DeWalt DWMT73801-1 108 Piece Metric Imperial 1/4 Inch 3/8 Inch Mechanics Tool Set

Ok, first things first, this new tough system 2.0 storage box is fantasic. It’s probably my favorite thing about this tool set. I don’t have any of the other storage boxes that this is desgined to clip onto, but seems like it would connect to another case very easily and that it would be very sturdy. As for the tools themselves, everything has been working great. The wrench clicks with very small movements, which is nice in tight spaces. The numbers are easy to read on the sockets. Not much else to say about the tools themselves, they work. If had to find something minor to complain about, it would be that foam inserts won’t fit into the smaller boxes with the dividers in, but this isnt a very big deal for me. Decent set for your money.

This socket set is geared towards a home owner or occasion user. It has both standard and metric sockets, 3/8" and 1/4". Unlike most sets it also contains a nut driver set and Allen Wrenches.The sockets are 6pt which I particularly like because there is less chance of stripping your bolts. The two ratchets are 72 tooth and are thick enough so you can get a good grip for turning tight bolts. The ratchets are not as smooth as I would like - but hey they aren't snap-ons.Was sets this apart from others is the addition of the Allen Wrenches and Nut Driver. There are both standard and metric size wrenches. They are long enough to fit into tight spaces, a welcome addition to my current set which is too small.Lastly is the case. The quality of the sockets and wrenches is very good, consistent with my experience with other DeWalt products. The set includes both deep sockets as well as standard-depth sockets for larger nuts. It also includes SAE and metric versions of sockets and Allen wrenches, all of which have large, easily legible size markings. The Allen wrenches are provided in handy folding holders. Attached pictures show driver bits included in the yellow kit box as well as the two wrenches and driver. About how well made everything is or how convenient having 3 different sizes of ratchets is or how much I love having an extra storage box built-in for any extra bits and pieces I've collected over the years... but I won't because I'm sure you don't have all day. I'll get right to the bad things.... It's fairly heavy and I wish the yellow box was bigger. That's about it. other than that I'm in love with this set. Check and check.... And if you don't want the box (which comes with a bunch of screw driver bits) and a couple of other extras, they make a smaller kit that's just as nice! Just as good as all the Craftsman sets I've had over the years if not better. PS: They could have added a breaker bar in there I suppose... :)

I was looking for a tool set that had as many items as possible in one carrying case. It was surprisingly hard to find a set that didn't include tons of unneeded items, so I'm really glad I found this set. It has pretty much everything I use on a daily basis, and best of all, it fits everything into a small yet easily accessible case. I wasn't even looking for a driver set, but was very pleased to see that this has one built in (the little yellow box). It allowed me to replace my old and mostly broken Craftsman set while also simplifying my tool set. The only items useless to me are the Allen wrench sets, but as you can see in my picture I replaced one of them with a Kobalt star bit set that fits in the box almost perfectly. The 3/8" ratchet has a sort of weak sound, as if the internal parts are slipping, but it does work fine so I figure I'll keep using it and have DeWalt replace it if it ever goes bad. The 1/4" sounds just right. The warranty is great, the set packs multiple items into one case, the quality is good and the price is hard to beat!

Just what I need

Since this set was ordered, I have been waiting for the delivery person like I am waiting for my *Red Ryder air rifle". I'm far from calling myself a mechanic. I do some repairs and maintenance on my own vehicles. It makes it so much less of a hassle, when U have everything need in one case. I would definitely recommend this set. You can tell by the turn of the ratchet's smooth action and solid fieel of the handles, that they are well made. I really like the tight fit of the sockets in the carrying case as well. The cases that don't fit very tight contribute to me having five or six partial sets. All missing the 9/16 or 1/2 inch sockets. Or just a mess to go through because all of the sockets are laying in the bottom of the case. Nice Set

I've had this set for a few weeks and I'm pretty pleased with the tools themselves. I had a project on my car I put off until this set arrived. The ratchet handle is very comfortable even when applying lots of force. I was very pleased. The entire set has a great quality finish and feels great in the hand. Solid and durable.Now, the case. Not very pleased with the case. It's built well but each compartment that fits a piece is extremely difficult to remove the tool or socket from.It's nice that if you drop or tip it over while open nothing spills out all over but it's terrible trying to get anything out.LOVE THE TOOLS but the case leaves a bit to be desired.End result, would I buy again? YES! quality tool, strong ratchet, durable finish.

From the moment I opened the box I was impressed with the quality and heft of this set of tools!I have to start with the ratchets. The ratchets are heavy duty and very ergonomic. They feel good in the hand.... like you’ve got a serious tool in your hand. And they performed flawlessly.Then we get to the sockets. The sockets also have a hefty feel to them. I love the deeply engraved sizing on the side of the sockets. Easy to read and not about to wear off.It also has a great selection of bits and a hand driver for them.As usual, I passed it around to each of the guys in shop to use and see what they thought. The result...., two thumbs up! And the sockets worked flawlessly as well. The fastener engagement with the sockets was great. That is one of the things we look for in our sockets, especially the smaller sizes, is good engagement. A lot of the sockets on the market don’t engage well, and leads to rounded fastener heads.... and I hate it when that happens. These definitely passed that test. And the hand driver and bits are an absolute necessity. Especially with the large range of types and sizes of fasteners today. This kit filled that need quite nicely. Set is perfect, smell, not so much

We bought this set as a gift and wanted to open it to make sure everything was complete. Thank goodness we did, the entire room was enveloped in a smell of poop. Set is currently airing out outside for the time being. So if you are planning on giving this as a gift open it up first to give it time to breathe 😂

All pieces, the ratchets, the individual sockets, extensions, and angle sockets are finished to a professional finish. All of the corners, angles, and depressions, and curvatures are manufactured so well that they appear to be almost machined. The case is very sturdy and has a strong metal buckle on every side. I really like the quality of this case. All pieces of the entire set snap tightly into their slots and definitely stay very well fixed in position when case is opened. This is a large set, everything you will need in one place, and I carry it without hesitation up and down my long driveway to whatever car I'm using today.
