Be kind to your feet! These shoes are stylish, comfortable and a good fit for my narrow, flat feet. They look more like women’s shoes than the vegan ones that I purchased where 6.5 were more like a size 7 and a little on the larger side.I got these at a bargain for £75! And am going to get the black ones next, which are full price. If you’re a DM fan, these won’t disappoint! Excellent buy, excellent value and works well with trousers, skirts, dresses etc.The one improvement would be, add the DM tag at the back like the boots.

The quality of these shies are as good as I remember 30years ago. I am still a proud owner of Doc Martens Boots (6 Holes) still very good condition and quite supple and very comfortable.Unfortunately this new pair of Shoes, I was shocked that they were Size 9 and yet so narrow! that I could not even get the front heel in the shoe, I was utterly disappointed about the fitting.I had to send them back. First I thought I should get size 10, but I did want to be left disappointed again that they are wide but probably longer in size.I am sure I wrote why I sent the shoes back, the reason.

I received my husband’s shoes today, a christmas gift for him. The shoes were not on sale, I paid the full price…but they arrived in a brown nordstrom shipping box, that’s it! They looked like they came from a clearance rack…where is the original Dr Martens shoe box? They were just thrown inside a big box with nothing to protect them during transit. The shoes did not have any tissue paper stuffing or tissue paper wrapping for protection. So disappointed! Well this is not the first time receiving a cheaply packaged item from Nordstrom, but a full-priced item without it’s own shoe box is a big turn-off. Not acceptable, returning tomorrow!!!

Look and feel is great. I was replacing an old pair that I had worn for over 20 years! Fit is accurate and true to size (U.S. anyway). I comfortably wore them after unboxing - the parts around the heels are a bit stiff and will need some wearing in, but so far as the rest, I could have stood for 8 hours comfortably! The Nappa leather is buttery smooth to the touch. It's definitely a matte finish with no reflections, as opposed to other shiny dress shoe models. My favorite part (that not many people see) are the soles. I'm a gigging musician and have to walk late at night on sidewalks and across streets to load/unload heavy equipment, and the super grip these shoes offer has saved me many a time from slipping on hard-to-see puddles and oil spills. I use my 1461's for work. HVAC. Being summer they are cooler than the full size 1460. They required minimal break in. Got a hot spot on my heel at the top of shoe after about 4 hours. Swapped to a broken in 1460. Did this maybe 2 more times and can now wear them all day. This is my first pair of 1461. I debated not going MIE to see how l liked the cheaper ones in case they were not for me. I'm very pleased with the MIE. I am going to purchase another pair to not wear to work. I'm 50 years old and have been wearing Dr.Martens since High school. Size 10 always. Dont ever need to try them on. Always fit proper. Still love them after all these years.
Leather very stiff to begin and shoes need quite a bit of breaking in. Comfortable once done so, if a little strange when walking due to the cushioned soles, but I will probably get used to that in time. True to size, albeit that only becomes apparent after breaking in.Shoe trees help. The brand, which I encountered first as a teenager in the sixties, has become upmarket, fashionable and consequently expensive.A good shoe overall, but not cheap compared to competition. There was an issue when at online checkout no discount code could be applied, but Dr Martens subsequently refunded the 10%. Their online shop software thus needs rectifying.
So, I ordered the burgundy color listed above, thinking they were burgundy NAPPA leather oxfords as per the listing that's what I thought they were. DMs are great but smooth leather is kind of tough on the feet. FYI, the burgundy color is in a SMOOTH leather. I did get a free return label and refund of the original purchase price but am not getting anywhere with customer service re: refunding the initial $9ish shipping fee-not a huge amount of money but enough, and the principal of the thing bothers me- it just feels wrong as I feel the listing was inaccurate/misleading and Dillard's so far won't take ownership for this. So, a warning to others - the burgundy leather oxfords listed above are SMOOTH and not NAPPA leather and though a good price and are beautiful ... MoreSo, I ordered the burgundy color listed above, thinking they were burgundy NAPPA leather oxfords as per the listing that's what I thought they were. These are the best shoes. I am a natural 7.5 size so i had to order the 8. I was a little worried at first because they had a different fit and feel than my other shoes, but after a day of wear that went away. The small size difference isnt even noticeable after your feet start to mold to the insole a little, The grip is perfect after that. I bought the care kit which is a first. I have blown apart a pair of boots before by not breaking them in slowly enough. That was a drag cause yea a lot of money gone. So i laid on the wonder balsam and shoe spray. This helped break them in and the finish is still so fresh. I do the treatment every 2-3 weeks. So far things are great. Hope to get another pair of boots for fall.
Recently purchased this shoes from physical store, and unfortunately, I've encountered some significant issues with the sizing recommendation provided by staff.I informed the salesperson that I typically wear a UK 9.5 size. However, since there were no half sizes available, I followed their advice to try on a UK 9, which indeed felt snugger on my feet. The salesperson suggested that I should opt for an even smaller size, UK 8, citing that for the 1461 vintage model, the sizing is the same as the smooth variant. Trusting their expertise, I proceeded with the purchase of the UK 8 size. However, upon trying them on at home, I quickly realized that the UK 8 size was far too narrow for my feet. Trusting their expertise, I proceeded with the purchase of the UK 8 size. However, upon trying them on at home, I quickly realized that the UK 8 size was far too narrow for my feet. My toes felt cramped and uncomfortable, leading me to research further online. I discovered that the 1461 vintage (made in England) model tends to run narrower and smaller compared to 1461 smooth, contrary to what the salesperson had claimed. It became evident that my usual size would have sufficed, as opposed to their recommendation.Unfortunately, due to the lack of physical stores in my area and the policy restricting returns or exchanges of in-store purchases via mail, I've been unable to rectify the situation. Despite attempting remedies such as using Dr. Martens wonder balsam and stretchers, the shoes remain uncomfortably tight even after nearly a month of wear.I genuinely appreciate the design of the shoes, but the overall purchasing experience has been incredibly disappointing due to the inaccurate sizing guidance provided.
I sincerely liked the quality and fit of these traditional oxford shoes, but I returned them because the heels are lifted to an extent that bother my back on my tall (6'4") frame. If I had any wish for Dr. Martin, or shoe makers generally, would be to proportionally scale down the heel height, relative to the ball of the foot, to the foot size (assuming larger sizes would generally be purchased taller individuals). Shorter men and women seem to prefer higher heels, the taller among us maybe not so much. I personally am more comfortable with little or no increase in the height of the heel over the ball of the foot. But most shoes have some. The shoes find myself the most comfortable with are the Sperry brand boat shoes I have owned. But the main issue being the heel ... MoreI sincerely liked the quality and fit of these traditional oxford shoes, but I returned them because the heels are lifted to an extent that bother my back on my tall (6'4") frame.
