This is another great tool from Dewalt. Power is amazing, runtime is good, and line of sight is excellent. I also love the positive stops on the bevel adjustments which make it very easy to change what degree you are cutting at. This saw is heavy but is so well balanced you don't really notice the weight. Build quality is also very good with a lot of solid metal parts on the saw. The only thing I see that could be improved are the markings on the shoe, bevel and depth adjustment. While they are spot on as far as accuracy, the numbers are the same color as the shoe metal and might be hard for some people to see. If Dewalt could make a sharper contrast between the metal shoe and markings this would make it much easier to read quickly. I think this cuts as well as my old 110v Milwaukee corded. Amazing amount of life in a battery (I only have the 2/6ah batteries that ship with the kit.Really should do about anything you'd do with a corded for general carpentry use. 1st battery will be recharged before you use up the 2nd. For contractor perhaps get bare saw and buy 9ah batteries.Flexvolt beats the pants of the Milwaukee stuff. AND mostly made in the USA (vs chicomland). BIG THUMBS UP FOR THAT.

I was skeptical when they said it was as good as corded. After using it all I can say is WOW! This saw doesn't bog down near as bad as my 15amp Porter Cable builders saw. Not quite as powerful as a wormdrive but it does very good. The battery life isn't bad either. I do have two complaints. The rear pivot point for the depth adjustment is very loose and wobbles even when tightened. Also the base plate is thin and can easily side under a cutting guide if on a bowed board. All in all this is an awesome saw and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for good cordless performance on the job site.

No issues with the saw functionality. Does everything you would expect it to do and more. Now, the manual has instructions for putting on a dust port, but I can't seem to find a dust port for it anywhere online. So is there a dust port fitting the saw that can bu purchased somewhere or is the manual trolling me with a hypothetical dust port that doesn't exist?
I own this saw, but due to being a lefty, I dont like the blade on the right side. I do still use this saw, but only when I need a more powerful saw on LVL, hardwood etc. I initially bought it due to the 60v platform, and other than my personal preferences do actually like the power it has. I think I'll be trying out the 577 though.
Mostly a vary good saw with one major design flaw. Power is good, battery life is good, over all quality good with the exception of the spindle bearing. The spindle bearing is made of some sort of plastic and when it heats up with long rapping it melts slightly resulting in the alignment between the blade and the table being off about 1/8" it's enough that I can't run the table along a straight edge with out it wandering off line.
Ive been using circular saws for 38 years now . Im very picky how I like my saw to preform. I like it to run smooth in my hand not a bunch of vibration . I like my saw to turn on a bevel without having to do a lot of knob turning. And most if all have a strong motor to ease thru a cut Without bogging and leave a nice clean cut. This 60v Dewalt is sweet!! No cord to trip on, very powerful and is extremely smooth running saw. Makes nice clean cuts. I bought 2 ! I love it. The batteries are expensive. You need atlest 2 - 9.6 amp. Batteries and a rapid charger. Saw preforms like a corded saw. It all i use now. And i use it every day all day.
I wanted the faux-siderwinder, but they had no "kits" with decent batteries included, and I can always borrow my father in-law's milwaukee. It is a very nice saw, but, within a few months, it was apparent that DeWalt doesn't really care for this saw but rather the new "Flex Volt Advantage!"I know the specs, and this saw is "slightly" more powerful than the FlexVolt Advantage, but I have so many 20v batteries this wouldn't have been an option. I don't need 200 more RPMs, or whatever.I wish I would have gotten the faux-worm-drive one if they made this tool, more or less, obsolete, but more flexible with the thousands of dollars of the 20v ecosystem I have spent.
BEWARE IF YOU GET YOUR HANDS ON THIS! This circular saw is an absolute animal when it comes to carpentry! This beats any tool brand on the market! If you are thinking about getting one, GO GET IT! This is an absolute devil when it comes to any job! Metal, You got it! Wood, NO PROBLEM! Fine, smooth, and easy cutting, HECK YEAH! I use this everywhere I go! It is worth every Penny! Go for it! You will not regret it! The battery life is absolutely stunning! Mine came with a 9AH battery FlexVolt. I am a framer and it lasts half a day! (6 hours) on just one battery! THAT IS INSANELY AWESOME! THANK YOU DEWALT!
Great dust removal and amazing power. Can not stall it on a full send cut through heavy timbers. Push as hard as you want, the saw will not bog down or stall. Guard action is very smooth and line of sight is top notch! Had everybody on site give it a try. Guys very loyal to other bands were stoked on the performance. Now to wait for those large powerstack batteries to start coming out :)
