I've hiked Kauai's Kalalau trail and managed a solid overnight no problem (I'm a lite hiker) I also use it as a carry on for. The CV is a great bag, though I do prefer the option from Deuter that includes pockets on the straps that really add to the comfort of the fit. Feels like a hug from a small mystical creature that carries your belongings. In my 7 years on the Deuter team, this is the best fit I think I've had in a long time.

This lightweight but sturdy bag is perfect not only for hiking but for all your outdoor activity storage needs. I take it with me to the park with children to help store snacks, water, accessories, first aid etc. Perfect for long hikes through trails or mountains. The built in straps by the handle help you control how snug/tight you want it to be to the back of your shoulder blade, when loosened the back pad is made of extremely breathable material that keeps you cool. The shoulder straps have built in sleeve, zipper compartment, and eyeglass holder. The bag also had hip fins that can be adjusted and buckled to keep the bag in place with minimal movement as your body is moving. This was my first experience with Deuter and am impressed! The 25-liter daypack is perfect for longer day treks as well as hiking with our family of 3. There's plenty of storage including the large main compartment, hydration compartment which can also be used for additional storage, large front pouch, 2 large water bottle pockets (can hold my 32oz wide mouth), zippered belt pouch, 2 strap pockets (1 zippered), a zippered top pouch plus tons of gear loops. The Speed Lite 25 is a great bag for day hiking or for a 1-night overnight adventure. It is durable but at the same time is lightweight and provides comfortable padding. It has a thoughtful design to store gear. We love that there are several pockets on the shoulder straps and hip belt to store phone or snacks at the ready. Also there are stretchable but secure spots on the side of the pack perfect for water bottles.
I like this bag. I have the smaller speed lite and I wanted the 25 L for the longer day hikes or when I’m with family and need a little more room. I like side compression straps which this has. I’ve used the trekking poles holder and it wasn’t great. They sort of flop around and flair out a little bit to much. I looped a 24 inch strap towards the middle/top of poles so they would hang vertical and not flare out and that worked well. I prefer large bottles of water and the side pockets are perfect for that. Hip belt is comfortable. Hip pocket is pretty small but I’m sure I’ll figure out something to put in there. It does have a sort of flexible wire frame running around it. Bag is super light for its size. I’ve used it several times and would buy it again.
I bought this primarily for hiking, but thought it might be nice for biking, and was considering using it for fastpacking. After trying it out for hiking and biking I think the straps are overkill off the bike and I dont want to try it fastpacking. It's just a bit much, theres a lot of material involved, they it doents fit as snugly as a proper running vest, and it doesnt have a spot to hold water bladders in front so all the weight is on your back. That being said it's a good hiking bag but but the side pockets go up too high so its hard to take out a water bottle while wearing the bag. Onto why I really likr this bag; it's s phenomenal for biking. If you want a bag for biking that doubles as a decent hiking bag I would highly recommend this one. If you are the water bladder type this bag would probably be perfect for hiking as well. I personally am not. I think they're hard to clean and I think keeping your water off your body heats it up less but to each their own.
I bought this because I got a dog. Dog and I love to hike but my little Osprey pack was too small to hold my food and water and hers, plus extra gear and layers. So I upgraded to this 25L pack. Perfect! Also, I loved that it has a wide waste belt for comfort when hauling heavier stuff. Dueter is a great brand and I also have their larger 65+10 long haul pack. For my body, both are a great fit. Highly recommend this. Backcountry is great as always too.
We got this backpack for our daughter in law because they love to hike and go on trails. It is ultra-light so you can preserve energy. It has multiple compartments; you can store your cell phone and GPS device. It has quick access to your energy bars; you can store your sunglasses easily available. You can store your safety helmet on the attachment that loops on the back. This is a great product. I highly recommend it.

I've probably had at least 3 or 4 and still use the 20 liter around town, although it's a bit tough getting things in after a trip to the grocery and doesn't have a serious waist belt like the 25.This pack was purchased for travel mostly since I normally check a full-size Deuter and take a day-pack to use en route, or tramping about in a city.
