Excellent every day/casual pants
After reading reviews about sizing I ordered the size up - way too big. Before returning that pair I ordered two more, on in the size I thought I needed and one smaller, just to make sure. The middle size fit fine and it should have been the one I ordered to begin with. By the way, customer service was excellent on the return process. Very impressed. Now, about the pants, very, very pleased with them. Almost exactly what I wanted. The extra pockets come in very handy. The two loops, one on each leg, are odd. I did what I usually do with carpenter pants, snip-snip, no more loops. If you do this, don't rush it. Go slowly, take your time and be careful. If you do it right no one will ever notice. The fabric does shrink quite a bit after each wash but then stretches ... MoreAfter reading reviews about sizing I ordered the size up - way too big. Not a big deal. After all it's cotton and to be expected. The only thing I would change, and this goes for other Dickies pants I have, is a little more room in the seat. Other than that, they're great. These are my day off pants and I like them because they're jeans, they're a natural-ish color (light, not white) and while everyone else is wearing dark denim these stand out from the crowd.Buy a pair.... Inconsistent Fit
In general these are great quality painter's pants. I will say at least for me the white ones seem to hold up better than the natural beige, not sure why. The material is easy to work with. My only complaint and thus the 4 stars instead of 5 is what I assume is quality control. This past time I got 4 pair of the white and 2 of them are much more relaxed fit than the other 2 are and they are supposed to be the identical same pants. Would be nice if the fit were more reliable.... Show more

Nonexistent quality control
Quality control is nonexistent! Have Ordered 2 pairs of pants the same size 3 different times and the waist is different widths ON EVERY PAIR!! A difference of between 1/4" to a full 1" in size when all are laid out with the sides lined up and only 2 of the pairs fit kind of comfortably, although a bit more snug than I would like! Now this new order I went up just 1 size to see if it would make a difference in comfort and they are so big I can literally pull them off with the zipper and button still fastened! On top of all with that the 2 pairs I can wear the front pickets are so narrow I can barely get my hand into them to get my keys out while the other pairs, that are all smaller than the label says they are, have nice wide openings in the pockets! Wore one pair ... MoreQuality control is nonexistent! Have Ordered 2 pairs of pants the same size 3 different times and the waist is different widths ON EVERY PAIR!! Wore one pair about 3 times and the 4th time the crotch ripped out when I kneeled down, but not much of a surprise there since the material they are made from is so thin you can practically read through them! WILL NOT BE BUYING DICKIES PAINTERS PANTS AGAIN! IT'S WORTH THE EXTRA COST TO PAY MORE FOR BETTER QUALITY CONTROL AND HEAVIER DUTY MATERIAL THAT ACTUALLY LASTS LONG ENOUGH TO LAST MORE THAN A SINGLE WEEK OF USE!!!!... Show more

no quality control or consistency
Lack of consistency and quality controlI usually purchase Dickies Painter's pants at other online outlets, with some success regarding size. I decided to try ordering, direct from Dickies. Received the product on time. Ordered White Painter's pants (WH1953). However, I received Natural Beige Utility pants. I ordered my usual size, but these are exceedingly tight. They were made in Bangladesh. I have six other pairs of DICKIES White Painter's pants, all the same size, all less than a year old; a few were made in Honduras (slightly tight), the others were made in Kenya (fit just right). I am disappointed with everything about this order.... Show more

Not Relaxed At All
Bought these “relaxed fit” pants alongside another pair of standard fit pants in the same size. These are by far more tight through the waist and thigh. Not to mention they are see-through and shrink at least an entire size in the wash. Why call these relaxed fit when they are demonstrably slimmer than your own standard fit? Size up or avoid altogether.... Show more

Quality
I usually buy my pants at the Sherwin Williams store in my town. They were having issues finding my waist size so I decided to order directly from Dickies. No problem with the size, and they arrived very promptly. Also maybe it's just me, but the quality and feel seems much better as well. Maybe they are just a different style, but I will definitely be ordering online in the future 👍🏻... Show more

Shrunk after one wash
These pants are super stiff when you get them, so I washed them on cold and dried them on low heat. They shrunk like 2 sizes, I can barely get them over my hips now. Additionally, the hammer loops stick straight out and there’s no way to flatten them down, so it looks like you have a white tab shooting out of your leg. Disappointed I never got to wear these before they shrunk.... Show more

Tight, thin, and awesome
Full disclosure: I bought these for the style--not for their utility, so my review reflects that use. These are awesome. I got many compliments on them. I did not have some of the quality-control problems that were mentioned in other reviews. I ordered a 32x32 and the pants that arrived measured exactly to that size. I bought them a bit big on the assumption they would shrink in the wash and they did. I washed them in hot water and then dried them at maximum heat on purpose. They shrank by a full inch in the length and about 1/2 inch in the waist. The length ended up being perfect for me. The waist was a bit tight at first, but they stretched a bit during the day so they fit like a glove. They are quite tight in the thighs and the seat. The leg opening is straight ... The leg opening is straight and wide at the ankle--they look good with big boots. Surprisingly the material is quite thin--so thin that dark fabrics actually show through. As a result I only wear light colored shirts and only gray undergarments. I like them very much, but you need to plan for the shrink and the thinness.... Show more

Yellowish color
Purchased these for my husband to wear to work. (Illinois) Quality material and construction. They fit as expected. We've bought these several times over the years, however, this time instead of bright white, they have a yellow hue. The tag states 'white'. We're going to try to soak them in White Brite and hopefully that will solve the problem. I'd give them 5 stars if it weren't for the yellow hue. The yellow coloring is disappointing.... Show more

Yup! Just what I wanted
Love them. For me, the fit was great. The whites are super white, which I really like. I am not in the trades anymore, I just love painter pants as I have since I was a kid in the 70s. The natural are great too very neutral, and more comfortable than Chinos/Khakis. These have pockets where you need them, are heavy and durable, built to last, but truly comfortable. They'll work for work, and work as jeans.... Show more
