The DJI Osmo Pocket Expansion Kit provides a few add-on accessories that will let you do a lot more with your Osmo Pocket Gimbal. The Controller Wheel attaches right below the LCD of the gimbal, facing the user, and provides a dial for precise pan and tilt control. The dial is comfortably accessible by thumb. Wow brilliant little pack, the wire stand works ace just plug in your pocket and then control the whole unit on the Mimo app. The small control panel that slots onto the pocket has a dial for controlling the gimbal left and right up and down with a small switch to change orientation, one of the two buttons is for re-centring the gimbal and the other cant remember sorry ha! The small cage is official DJI so fits the pocket perfectly. Note only one GoPro attachment at the rear! If you fancy them just get them you wont be disappointed

the DJI expansion kit should be your first accessories purchaes for your osmo pocket. The scroll wheel and wireless base take your filiming to a whole new level. There are several third party mounts for the pocket so the mount is not so crucial, but since you will eventually need a mount it doesn't hurt to have this until you find one you like better.

This expansion is a great addition for my Pocket 2 kit and ecosystem, but the WiFi transmitter base should really just be inside the camera like the GoPro. It’s a very small camera/gimbal, so I wouldn’t mind paying more for it to already be built into the system (making the handle longer would help me hold it better!) for a little higher of a price. Ok. I ordered it at the same time as I ordered my Osmo Pocket. So I didnt really know what to expect.The good part is that everything feels solid and the quality appears to be pretty good.So why only three stars?First of all. The wheel for moving the camera gimbal is a Wheel and a sliding button. it does its job. But its not very fast to use if you want to make a slight adjustment both horizontally and vertically. Then you have to slide the button sideways and then use the Wheel. Who came up with this? Not very intuitive and fast. Will I use it. Not likely to be honest.Second, the accessory mount is just a piece of pretty sturdy plastic with a standard GoPro mount on it. My plan was to use it on a boat, put it somewhere and film and remote control it with my phone. With some tape, rubber bands or something else it might work. But its a shame that they didnt put in a tripod mount underneath it.The memory card is a memory card. Its only 32 Gb so my guess is that most people buys larger ones. But I guess it can work as a backup for me.Is it worth the money? Not for me. Figure out which part you need I buy it separately. Thats probably cheaper.

The expansion kit for the osmo pocket brings some utility and a good bit of disappointment. The utility comes in the form of the controller wheel which is far less clunky than using a smartphone. The disappointment comes from lack of range from the wi-fi base and the utility holder that needs to have another piece supplied to make it functional. The Osmo pocket is still a fun little camera that offers clear, crisp video and still images however, it falls far short of what it could be.
So, the good stuff. I love having a base for the Osmo Pocket. Ive set it on a number of places for timelapse videos. It would be nice to have the wireless capability without a bulky base, but Id rather have a small unit than the wireless built-in. I have not had any connection issues.The thumbwheel hasnt been used that much, but Im glad I have the option when I get around to using it more.The Clamp is where I think it could be designed better. It does its job just fine, but the GoPro prongs are on the front. That doesnt help if I want to film in pov mode by strapping it to my back-pack strap with the Peak Design POV Mount. Ill see how mountain biking goes in the spring.Ill have to add more after I get more use out of it.
Without this kit, the Osmo doesn't make a lot of sense. For instance, one of the Osmo's quirks is the frightening way in which the phone attaches. But with the wireless adapter clipped on, you can put your phone or tablet anywhere and get all the functionality. Additionally, the control wheel is infinitely handy and provides smooth panning and tilting (although not at the same time).I haven't had the opportunity to put the attachment bracket to use yet, but it provides a solid way to grip the uniquely shaped Osmo. With the wireless adapter, this attachment allow you to mount the the Osmo while keeping it controllable without the phone physically attached.
