After getting through the pain, and raw skin (1st week) I have Zero problems: best shoe ever. My new Docs: I’ve had them on my feet every day since they arrived, and I can’t stop looking at them: archetypal 1461s in Smooth Black Leather. Funny how you can change your mind about what suits you – I happen to be slim and I used to think these big shoes (size 9.5 for me) with those familiar deep, wide soles did not work with my body shape. But now I just don’t care what anyone else might think, they feel good. And they look handsome. I have noticed now, when travelling on the busy London Tube, there will be several people in each carriage wearing DMs. Quality will out. As for me, having experienced the AirWair Bounce, I’ll never go back to a solid sole. I just love these shoes.

Extremely sturdy and old fashioned quality

These are a serious pair of shoes you can tell will last and last. I can recall shoes of this kind of quality when I was young, solid hard leather ( hence my ‘old fashioned’ comment in the title ) true they need wearing in, something that provides in the end a much better fit and feel but still with the quality to last rather than the modern trainer type that just wear out after a season. If I had any criticism it would be that I would prefer longer laces but I think I can possibly just about manage to sort that out! I think they deserve to become a true icon where a brand becomes the name of the item like a Hoover. What type of Doc Martens do you wear? Overall I know these are going to become old friends like my old comfortable jeans or worn in motorcycle gloves!! ... MoreThese are a serious pair of shoes you can tell will last and last. Good, solid shoes.
31 January 2023

Yep, I've got subcultural associations that give me warm fuzzies about them going back decades, but they're also just good, solid work shoes. I do wish that they did half-sizes. These fit pretty well as long as my socks are a little thick, but I still have to keep two pair of uber-heavy hiking socks around to wear the same size Docs boots... So they're not even consistent without the half-size adjustments. And I wear an 11 in pretty much everything (e.g. Vans, Adidas), but these the UK10/US11 are slightly large.

I got these shoes because
30 April 2023

I got these shoes because they are exactly fit my needs and I like the look of them. First pair I had to return because they were far larger then my size. After getting the second pair (one size smaller), I was reluctant to keep them because they seem to be too stiff, I wasn't sure they would be comfortable walking for a long time. After reading a lot of reviews about needing to break them in, I wore them at home for a couple of hours a day for about 2 weeks. Now hey feel comfortable to walk anywhere for a long time. I do not regret buying them and spending time to break them in. I feel that I will be wearing these shoes for a long time.

I have been wearing doc
28 January 2023

I have been wearing doc martens for 25 years and love them. For the last 6 months I have been wearing a leather soled pair of shoes every day dreaming of getting my next pair of doc martens. This week my dream came true 😀 I ordered them on the Saturday and they arrived as expected on Wednesday. I have had them on all day Thursday working from home and they fit well and the air softness under my feet is so good to have back. Yesterday I wore them all day at work (11 hours) a little stiff on the heal but starting to mould to fMy feet. Five stars all the way 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I have ordered these shoes
12 January 2023

I have ordered these shoes because my father has dementia. He was so pleased with his new shoes that he stated it was like walking on air.Without the help of Lisa from the Cambridge shop we would not have been able to order these shoes at all. Because my mother and father do not have access to Internet anymore. My father was really good with the Internet but due to his illness he cannot use the Internet any more and my mother has never used it. I live over 200 hundred miles away from my parents. Lisa from the Cambridge shop managed to send out some information in picture format and my father chose what he wanted mum then phone me with the order number and I then went onto the Internet and ordered them. I love them
5 October 2022

I'm so happy I bought these, I have had doc boots before and was aware of the breaking in period, which wasn't too long with these, I got some rubber heel guards that helped initially. Do not size up or down, just exact size. Lovely slightly chunky sole I wouldn't exactly say platform. I got these for work as sick of spending £30 a quarter of rubbish black shoes that's don't last and I'm so delighted with the look and comfort. I actually even wear on days off with almost every outfit! Such a good investment buy!

I used to wear 1461s all the time (literally 24/7) for years (this will be my third pair over 10 years!) but it’s been around three years since my last pair and, as I’m about to start a new job, I thought they would be a versatile combo of smart/casual.Now trying them again, I honestly don’t know why I ever stopped wearing them, they’re the comfiest, coolest shoes I’ve ever worn. I’m 26 and they still feel as on-trend as when I was 15. I’ve really fallen in love with them all over again, and I think (unlike some of the other docs I’ve tried more recently) they haven’t really gone down in quality (although undeniably have increased in price, unfortunately)I went for a half-size down from my regular size but I’m still not too sure if they’re a little big, so I’ve ... MoreI used to wear 1461s all the time (literally 24/7) for years (this will be my third pair over 10 years!) but it’s been around three years since my last pair and, as I’m about to start a new job, I thought they would be a versatile combo of smart/casual.Now trying them again, I honestly don’t know why I ever stopped wearing them, they’re the comfiest, coolest shoes I’ve ever worn. Been wearing Dr Martens since early 90's. Work, play beat the heck out of them. Lasted forever, eventually the soles ware down after a very long time, thats about it. Made in England! Since the early 2000's most people have been buying DM's made in Asia and "something" has changed. Most noteably the soles are cracking or seperating from the shoe. My last pair of 1925's lasted a few years until the the sole literally split in half and began seperating from the shoe itself. The leather had begun to crack and develop holes...I have never experienced this myself with Docs. I have seen the seperation happen within a few weeks with some other people. The 1461's I received had the QC sticker inside and were made in Bangladesh. I have seen the seperation happen within a few weeks with some other people. The 1461's I received had the QC sticker inside and were made in Bangladesh. The interior yellow stitching is sloppy and the exterior length of stitching gets smaller as it approaches the heal on the right shoe. Left exterior heal swoops down and the right exterior shoe swoops more upward. Both interiors do not match. The cutting was off. This may sound picky, if you are an old school DM owner you will notice. New to DM's you probably wont notice or care. This is a quality issue that just seems to be common and acceptable amongst all brands now.Overall , they are still a nice pair of Dr Martens that will hopefully last awhile. You can still buy real Docs Made in England for about $100 more if you prefer to support people working in better conditions and probably much fairer wages. Otherwise, these will do. Principles and intergrity have long passed.Remember to break them in slow, condition and polish....hopefeully the "bouncing soles" stay on." Review Sweepstakes "
