Not sure what's going on with these, but I bought one at Lowe's and two through Amazon. Every one of them runs for about 2 seconds and then stops running. Using fully charged batteries that work fine in my dewalt drills and bigger blower. I find it really odd that all 3 do the same thing. All of my dewalt tools work great so very surprised with these not working.

I bought this till new and worked great for about a year with light use with the exception of the blower motor trying to suck up my pants. The side air inlet should have been better engineered. My biggest complaint now is the product doesn't last. I squeez the trigger and it powers up but immediately loses power. At this point it is a paperweight. I do not recommend this item

I needed another Dewalt 5amp battery to use with my Dewalt chainsaw, circular saw, and pole saw. There was an offer to get a free battery with purchase of this shop blower for not much more money than the cost of a new battery so I bought it.As the specs indicate, this is a small shop blower not a leaf blower. Fine for blowing sawdust from around the workbench and cleaning around the shop without causing a dust storm but don't expect it to do more. It pushes out air at a high speed but not high volume so it struggles moving bigger items. For me I would rather suck smaller stuff up with the shop-vac than blow it around. I have been very pleased with the decision. If you decide a leaf blower is more for you, keep in mind most electric (corded) blowers are significantly more powerful and less than half the money of a cordless. This shop blower was around 100 cfms, Dewalt Cordless around 475 CFM and my old beater corded leaf blower is 7.5 amps and definitely best for bigger jobs. I leave the electric at my house for my own drive and yard. Then I leave the Dewalt Cordless on my work truck for small jobs and quick customer clean-ups.

