This saw is amazing. I’ve had other cordlesss reciprocating saws before, but none had the power this does when using the Flexvolt batteries. Had to cut through studs, cabinets and other things and this just sliced through them. If you are unsure whether or not to buy it because you don’t know if it will have the power of a corded saw, then hopefully this helps. It won’t fully replace a corded saw on objects like cast iron depending on the time it takes to cut through and having to change batteries, but it comes darn close to.

This tool is great in due to the flex volt and its power to keep cutting. The blades can be positioned either up or down allowing for easy clearance when in tight corners. The trigger allows for a slow start speed when its needed, and goes faster the further its depressed. The motor is powerful and makes light work of most materials. Good solid body with great feeling rubber grips where needed. It is a little heavy, but it feels like it needs to be. I mostly use this for cutting out framing with nails, but have used it for steel I beams

M*lwaukee who? Welcome to the big leagues. This thing is an absolute terrorist to cast iron pipe, solid lumber, steel beams, your trucks fenders, and anything else your little heart could desire to cut. Most jobs just need the 20v batt, but throw on a 60v and you can cut a peterbuilt in half with it, so long as you’re running Diablo Steel Demon blades. It starts just a hair slow and ramps up in a quarter second for full speed cuts, which is a blessing compared to the older shake-o-matics that we all know and love. This thing is buttery smooth on every cut. As a weekend framer and a weekday new construction/Reno plumber in residential and commercial environments, I put this thing through the wringer 8 days a week and she shrugs off everything including a 6’ deep ... MoreM*lwaukee who? Only gripes would be that the light could be a hair brighter and the the blade receiver is only two directional, unlike some of their older recip saws that had 4-way blade placement.

Great saw. Well balanced. Very powerful. I’m a huge DeWalt fan but they are seriously behind with their reciprocating saws. I have yet to see a single one come with a rafter hook. There’s not even any options to mount one yourself. Rafter hooks are one of the most important features for me on almost any tool and especially a reciprocating saw. It’s massive factor for convenience, productivity and not to mention safety. I’m up in the trusses or working on ladders all the time and it drives me insane when I have to climb down and set my tool on the floor, or risk dropping it. There were so many missed opportunities to make this saw the best on the market. No orbital action, rafter hook, adjustable shoe, dual finger trigger, quick lock blade change, or a belt hook. If they can release a saw with all these features put together they would be blow past the competition. I hope DeWalt engineers are listening. For now I cannot recommend any reciprocating saw from Black and Yellow until they can start including rafter hooks.

As a Dewalt tool owner I was excited to try out this new line of tools that operate on 20v and 60v batteries. I own a 20v recip saw as well as a flexvolt recip saw. This new saw is the best of both worlds. It’s essentially a flexvolt tool that gives you the option to run a 20v battery at a reduced power. I decided to put all three saws up against each other. I first used a 5ah 20v battery in the advantage saw and the traditional 20v saw and compared cutting speed through a 2x4 using identical blades. The advantage saw cut through in half the time over 3 tries. I then used a 9ah flexvolt battery in the advantage saw and the flexvolt saw and had identical times. I was extremely impressed with the performance of the new advantage saw both using the 20v and 60v batteries. It will be my new go to saw due to its battery versatility and amazing performance. I highly recommend you try this saw out.

[Rewarded Review] Great Saw, Missed some good Features

Let me start by saying that this saw is a beast!!!! You can feel the quality of the tool by the weight (this baby is heavy), the metal chuck, and the smoothness. So if you are looking for a great quality saw, look no further in this reciprocating saw.Let's start with the pros-1. Heavy, durable, robust tool2. Very smooth action, when compared to my other reciprocating saws, the vibration is minimal on this tool. When using my DCS367 recip saw, I feel like my arms are going to fall off!!!! Compared to that one, this thing feels like there is no vibration at all3. The ergonomic feel is very comfortable, and using this all day was not cumbersome.4. Durability- this tool didn't take very high drops, but it did fall a handful of times from about 4 ft up to the ground off the joists, and no issues with use after each dropIn short with the pros, if you need a durable robust reciprocating saw, this is the one to use. I used this for demo on some exterior joists and framing, and the smoothness of the action, and the durability makes this thing a great buy.5. Honestly, this saw runs so smoothly, any battery that I tried in this thing except the standard 5 amp batt ran almost all day. The motor and internal workings must be crazy efficientNow why are there cons.....here is why1. Unlike my Dewalt 20v XR DCS367 having a 4 way chuck, this only has the old school single chuck to hold the blade. I must say the I grew fond of having the ability to rotate the blade in all 4 directions depending what and where I was cutting2. I really liked the shorter length of the DCS367 due to being able to fit between 16" O.C framing. Not a deal breaker, but made the function of the saw better for meFor me this is a solid 4-star saw, only losing the perfect rating because of the cons that I prefer. If the 2 negatives are not a deal breaker for you, then you have a rock solid 5 star saw that is crazy durable, robust, and worth every penny!

[Rewarded Review] High quality tool that cuts great!
11 April 2021

Used this cordless saw for the first time today and I have to say it is works great. So easy to use with the quick release blades and cordless battery makes cutting fast and easy. I ran this with both of my batteries. First I cut using my standard 20V 5amp battery and it worked awesome. Next I used 6 amp 20v/60v battery and all I can say it wow. Plenty of power to cut through about anything. I used the Dewalt 6" 18 TPI blades and it cut through a solid 1" steel bar several times with little effort. Next I had to make several cuts through 1/4 steel plate 6" long and again it cut through it like butter. The battery when done was still showing a full charge. This is probably an indication of good, solid build quality but you're going to hate it if you have to use it over head or for extended periods of time. There are lighter weight, less robust, alternatives for tight spots and overhead use.I was looking forward to using the bluetooth capability to keep track of the tool and defend against sticky fingers so I was disappointed to learn that it is only compatible with the technology. A separate add-on is required to use this feature and was the biggest negative I found about this saw considering a major competitor offers the same feature already built into the tool.
