Being an Avata owner i loved the idea of flying my other drones in FPV i'm not disappointed The Mini 3 Pro flies like a champ however i'm uncomfortable doing the same with the Mavic 3 purely due to the cost the Mavic 3 feels much twitchier than the Mini 3 Pro. It's probably a settings thing i haven't figured out yet ? If you have the equipment i dont believe you'll be disappointed with upgrading to this controller !

The goggles 2 work fine in giving you a drone's eye view of your flight. The diopter adjustment lets you fine tune your view of the controls and the drone's surroundings - it's my reason for buying the Goggles 2 versus the Integra goggles which use plastic inserts to fine tune your view. The instructions that come with the goggles and controller include a multitude of languages - they seem to be incomplete and confusing. Your best bet is to go to Youtube for instructions on how to link them to your drone. Detailed manuals for both the goggles and the Motion 2 controller are available from DJI's web site. The current firmware doesn't allow use of the RC controller with the goggles. Perhaps this was DJI's plan to force you to buy the Motion 2 controller. The Motion 2 is OK but it lacks the ActiveTrack, POI, and SpotLight functions. The Motion 2 lets you fly in "Tom Cruise" mode but I find that the RC controller works best for smooth steady videos. In my first Motion 2 flight I managed to crash the drone. I was unable to find "Find my drone" in the goggles menu - I had to power up my RC controller which quickly led me back to the drone. I'm among the many users that are waiting for a firmware update allowing use of either the Motion 2 or RC controller with the goggles. My initial attempts to fly using the Motion 2 were aborted by a "Remote ID Error". I found it necessary to connect my phone DJI Fly app to the goggles to clear the error that was preventing takeoff. Once the drone is airborne the phone can be disconnected from the goggles, the error message reappears but can be ignored once you're in the air. A final thought - Flying in "Tom Cruise" mode using the FPV option can mess with your sense of balance. Find something to sit or lean on so you don't land on your butt.

I got in a motorcycle accident a few years ago and thought I wouldn't be able to do anything. I really always enjoyed the drones but never could fly them. Then drones became much more stable and wanted to get one. then I got in an accident and it was very difficult to operate control sticks with RC cars let alone, a high priced Drone. well I used this device and let me tell you this. I went under a 22 inch high deck, dark and muddy, 14 feet wide, and the whole way across i went under this deck and out the other side with no propellers hit. Great device. I have improved so much with this. I have 7 of this FPV Combos right now with motion controllers for each and i love them. Best of all, I can di it and do it well. Brand new and won't charge. This is apparently a well known issue after I looked it up on the forums. It does not come with a cable or charging block. Even the FPV charger that this controller is used with does not work. The remedy is USB C cable with a certain charging block. I have tried multiple charging blocks including DJI,s and nothing works.STUPID FOR DJI to not include a way to charge this controller.I would tak it back but I did not find this out until after the return period.BAD.
DJI Charges $200 bucks for this. Ok, this is kind of cool, but to really get control of the FPV you really should use the regular controller first before even trying this out. This is very hard to control using those buttons, although they seem like it would be easy to find, your blood is pumping while flying and if you hit the wrong button or pull the speed trigger, you might be into the repair shop. I would say this is worth about $100 bucks tops.Oh so I was trying to write this in the title, but check your local Best Buy to see what the return policy on DJI Products is. I have heard they will allow you up to 365 days, other ones I have heard they will not honor that policy.
The controller is super easy to use. Tap the red “lock” button twice to start the motors; hold it down for auto-takeoff; double click for auto-land. There’s a Gimbal Tilt Slider on the side, which allows you to position the gimbal to your desired angle. The accelerator trigger is obviously for throttle, and it does allow you to ease into forward motion. And the big feature (in addition to motion control itself)? That big black button. It’s labelled as “brake” – and it could be a drone saver if you’re in trouble. Hit the button and the drone will come to a stop and hover, perfect if you’re having an issue and give it a quick click. It won’t save you in all situations, but it’s a super smart feature to have. Things can happen quickly at 90 mph (154 km/h), and that ... MoreThe controller is super easy to use. Things can happen quickly at 90 mph (154 km/h), and that big button is hard to miss. When you first launch the drone using the controller, you’ll notice right away that – without any throttle – the drone is responding to your inputs while it’s in hover. Twist your wrist left or right on a plane parallel to the ground and the aircraft yaws in space. Tilt your wrist up or down and, though the goggles, you’ll notice that the gimbal angle is changing precisely with your movements.
