an upcoming three day trip and it had plenty of room, it fit nicely, and it's very comfortable. I'm looking forward to carrying it in a few weeks.
I have had multiple Deuter packs over the years, and I have even had a similar previous version of this pack. I like the pack. The only problem is that the very top of the pack, that is the entry way to the main pack, is already falling apart. One of the seams to the pocket has come apart for about 5 inches, making it possible for the contents of the pocket to fall out. I don't have the original packaging, so I am figuring out how to return/exchange it. I guess I will find out if MooseJaw reads these reviews.
Superb sac for day walks with winter kit, roomy enough for that extra food, Thermos, down jacket etc and importantly has carrying loops for two poles and an ice axe. Delighted with it, and the striking red colour is a bonus. Drawbacks? The fabric is quite hard and stiff at freezing temperatures (perhaps will soften a bit with use) and it seems a penny-pinching economy to have only a single hip-belt pocket, on the right side, so hard to reach if one is right-handed. Bref, j'en suis ravi.
I purchased this pack to downsize from an older, heavier and larger one. Really want to lighten up the carry without sacrificing durability and comfort. The Deuter is exactly the size I wanted and very well made. It’s crafted solidly and the features demonstrate that a lot of thought was put into the design. However, I sadly had to return the pack because although I am average height, I am long from the waist up, and the pack did not fit. I instead ordered the EL version which fit me very well.
I bought this to replace an older version from many years ago. Definitely a modernized improvement of the previous model. More little features throughout and lighter weight, sleeker bag.
