This tool is very accurate and easy to use. It works well for me doing estimating and Measuring outdoors.You will have to keep the instruction booklet to help you through the right sequence of buttons to activate which type of measuring you wish to do until you memorize each function. This tool is small and comes with a great carrying case with a belt loop that allows you to store it while writing the measurements down.Just another great tool from the DeWALT family.

An instruction manual would be helpful. We had the hardest time releasing the battery door. It looks like it is being held on by a screw, but it is more of a toggle unscrew half a turn and it is open (just turn it with a coin). You just need a thin something (we used the back end of an Xacto blade) to pry open the door (maybe if you flip it over it would open). We didn't realize this at first, so we kept unscrewing and unscrewing, thinking the screw had been stripped. What we were actually doing was unlocking and locking it over and over again.

Seemed like a good piece of handyman equipment to have in the toolbox, but unfortunately I was in need of a laser level not laser distance measurer so had to return it. Prompt refund service from Mitre 10 New Lynn was exceptional especially where confidentiality and professionalism was concerned.... so keep up the good work Mitre 10. 10 stars from me!

When it came time to renovate my basement, I knew I would need to update my old DeWalt 18v tools.My wife gave me clearance to buy every tool I would need. I stocked up on 20v tools.I’ve always been a fan of DeWalt, so it was an easy choice.I bought this laser measuring device thinking I might use it once or twice........ I find myself using it a lot.It’s particularly useful when measuring room dimensions for estimating materials like drywall, baseboard, paint, etc.I showed my wife how to use it and she took it over. Now I have to buy my own.If you are reading this, just buy it. You will not regret it.
The Dewalt DW03050 did everything as advertised and more!!!.To test the unit i set the laser on a digital readout machinist lathe at my work and took random readings to known movements on the lathe bed.... the Dewalt laser readout was dead on in every instance.Out in everyday world the laser came in handy when it was too wet and windy to even hold a tape measure without it folding over like a limp noodle.I needed to get a quote on some vinyl chimney {fake brick} material so i could order before a local promotion ended. I just pointed the laser at a protrusion at the chimney top/ and got the vertical measurement.There is area and volume setting as well to toggle in values.. nice feature when planning to buy the right amount of paint
I used a Ryobi laser measurer for years, and it worked flawlessly until I dropped it on concrete one day. From then on it works perfectly about 80-90% of the time. So I went ahead and ordered this Dewalt laser measurer from Ebay. I've only been using it for about 1 month now, but so far it has been great. It's smaller and lighter than my Ryobi, and the backlit screen and larger numbers are even easier to read. It certainly seems like a well built unit.
Really like the unit. Memory can not be cleared. It has a rolling 5 spot memory. A user guide would be nice but most items can be figured out. Otherwise a 5 star. Being able to see all measurements on cubes and square after result displayed would also be nice and needed to achieve a solid 5 star.
I purchased this device a few months ago after my bosch one died after 10 years. The Dewalt 50m laser measurer poorly performs, doesn't work well on sunny days, and throws inaccurate measurements on a regular basis or just throws up errors which is super frustrating. I would never purchase another one that's for sure and would highly recommend consumers to stay away from this device.
I bought this in a last minute hurry as I couldn't find my other laser measure and am very pleased with it.As well as having a greater range than most it has all sorts of arithmetic and geometry functions allowing it to measure things like difference in height, difference in length, height from a distance and many more. It also has a level built in allowing the clever geometry to be calculated and working as a spirit level.Laser could be much brighter as it is nearly impossible to see outdoors, and the manual is a bit poor though the electronic version of the app once you install DeWalt Tool Connect is more verbose.
Do not buy this measured. I am a builder and used it to measure from the top of the substrate for my stone to the underside of the Rangehood. The laser measured 820mm and the actual measurement with tape was 790mm.