I was amazed at how easy it was to pick up this controller for the DJI FPV. With a quick review of the button and controller functions and no time in the simulator, I was up and flying immediately. This control method is amazingly intuitive for existing pilots and new pilots. You lose the ability to strafe (fly the aircraft sideways) but what you gain in immersion is worth it. If you need to perform more technical maneuvers, stick with the two stick controller. Now, if only DJI would make this controller compatible with their other drones, we would have a total winner here. This is the only reason for removing a star, this controller is expensive for only being compatible with a single aircraft. Great and fun way of controlling the DJI FPV drone. Very easy to use, very fun to use too, and great for beginners. Really does feel like you are connected to the drone in a more personal way.My only complaint about it is that it doesn’t support strafing movement, going backwards, or really anything to do with tricks and acrobatics. It would be nice if I could maybe switch strafing/lateral movement on as button press, ditto with backwards movement. Likewise it would be cool if it came built in with some auto tricks like loops or a true dive option I can hit a button to execute, like how the Tello drone does it. It would also be nice if I could get a special setting beyond sports mode that would let me go the full 90mph like you can in manual but keep with the ... MoreGreat and fun way of controlling the DJI FPV drone. Prior to purchasing this and the DJI FPV drone, I had zero drone flying experience. So when I was researching what kind of drone to get and read that the FPV has it's own "motion controller", I was sold. The closer I could get to flying one like a video game, the better.Using this to fly a drone is so incredibly intuitive. There are a few limitations, which I'll get into. But if you're looking for a new drone flying experience without the worry of a complicated controller. This motion controller is perfect for you!The quality of construction is interesting. It definitely feels sturdy and made of good materials. But yet, it's still pretty light weight and "plasticy". But if you're looking for a new drone flying experience without the worry of a complicated controller. This motion controller is perfect for you!The quality of construction is interesting. It definitely feels sturdy and made of good materials. But yet, it's still pretty light weight and "plasticy". It has a nice subtle texture to it so it's easy to grip without feeling like it's going to slip out of your hands. All of the buttons click nicely. I can see the Tilt slider becoming worn out at some point. It's spring loaded, and I'm sure the springs for it is small and will eventually lose some of it's retention. The accelerator trigger also has a nice textured surface to it, ensuring your finger grips it nicely. The functionality it provides is nearly perfect. It takes a bit of getting use to what each button does. For instance, the Lock button will start/stop motors as well as take off/land. The brake button acts as a RTH button as well. I do think that the button layout could use a bit of design rework. I have average sized hands, and my thumb has trouble reaching the tilt switch comfortably. You can tell it's design and form is meant to be as universal as possible. Keep it mind, if you try to use this left handed, you won't be able to use the tilt and record buttons. So this thing does have a couple limitations that are worth noting. This motion controller has no descend function. The only way to descend is to fly forward pitched down. This makes using the motion controller a bit precarious when wanting to RTH manually or for fine altitude control is smaller spaced. I think if there were a mod button that allowed the accelerator to become a descend trigger, or some other way to provide descending, it would help complete the controllers usability. The other limitation is range. Which, not that big of a deal. It doesn't have a huge extended antenna like the standard controller has. So it's range will be a bit shorter.Overall, I love the motion controller. Highly recommended for new comers (like me) and professionals for a unique flying experience.
I’ll give it 5 stars because of the coolness factor. It will be interesting to see just how often I use it. I believe DJI has some updates planned for the joystick as well. The best way to describe flying with the stick is you have a cursor on the screen of your goggle. You can move the cursor with the stick. Wherever the curser is moved to the drone will follow. It’s actually very easy to control the Copter this way.
