Bought to replace one that cracked through no fault of its own after many years of use. Really handy for scrubbing a few things that can't go into the dishwasher. The twist cap is a great replacement for the old mechanism. For those complaining about leaks, it takes quite a firm twist to close the first time, but when it does there's a satisfying click.

I find this great and bought non stick sponges and the ordinary ones. I do not use it as designed - realise it leaks but as a small sponge on a long handle I find it useful. I have a bad back and the size of the sponges are ideal for cleaning the bath, basin, skirting boards as well as the dishes. Saves using gloves all the time.

Not even as useful as a chocolate teapot, and doesn't taste as good. If you have a bottle of Whitley Neill Gin, then once emptied, use the cork stopper on the end of the Dishmatic, in place of the plastic cap. The Dishmatic doesn't leak, and is also free-standing. If you don't have said bottle, buy one, enjoy the contents, and then use the cork stopper. Win, win.

So disappointed by latest dishmatic. Used old design ones for years with no problems. This new design leaks so that there is never any washing up liquid left in it when you come to use it! I have tried leaving it flat, slightly tilted (both ways), fully tilted (both ways), only partly filling etc etc... There is literally NO possible way to keep liquid in it! So no point to it!
I have had this a few weeks now and just changed my very first head after purchasing it with the green scourer attached and replaced it with the white non scratch. I have also not filled itβs handle with WUL and just used it the conventional way scrubbing my dishes from the washing bowl with liquid. I have seen a difference from using it and also taken a lot of pressure from my arthritic hand not being in the water too long and stays dry/pain free. Does a great clean up too! I will be sticking with this master of cleaning up for months to come! Got it while it was a Β£1 too as well as the 3 replacements!
I have been using Dishmatic sponges for as long as I can remember and would be lost without one. Well, now I am lost because the current design is not fit for the job. Particularly the sponge grips which don?t grip at all but launch the sponge across the sink upon use. I lost patience and gave up after two days of reattaching the sponge to the wand. Hopefully, as there are enough reviews saying much the same, the manufacturers will take a look at the new design and address the issues. Meanwhile I shall be trying the other brand sold on Ocado which seems to get better reviews.
Brand new and the end leaks. I bought this to replace my Spontex one as it looked like a better cap. Unfortunately, it was broken and leaked immediately, I have ordered another replacement and am hoping this one is ok. Other than that, it's a good design!
Used for years, always reliable. The pads now slip out of the shoe fitting and no longer is the small clip at the back able to hold the pad in place. Will trial with a replacement handle and if this fails I will have to find a better make, What a shame.
a regular sponge with an abrasive top works better than this. the only reason we keep it round is because some people in the house like it, and it encourages others to actually use detergent - the idea to have it in the handle is clever. it's fine. i just would rather use something else. we've had no problems with replacement heads, and prefer the less abrasive-topped ones.
i've used these for a while and tried to get to live with it. I agree with previous reviewers it's just really badly designed, the sponge head comes off when used on the lightest of jobs. It's such a simple and easy design fix but i guess the manufacturer expects us to just buy a new brush head instead. I don't get why the manufacturers try these tricks. Why not just design and test the product properly so people love using it?
