Thinking abouting saving a few bucks. Cosidering buying some look a like cheap knock-offs. If they are all you can afford or all you Want to spend. By all means, go for it. These Authentic batteries will not disappoint or let youi down when you need them. They are sometimes a bit pricey but they will NOT let you down. So, YES THEY ARE WORTH Every penny!

One battery pack worked the first time and the other worked a few times. Now, I fully charge them with my Dewalt charger and they only last 1-3 seconds. If I fully charge them again, I MAY get another 1-3 seconds. I unfortunately waited to try them out so I was outside of the return window and my return request was declined. These are heading the recycle center and I'm writing this purchase off as a complete loss. I know Dewalt is expensive but do yourself a favor and learn from my lesson. These cost more than Dewalt because you'll lose your investment on these and then wind up buying the real deal anyway.

The Dewalt Lithium-Ion Batteries are the best that I have ever used. I chose this 5Ah Lithium-Ion battery for big projects. I can use any tool powered by it all day, on any job and it doesn't let me down. Dewalt provides the batteries for big jobs and for smaller jobs. If you are working on a smaller job, choose smaller batteries because they are somewhat lighter. If you are working on a larger project, this is the battery for you! It won't let you down in the middle of your project! The absolute best batteries and they are priced very affordably!

I have been on the DeWalt Platform for many years, DeWalt has served me well in many of their products, But for me, I think DeWalt is messing up in marketing in my point of view. I have used their 18 Volt line-up going on 15 + Years. You didn't have X - Amp-Hr Batteries, you had 18 volt and 12 volt. Now Givin they were a little heavy, There were and still are rock-solid unit's. I don't know if DeWalt is trying to keep up with other competitors with the number of this and that's of almost the same product or products. I was thought from a young age if it wasn't broke don't fix it. I look at it this way. Build the Best product's in one line and not have so many different lines of the same product. Keep the 20 Volt XR and make the 12 volt an XR Line, and that's that. I ... Keep the 20 Volt XR and make the 12 volt an XR Line, and that's that. I do Like the Li-ion Batteries because of their lightness in weight & ampacity. Though come on DeWalt can you please make every kit you have on the market contain 2 Batteries as you did with your 18/12 volt line some years ago. and still, keep the prices about the same for the products.
Dewalt makes makes several different types of batteries at different voltages. Make sure you get one that is compatible with your tool. I had to buy and adapter for my old Dewalt circular saw to use this battery. Adapter was about $25 bucks. This battery is a nice upgrade from the smaller amp batteries.Dewalt also makes a 6 amp 20V/60v FlexVolt battery that is 'flexible' because it will step down to work with 20V tools or run a 60V. Apparently this gives about 20% more run time. I don't own one... yet. Downside to me is that they weigh more and for the type of maintenance I do, I would rather have less weight and bulk for small jobs. However, I have thought about the 20V 60V Flex for my energy thirsty tools such as my leaf blower, chainsaw, and pole saw for when I ... However, I have thought about the 20V 60V Flex for my energy thirsty tools such as my leaf blower, chainsaw, and pole saw for when I have larger jobs.(BTW make sure you don't have a Dewalt 7.5amp 40V specific tool. $40V stuff only works within the 40V system of tools)Prices on all these batteries vary widely by store, promo's, combo offers etc. I wanted an extra battery for all my Dewalt tools so I bought during a special. Some specials are so good that it might not cost much more to simply buy a Dewalt tool that comes with this battery and a charger. I found a Dewalt leaf blower on sale with a battery and bought. Once you have a couple batteries then you can save money buying 'bare' (no battery included) tools.
Technically not a 5 star as there was a problem with one of two 5 Ah batteries bought as a combo. One of the batteries worked fine on most tools but had a problem with the electric pruning shears I bought. The reason I give a 5 is because Home Depot and Dewalt did such a good job of promptly and without hassle getting a replacement battery. It is such a pleasure to have a company stand behind their product without a hassle.
I got these since I saw a video review that the 5ah were the best value for the money compared to the one below and above. I haven't used them enough yet to give a better assessment with personal experience. I do have one battery in a DeWalt pressure washer I got and so far I had used the 4ah batteries with it that I had for a drill / driver set, I got these in hopes they would have more power lasting for longer as well. I'll have to test them in the same way to see if the power washer works longer drawing water from a bucket.
I am unbelievably disappointed in both the Dewalt Reciprocating Saw and these batteries. I have previously used this combo (cutting up branches for my fire-pit) and had no real issues. However, I had a larger project to do and they turned out to be the most despicable and worthless products on the market. The saw violently shakes and the batteries last ten minutes MAXIMUM. These tools were an enormous waste of money and I don't think I'll purchase Dewalt again. I have found better tools for free at my dump.
So I bought the big DCF899B impact wrench and this DBC205 battery. The new battery's fuel gauge shows 1 light of charge out of the package. I put it on the DCB112 charger and it flashed dual red lights twice, then added the orange third light for a second then went to solid dual reds signifying a full charge. I also put it on a DBC107 charger with similar results. This is disappointing. I'm wondering if I should return this wrench and battery before adding more yellow tools to my collection. Two of my buddies switched over to the red brand of tools. If a battery doesn't charge right out of the box, how can I give it get any stars for anything? I have a couple of brake jobs planned for this weekend. Guess I'll just be busting my knuckles one more time. Happy to ... MoreSo I bought the big DCF899B impact wrench and this DBC205 battery. I didn't want to switch to red, but the reviews on this product are terrible and this is so frustrating! Hope to get some kind of response.
The batteries are NOT Dewalt batteries, which is what I thought I was buying. They are a cheap knock off battery. Before you buy any replacement batteries for cordless tool, be sure to watch the you tube videos comparing the Dewalt batteries and the one you are thinking of buying. There is a big difference in the OEM and the generic batteries. Spend enough to get real OEM batteries and you will be much happier.
