If you are looking for a light weight summer duvet/quilt that doesn't weigh you down like an old fashioned blanket - look no further - this Downia Ultimate Light is the one. I have had to return many online orders whilst in search for a lightweight high quality duvet/quilt. I was in search of a summer quilt to keep me comfortably cool and very light weight at the same time. Other brands in the feather or cotton range professed to make such claims but were heavier and some had a cover made of a material that was too noisy (like crumpling paper) - but this one is perfectly lightweight with a cotton cover.

Over the past months purchased 3 quilts trying to find the right comfort /environment level, mainly not sweating , the doonas are encased in a waterproof quilt protector which would add a level of restriction to breath ability . I found this quilt to adequate for winter months around Woolgoolga but for me too hot for summer so can recommend the downia cotton which will cover most of the year except a few months when this quilt will cover that. Small footprint , nicely tailored , luxuriously finished .

This feather and down quilt is quite warm for summer however it is so comfortable and light feeling . It is a quality product and I love this brand . This quilt will take you through to autumn . Happy customer

An excellent light summer feather quilt when compared to my previous brand, its perfect for Melbourne weather as its definitely worth the money spent. Allergy friendly, light weight and no feathers sticking out and easy to use. Highly recommend it.
I recently purchased this quilt for my daughter after having purchased the same downia doona 10yrs ago for myself! Mine is still going great & is perfect for the Qld winters! I love the lightness, the structured style & feels soft & cosy .
For context, I live in Darwin and it’s obviously too hot with the aircon off most of the year but I find I’m too cold with aircon on and just a sheet. So I was looking for a light doona.I found this pretty much did the job, it’s still a touch too warm and heavy and I wake up a bit sweaty/clammy sometimes. Although the loft is really nice, and the soft/cozy feeling is lovely.I did notice what other reviewers had mentioned such as the doona smell and the sound, the dark feathers and how it moves around in the cover but that’s just what happens with a feather down doona. It didn’t put me off buying it and doesn’t put me off using it.
The sound of this quilt is horrible... like sleeping with waterproof plastic or cellophane on top of you. Any time you or your partner moves, you get a horrible crinkling sound. The fabric is also very slippery and constantly slips out of the quilt cover.
Here in Tasmania where we often have cool nights and warm days, I love sleeping under this down duvet in summers and shoulder seasons during these times. It keeps me warm enough and is still cool enough for my husband who sleeps warm. The duvet is very snuggly and provides a light cocoon like feel.
Bought this summer doona because we didn’t want to be roasted at night with the winter one. It took a bit of research before settling with this one. Just love it and the difference is imminent. It’s light and cools you down. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy another for a friend when the specials are back on. It’s pricey but well worth it.
I haven’t slept under duvet yet as it’s winter, but on 1st impressions. I love how light weight it is & that it’s thin but still down/feather. Fits perfectly into duvet cover without gaps, which sadly so many other duvets don’t. What l don’t like about it is the noisy plastic sounding & feeling outer fabric. It’s meant to be 100% cotton, which is partly why l bought it as l overheat easily. So why does it feel plasticky & is so noisy - like waterproof fabric. Unfortunately the outer layer ruins what would have been a perfect summer duvet.
