I’m an autocross enthusiast and was spending a ton of time switching wheels back and forth with my useless old driver from last century, brand to remain nameless. I asked the points leader what he uses. (He’s in the building trades.) He replied that he’s sworn by Milwaukee Tools since he was a sprout. He loaned me his impact driver and I immediately researched and bought this bad boy. I love it! I love the bright lights! I love the big grip because I have big hands. The old one I borrowed from my friend had a smaller brio that caused me to reverse directions accidentally. Not so on this big grip. Outstanding! And so fast!Well played Milwaukee Tool!

Third one of these I’ve had. First one lasted 8 months. They gave me a new one and I thought that was great! That one stopped working 4 months later. Sent it in for repair. Over 6 months before I got it back. Had to buy an alternate impact while waiting. Finally got it back and it lasted 9 days before it stopped working again. Sent it back for repairs yet again. That sent me a new one which I will be selling as soon as I find someone dumb enough to buy it. Will continue using the other brand I got when I waited half a year for repairs.

I picked this up for automotive work, I have a roadster that is a blast to drive but difficult to work on. This impact was an absolute joy to work with compared to my pneumatic tools, no air hoses to get in the way, tangled, or caught up on something. That said, it is considerably heavier than it's air tool equivalent. Like double, maybe even triple, the weight. That weight difference isn't too noticeable when you're doing horizontal work like tires, but if you're on your back holding this thing over your head it's quite a work out on your triceps! The lights on the front are incredibly bright, and much more convenient than a headlamp or hanging light. This drill brings me peace of mind. I wanted to have a high torque drill at the ready in my truck should I get a flat tire or need to assist anyone with such a problem. This drill no doubt will get that task done with ease! Its not to heavy and it sits really well in my hands. I like that it comes with two 5.0 batteries. The LED lights at the front of the drill really help as well especially in the evening or in dark areas. Having backup is a perfect layer of knowing your ready. The case is perfect and it makes storing it and carrying it easy. Having this in my tool box is a must! Definitely RECOMMENDED.

Since then i can just make a quick adjustment and I have not been found wanting more torque since. need to torque wheels every time, I found the nuts are not consistently tight, but that is because of the torque setting i like to use this tool on. So I have been going back over with a torque wrench as they have been under torqued. The weight is nice, it is a good solid impact and if feels great in my hands. My utility trailer wheels had not been taken off for many years and the studs were very rusty! I had a Dwalt impact and attempted to remove the nuts but I only managed to get the nuts about a quarter of an inch from the end! My impact was very hot and could not remove the nuts! A friend stopped by and offered me his Milwaukee High Torque Impact! To my surprise the nuts came off as if there was no rust at all!The difference with the two impacts was unbelievable and so I purchase one for myself! Thanks Milwaukee! Everything about this tool is amazing. I bought this since I do a lot of automotive work and am frequenter of the junkyard where I don't have an air hose. i haven't found anything it can't undo yet. The lights on it are super bright and a really nice feature, its like having a full on led flashlight strapped on there which is nice when I'm under a car. The way the motor knows to slow down when something breaks loose is a 10/10 feature. I can confidently use it one handed because when it breaks loose the motor will slow down seamlessly so your wrist doesn't even move. I'll be bracing for it from using air impacts but when it breaks loose to just comes out all smooth.The plastic case feels very high quality and seems to have some rubber spots in case you drop it. Is a heavy beast(what do you expect for this level of torque) but does fit comfortably in the handThe only thing I would change about this impact if anything would be a way to adjust the 4 modes. This is 100% a nitpick, and I don't think it would or should affect a purchasing decision by anyone considering this tool. Maybe incorporate their one key system so you could adjust the torque levels for the different modes. Even if it had to be adjusted in multiples of 50 ft/lbs that would be a nice feature.I pretty much exclusively use the removal setting for the max torque to take something off and then tighten back on for 50 ft/lb before using the torque wrench.Overall this tool amazing.A mid torque might be more practical for automotive use because of the weight but I personally love having the high torque for when you find that apocalyptic bolt then you grab this gun and say I'm not asking.
Fantastic!!! I have used many different brands and multiple models of 1/2" impacts and this is by far the best for my situation. I work as a automotive and light truck mobile mechanic and really couldn't do my job without this specific impact. It is great for fitting perfectly between most steering knuckles and the frame of vehicles where most others are too bulky. It also has the torque necessary to break loose large bolts and nuts that have been in the elements rusting for the last 30+ years that most other 1/2" impacts just aggravate you to the point you either get a 1" drive big boy impact or 6' breaker bar. Most of the time you are limited for space so neither of those options work. I do like the 4 speed options as it makes it usable when you use the impact on ... MoreFantastic!!! Worked beautifully, used with a 6.0AH Milwaukee battery didn't even loose a bar on battery doing 4, 20" tires. Rotation, used a torque stick and lowest setting on impact to put back on after threading them on by hand. No complaints, much quieter than my old air compressor. Unfortunately my old air compressor would re-charge more an more, and take longer an longer. Used to do it after doing almost all tires, now it would re-charge before i even got one lug off the vehicle. This cordless and noiseless impact by Milwaukee is awesome. Air tools are still great, but once a compressor gets too old its uses are limited.
