I purchased this set from ebay over four years ago, and while it's a little pricey compared to other tool brands sets, it's worth every penny. I wanted a COMPLETE ratchet/socket set with all extensions, universals and sockets, and it pretty much covers everything I use. I work on cars frequently (any type of auto work), and the only thing I could say this kit needs is a 5.5mm socket for small dashboard bolts. I've had to warranty three tools, and all I do is call Dewalt and give them the part number of the tool to have a replacement sent free of charge. The other brands comparable kits are missing miscellaneous stuff that makes them annoying, and they don't include added storage for the extras you have to buy for them. Mechanical wise, I bought two sets, each piece is of very good quality. Lifetime Warranty, knurling, I like the extensions, no filler, direct torque sockets. ¼,⅜,½ plus spark plug sockets. Great Value , gives opportunity to buy a nice full wrench set to your liking separately. They're in the case almost a little too tight, takes some effort to remove but I have figured out an easy way by just pulling up from the top of a socket, no issues , or any issues fixed easily on 800#DeWalt

The other reviews are correct, this is good quality and value. But three problems make it a no-go for me:1. Ratchets (1/2 and 3/8) are too short. I’ve had a ton of sets and bought ratchets off the tool truck because the included ones were so bad. Now, I’ve wrenched on these pretty good respectively and had no slips or flex. My first impression of the Dewalt rachets and sockets, when I opened the case was “This is High Quality!”. The 3 ratchets in the set, 1/2” 3/8” and 1/4”, along with the sockets, were all very well chromed and polished. The smooth clean surfaces will make cleaning much simpler, after I work on my truck, or use it around dirty job sites. When I grab hold of the ratchet handles, they fit comfortably in my hand, and I could grab the tool much better, thanks to the wider width of the handle area. All of the sockets are 6-point which will mean no slippage at all, even when I tighten those partly rounded heads. And the nice thing ... If you are building out your tool box and want to replace your hodgepodge socket sets with a high quality, nearly complete 6 point set, this is the one! 1/4", 3/8", & 1/2" drives all in 6 point, which is what you want. Comes with excellent heavy duty ratchets and extensions. This set doesn't come with a lot of filler pieces like pretty much every other set out there. Maybe the hex keys, but even those are great quality and handy to have even if you mainly use hex sockets like me. You'll definitely want to move all the pieces to a tool box or tool cart as the case is just a nice organized holder for shipping and sales purposes - it us not for working out of because the sockets are very hard to remove. I put mine on Hansen socket rails, which I highly recommend also. ...
