I bought a this only to use when I switch to my winter tires in fall and again in spring. I know some people have said this doesn’t work for luv nuts. I tried on both my SUV cars (both cars tires torqued at 80 lb in) and it worked perfectly. I used a 5 amp battery. I believe you need a 4 amh battery or larger one for the tool to work well. If you have tour tires torqued at around 100 ft lb (or maybe even higher) and You have a good Dewalt battery, I definitely suggest you give this a try. Anyways, I am so happy with this tool, especially with the amazing deal from Canadian Tire. Thank you CT.

I torqued a wheel nut to 190 ft/lbs, and it was able to remove it, but it was struggling and took a bit. I think this is good as it was 40ft/lbs over it's rated torque. I used a brand new 2ah battery. I tried an older 1.5ah battery and it spins faster with new battery. I think it's overpriced for torque output/old technology, but it does seem ok for other jobs other then wheel nut removal, and it's small so it would be easier to work in tight spaces then a huge impact. All in all I think it is a good tool, but if all I was going to do was wheels, I would buy a more powerful model. Everything about it is good! It has 2 power settings and the low setting is adequate for wheel lug nuts with about 160 foot pounds of torque. All accessories were good quality. You will want this one.

I use this medium duty device a lot for home automotive work on a couple of aging vehicles. It's a good compromise of lightness, size, and torque. It gets most bolts free easily enough, but if they're stuck, it isn't powerful enough to twist their heads off. Lug nuts (car, 81 ft. lbs spec) are a breeze, and yet it isn't so powerful that i have to worry about warping my rotors when putting the wheels back on. And i'm not worried about stripping or damaging most of my bolts. It lasts a good while on a charge. The LEDs are occasionally useful, but they can also be a minor nuisance, since they turn on in the bag, even when the trigger is locked.My biggest pain point is that damned detent pin. Don't consider it a substitute for a long breaker bar.Comparing to higher (or even comparable) torque devices from Milwaukee, Rigid, Kobalt, etc. -- some of those may have superior construction, but they're _all_ substantially larger and heavier. And, of course, _any_ brushless impact wrench will be as well (brushless isn't always better for all applications). DeWalt seems to have hit a sweet spot here.
I've waited a few months to review this unit and as a do it yourselfer, I can recommend this tool with absolute confidence. I use it mostly for light duty automotive work. From removing wheel lugs from a 2017 Silverado to breaking off old rusted brake caliper mounting bolts from a 2014 Rogue and several jobs in between, this tool is PLENTY capable.Purchase a larger capacity battery for better longevity on jobs for sure, but don't be turned away by the complaints. This still can't compare to my fully electric torque wrench, but for the price and portability, you can't really beat it.
I was hoping this tool would be able to easily remove the lug bolts from my car and it can't really. I still have to use the air compressor impact gun to remove them. I also tried using it on a lower shock absorber bolt and it had a hard time with those. Those were torqued to 74lb-ft. My lug bolts are torqued to 88lb-ft. This tool can remove a few but that's all. I have the 1.5A/hr battery packs. If you want actual power, you need to try the DCF894HB with at least 330lb-ft of torque. If you break a tight bolt loose first than this is fine. Also it will tighten bolts a little for final torqueing by a torque wrench.

It's saving me busted knuckles left and right. The only 'con' is the detent pin. It really grabs hold of the sockets (by design of course). Have a pin or small punch to push it in to release, or perhaps file the detent pin down a bit to round the profile for an easier release.
This little impact is great for around the house projects. I bought it for removing lawnmower blades and running down lug nuts and such. It does all that I also have installed suspension modifications to my Toyota Tundra with ease. My Tundra is new so I have not had to break rusty bolts loose but it my do a nice job on that too. It has a surprising amount of power. I have only used the battery so far.
Bought this impact wrench for several reasons. Rotating tires wasn’t my main reason but thought that would be a big plus.Found the gun on sale tool only and purchased it. It’s great for every day ratchet wrench garage job repairs on vehicles and equipment to driving lag bolts into lumber. My only complaint from prior reviews is that on a 1.5ah battery it will not remove a lug nut. Not even from my Polaris RZR. Now once broken loose, it’s awesome on lug nuts with that size battery. Even tightens my F150 lug nuts to within 10ft lb of factory rating.I have not had the opportunity to try it with larger batteries however.Final thoughts, do not totally rely on it removing your vehicles lug nuts.
people forget that lug nuts either rust in place or in the case of alloy rims go through a process called dissimulation, not rusting in place but corroding. even if you torgue a wheel to 85-90 fp it may take more that 150 fp of torque to remove the lug, even after using penetrating oil. If you understaand that this tool is only about 100fp of torque you will know why it isn't removing lugs that may have been put in place months or years ago.. There is no perfect tool. I've had lugs that required an impact socket and a 6ft breaker bar to loosen them up