This is my second Job Site DeWalt blower. The first one had an issue with the trigger. The blower would start, then immediately stop. I bought the extended warranty from Lowes so basically they swapped out the old one for this new one. I like that it’s compact. I drive a truck and haul bulk cement in a pneumatic trailer from the cement mines to redo-mix concrete plants. There’s usually powder residue left around the dome lid of the trailer. I use my blower to blow off the excess cement from the top of the trailer. I also park my truck in an aggregate mine so my car is usually covered in dirt at the end of my shift. I give my car a quick blow off with this little blower and I’m ready to roll! This blower is prefect for what I need it for. Anyone thats saying anything negative is ignorant. This is NOT sold as a leaf blower, therefore of course its not going to blow giant balls of wet and fresh cut grass and wet leaves and such. Although in use it for just that but I dont cut 12grass, I do the job when its shorter as is and then after an hour or two of sunshine, the grass will easily be blown where its wanted to go. Blow off workbenches of dust, sawdust, metal shavings or anything else you wish. Its a GREAT little blower And Ill be buying the bigger LEAF blower for just that purpose because of this quality, the bigger one must be even better!
I just purchased my 2nd of these blowers today. Well, the 1st one lasted from March until July. The trigger seemed to stop working. I would get 2-5 seconds of full speed then it would gradually die down to a complete stop. So I switched 3 different fully charged batteries (6amp, 5amp & 2amp). They all did the exact same thing. Fortunately, Home Depot has a 180 day return policy. They refunded me and I purchased this tool again. I had called DeWalt and they said it would take 3-5 weeks to get it back, $65 repair if it's not considered a warranty repair & the $65 was the minimum. Too much down time without a tool I need for business and too many "ifs" getting it fixed.I really like this blower. It's small with good power. Main usage is for vehicle detailing to blow excess water out of crevices like mirrors and trim. Occasionally use it to clear light debris before detailing a vehicle. It was really good at removing cicadas LOL.I sure hope this 2nd one lasts. This is too expensive for such a short life span. We'll see soon enough.
I bought this compact blower for three reasons: its small and cordless, its only moderately powerful and I already have 20v batteries (purchased with my DeWalt drill). Heres my assessment based on those criteria: This blower could not be more convenient to use. It sits on a small shelf near the garage door and can be put to use immediately (since I keep the battery charged). As for power, I was looking for a blower that would move the sprinkling of leaves I get all summer in my heavily wooded yard without blowing away the mulch Ive put down where grass wouldnt grow. I had no delusions that this blower would be an all-purpose blower. I have a Stihl gas-powered backpack model with an airflow of 756CFM (compared to the 100CFM of this blower) for moving the leaf ... MoreI bought this compact blower for three reasons: its small and cordless, its only moderately powerful and I already have 20v batteries (purchased with my DeWalt drill). As for power, I was looking for a blower that would move the sprinkling of leaves I get all summer in my heavily wooded yard without blowing away the mulch Ive put down where grass wouldnt grow. I had no delusions that this blower would be an all-purpose blower. I have a Stihl gas-powered backpack model with an airflow of 756CFM (compared to the 100CFM of this blower) for moving the leaf onslaught of fall and winter. For this time of year, the DeWalt compact well serves my needs (e.g., keeping the dark brown mulch looking tidy and blowing off the deck, driveway and garage floor.) Clearly, Ive described a product worthy of five stars thus far, so why only a three-star rating? Alas, I was quite naive to think the 20v batteries that work great with my drill would work well with this blower. On first use, I exhausted both of my 1.5Ah batteries in about 11 minutes. Given that this compact blower doesnt have major blowing power and, thus, takes longer to complete a job, that is woefully not long enough. I decided not to return it and to purchase more powerful batteries (two 5Ah) with charger because I could benefit from a longer charge for my DeWalt hedge clipper. Im pleased with the results (I get 20-23 minutes per battery, depending on the speed selected), but given the expenditures for the blower, the 5Ah batteries & charger, it is not cost effective. Starting over, I would look at other brands for a small blower, despite my belief in the integrity of DeWalt tools. Overall, Id recommend this compact blower only if you already have more potent DeWalt 20v batteries (4Ah or above) in your arsenal or if you have a very limited time use in mind. If you do need more time and have to buy batteries, keep in mind that the associated starter kit seems to offer 3Ah batteries that will still only provide 20-23 minutes total time for two batteries, which is why I spent a little more for the 5Ah and got double that time.
Was hoping to get away from a corded blower and thought this would be the best option. But this one has some problems. It does run the battery down rapidly. Also, the air intake is right by my pant leg so if it comes close it’ll suck into the material and bog down the blower. I was wearing shorts and had this problem, also I’m right handed, a southpaw might not have this issue. I’ll be returning this model and trying another blower. I will say it is lightweight but other than that I feel it is poorly designed.
I originally purchased this unit just for cleaning my truck, when you enjoy an outdoor lifestyle its common to have to clean dirt dust and mud out of your truck. There’s all kind of areas that are hard to get dust out of, so an electric leaf blower is great to be able to clean dust out in a hurry. On my jeep ill blow down the dashboard and all areas where dust collects in order to clean it quickly. For this use the small size with the remarkable amounts of power is great. After having it around I started to use it for cleaning out the garage and the walkways around the house. I have a gas backpack blower but just to be able to use it quickly without starting a gas-powered piece of equipment is so much easier. Run time is great and I haven’t had a job I couldn’t ... MoreI originally purchased this unit just for cleaning my truck, when you enjoy an outdoor lifestyle its common to have to clean dirt dust and mud out of your truck. Run time is great and I haven’t had a job I couldn’t finish on a charge. The fill adapters that are included are a game changer for being on the water. This is the quickest way I’ve found to be able to fill rafts and air mattresses. I didn’t even think of this use when I purchased it but I would buy it again even if that was the only thing I used it for.The only complaint I have is I am right-handed so holding this unit off to the right side when using it as a leaf blower, Its common that the air intake will contact my pants and stop blowing. It’s easy to get used to but I feel in this configuration its more aimed for left-handed people.
The issues I have encountered are with battery comparability. I have one 5ah and two 2ah batteries. With one 2ah and my 5ah battery the blower will start up for a second then turn off. With the other 2ah battery it will ruin until the battery is totally discharged. The two 2ah batteries are probably 4 yrs old the 5ah battery is a little over one year old. The batteries will all run my other tools for hours but not this blower. My 5ah battery runs my tools most of the day but will only power this blower for one second. The older 2ah battery that works will run the blower for about 1/2 hour. The blower it's very very powerful for its size, I was totally surprised with its power. I was going to return the blower, but after I got it to run with one of my batteries and saw its ability I decided to keep it and purchase a new Flex battery to power it. I feel they need to upgrade the electronics so it will not be so sensitive to the battery voltage or balance or whatever the issue is, but I do know this issue could be corrected with the proper circuitry, then this blower would be a solid 5 stars. For reason of the battery issue I would never recommend this blower to any of my friends. This is the first time I have been disappointed with my purchase of a Dewalt tool.
