The power was amazing, the cooling down happened very quickly. BUT after not even 12 hours of use (not consistent) the unit had a plastic burning smell, you do have to drain both areas and I did continuously while we had it. Not even 2 weeks old and we had to take it back. Pros- Was quietCools fast Easy to installCon- broke in under 12 hours

But there is nothing warning you before purchase that the window MUST be knee high to allow for the exhaust hose that MUST be straight out, perpendicular to the air conditioner with no bends. in addition "sleep" mode makes little difference and the system roars into action every couple of minutes and then ends Ina big clunk when it goes back into sleep mode again. Can't be used if you're trying to sleep, or use it in an office as it's way too noisy. Only useful for a living room and only if noise is not an issue. Overall it cools a small to medium room fast, but that's about it.

Great portable air con. Reasonably quiet and circulates air well around the room. We are renting and have one in the lounge room and one in the bedroom. Its great that we can set a timer for it to turn off. Haven’t noticed the power bill go up much either so it must be pretty efficient.

Works well in a lounge 4.5 x 4.5Expect noise...it's not a split system.Was purchased to support the split system in the bedroom and keep a 2 bedroom house cool in central QLD. Purchased a smaller Dimplex unit for the kitchen as well. Between the 3 we can keep the house cooler during the hottest part of the day and keep the humidity at bay. Was cautious due to reviews (keep in mind that these are not large quiet split systems) but they have been great at taking the temp down a few degrees and getting rid of the humidity. Be prepared to turn the TV or radio up a notch.
Does a really good job of chilling the room. Handles both hot and hot/humid days really well. Motor turns on and off to maintain desired temperature. Good directional flow and ereally easy to manoeuvre. It is a little noisier than expected but not unbearably so.
Great unit for the price. It is a bit noisey when the compressor kicks in but that should be expected from a portable unit. Only two down sides that are, as far as im concerned, a designe flaw. First the window kit is about 10mm too narrow causing the hose to pop out when the window is closed against it. Second the exhaust hole in the kit has no protection from rain ingress which for me means removal every time it rains
Great air conditioner and quick too cool the room, but sounds like a jet taking off. Sleep mode isn't that quiet and the control panel is limited in options for this particular model. Need to fit near a space that the outlet hose which is around 15cm in diameter wide can blow the hot air out.
Great in almost every way. Except for quite, you don't notice, till it turns off. But if that's the trade off for my boys being able to sleep well. Otherwise great. Plus portable so you can change your usage needs. Self elimination internal water is a sweet feature
Terrible unit. Extremely noisy like try to sleep with a vacuum cleaner on at the lowest setting. Makes the claim no drainage as the unit is self evaporating. Woke up to a SOAKED carpet and had to frantically try and dry it out. The option for a drainage port does not include the hose and doesnt tell you what size mm is required. If I didnt throw out packaging I would of got a refund the next day as I bought TWO units for my elderly parents. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Seems to do the job well, although the temperature coming out of the machine is questionable. Even at the lowest temperature it doesnt feel overly cool (but cool enough to be comfortable). The machine also switched to Fahrenheit and I havent been able to get it back to Celsius. Dimplex customer service seems non existent.
