As most are buying these for...I was expecting a bit that would last more than one project by buying the carbide ones that are more expensive.I drilled 7 in 3/16 mild steel with a low speed drill set at 250 rpm. I oiled the cuts the entire time as well

I needed to drill a 1" hole through an external stucco wall to run some electrical conduit for an outdoor receptacle. I found two prior reviews that mentioned stucco - one said "does not cut through stucco", the other said it worked great cutting through stucco. I decided to take the gamble and ... I have NO idea where that first review is coming from - this thing cut through the stucco like a champ. I only cut one hole - so I don't know how it would hold up doing hole after hole.

Thus far, only used it on wood with a hand held cordless drill. Works a-ok. No issues at all. I already had the correct mandrel system...... so was good to go. aka if you don't already have the correct mandrel, you'll need it.

Diablo makes the toughest, longest lasting bits and blades on the market. Milwaukee either needs to buy them or diablo should make power tools
I only had to drill one 1" hole through 3/16" stainless steel. Product claims to be usable on SS, so I took a chance on it. I eventually got through it, but every single tooth was gone. I even used oil and slow speed. I got down to where half of the hole was through and the other half was thin enough that I used a separate 1" drill and punched it out. This bit was a goner. 3 stars because it actually drilled through the SS, but I had to spend 18 bucks for the bit and 20 bucks for the mandrel.
I love the Diablo bits but this one is just simply too long and unbalanced. It was all over the place with a hand drill. Wound up using an old Milwaukee hole saw it worked fine. Drill press only for this one!
Oneof the best I have used. A little bit of cutting oil and lasts twice as long as the others. Easy to use with the quick connect. Only thing I would suggest is doing s pilot hole first with a another nut as the internal bits do not last as long thru steel.
This is one tuff puppy. Meets and exceeds expectations. Last a long time. We are drilling thru wood and metal and it zips right thru.
The hole saw drills through wood and sheet metal great. But, you will have the saw disconnect from the arbor when you break through your material. Depending on what's on the other side it may fall to a point that you can not retrieve it.
I see a lot of good reviews for Wood but absolute garbage for steel. I returned the first hole saw after the first day (missing all teeth) thinking it was a bad holesaw, not expecting this type of quality out of Diablo. On the second hole saw, on the second hole at about 200 rpm’s using a 2 x 4 to stabilize (perpendicular). I’m still missing teeth cutting through 20 Ga, I will never purchase this hole saw again.
