DeWalt Xtreme 12V MAX* Cordless Drill, 3/8-Inch, Tool Only (DCD701B)

This is the drill I will always use, it has always been good to me, lasts a long time and is super compact compared to other drills. This will do 90% of the jobs I work on. The only issue I have found is the chuck coming loose sometimes, but that's rare and is a quick fix.

Quality, NEW, tool and exactly what I expected based on the description. It is so much smaller than my 20volt DeWalt but still has great power. Brushless is the way to go! The perfect addition to my electrical tool box.

Can't beat Dewalt drills

I use this 12volt drill at work, its so much lighter than the 20volt drill. My hands hurt from arthritis really bad, so this 12v is so much easier to handle. Plus gets into tight spots easier.

Dewalt 12volt cordless drill

I like the 12 volt drill for smaller jobs that dont require a lot of power. I also have the Dewalt 20volt drill, but it has a lot more torque that can sometimes be a problem for smaller jobs. Also, the 20volt drill chuck sometimes becomes loose causing the drill bit to fall out. The 12volt doesnt have that issue.

I like the working with the drill. Not a hammer drill - It is however BRUSHLESS. Pretty jaunty for 12 volts. I got the batteries from china off brand. the batteries and not OEM anymores

Know What It Is and What It Isn't

I bought this tool because I needed a compact and lightweight drill for smaller types of applications... and also knowing that it would often be used in spots where space limitations makes the use of a full size drill a bit awkward. I did not buy this tool, expecting to use it as I would a heavy duty tool. That is not its purpose. (If heavy duty is what you're wanting, there are other choices which would be better suited to your needs.) On the other hand, if you find yourself needing to drill a few holes in wood to hang a few sets of window blinds, remove the back of a washer or dryer, work in a tight spot in a crawl space underneath your house, or up in your attic, then this drill should do the job for you. Use it for mostly lighter duty applications, or even short duration heavier applications, if, for example, you're not needing to drill several dozen big holes in very hard wood, and I think you'll find it to be a very useful addition to your power tools.

This is a great light and compact drill for a DIYer like me. Has been so convenient for me and my needs. If your already on a Dewalt 12v platform like me, this will fit in perfectly. Highly recommend

Save weightlifting for the gym

The DeWalt DCD701 is my go-to impact driver since purchasing it two years ago at Lowe's. With a 2Ah battery it's light and has plenty of power for the typically small jobs. With the 5Ah battery it weight a bit more but lasts longer and seems to have a bit more power, plenty for driving long deck screws or even lag bolts.

Very nice

Cute drill. It won't replace an impact or hammer drill by any means, but it is perfect for my use! Kept in a daily carry tool bag for light-duty work - although it does have a powerful motor, the battery would run down very quickly if used for heavy-duty work.

Purchased to add to my tools, I have drills from the 18volt, 20volt groups use them all the time. This 12volt has a place in my "kit". Being slightly smaller, lighter it still gets the job done while " being the correct tool" for the job. I've used it to drill mounting holes in my project vehicle & drill holes in plastic pieces for mounting. Doest lack for power at the same time being more comfortable to use in certain circumstances. ( like drilling holes for picture/shelffans, etc) will the bigger drills work , of course ( have used them for years). This just makes it easier on my. Very happy with my purchase.
